Only when I tried the uncompressed avi in OBS and it worked I've realized it's the webm conversion screwing it up. You're the man!
4:56 There is an easier way of doing this but the results will vary depending on the complexity and composition of the image. In order to automate the legwork of using the Bezier tool, first select the image you want to trace, next hold Ctrl (or Cmd) + Shift + B or go to Path>Trace Bitmap. You will see a menu appear in the sidebar with two tabs: Single Scan or Multi Scan. Select Multi-Scan if you are using a colour image. Then, all you need to do is fiddle around with the settings for the scan. You can try doing a Trace Bitmap based on colours, grays, edge detection, auto-trace. Just find the option that works best. If a combination of options produces a better result, group the traced images together by holding Ctrl + G. If this feature doesn't do anything, it may be that your computer isn't powerful enough.

Is there resources on how we can turn a subject that moving in the background into a track matte? This tutorial reminds me of the where parappa the rapper is dancing as we transition from the cutscene into a level in the second game.
how did you divide the two sides so the white animation doesn't go over the left side? is that just a black box you used? you forgot to include that in the video
Thanks for explaining that but what about the black screen you get? Like the game has a 2 second delay before loading in. Its the only frustrating thing about it. And i cant find a fix anywhere

One thing to note, because it was an issue for me when I was trying to set this up, make sure you Export this from the EDITOR page; not where you're working on the composite. Otherwise it only exports the Composite and not the whole thing!

You can only do this with a HUGE watermark now in 2024 using the free plan. Any canvas size above Full HD will have a watermark which makes this pretty useless unfortunately...
