  • A quick review of my new Mr Hobby Procon boy PS-266 airbrush I ordered from SprayGunner.com I ran 20psi for this test, it's lays down some really nice coverage and is more than usable for closeup work on larger models.
I got mine here for a great price: bit.ly/SprayGu...

I’m in Taiwan 🇹🇼 and I see plenty of those needle and tip replacement kits in the hobby shops for the .03 and .05 mad air brushes.

If you are seeing Madworks airbrush parts then you are lucky, I was finally able to get a replacement months later.

I wonder how this compares to the Iwata Revolution. Both 0.5mm setups, both around the same price.

@DeeeFoo likely similar but the creosote has a removable paint cup and travel stop.

I just can't deal with the ginormous cup, but then again, I'm an aircraft guy so I have to deal with tighter spaces, freehand camo jobs etc. For 1/32 scale maybe, but I like my Iwata HP-CS as I do mostly 1/48 fighters and the occasional (read that "cheap and couldn't pass on the price" 1/72 aircraft). Now....the Procon Boy, I hear all kinds of good things about that.

You would likely love the PS-270 .2 or PS-289 .3 with 10ml cup more for smaller work, all very similar to eachother.

The 0.5mm is great for prime and base coats. Seems like a really nice airbrush for the price. Interesting to see the difference in the 0.5mm needle.
Spraygunner is an awesome site. Got my procon 290 on sale this week (based on your recommendation) and it's arriving Thursday already. Love their site for anything paint.
Now the question is..are you gonna use that small 0.5mm to spray some 1/35 scale?

Agreed, with all the larger scale builds I do a .3 becomes a bit time consuming, also the 290 is fantastic for any primer or solid color coats, this will do better at spraying with a bit more control over wide areas, and obviously has a pretty massive capacity.

Also I would use it to prime a 1/35 for sure.
