yellow bug light. Making your own. DIY bug light painted yellow.

Take a LED or CFL light bulb and turning it into a bug light. Don't use an incandescent light bulb , it get too hot, Use high grade, high heat resistance spray paint

For outdoor lights, dont paint the bulb, paint the interior of the dome cover. I did this using just my daughters neon yellow poster paint!! Its not going to get wet, or exposed to a heated bulb! PLUS I can just wash it off if I want to.. I even switch up the colors according the the holiday ;)

I've been painting light bulbs yellow for many years to use as big lights it works great and it's way cheaper

What about just puting a yellow see through bag over it?

That may burn or melt the bag, I would not want to try it

@@dustyguy I would try it on one of those plastic capped leds. They do not get hot enough as evidenced by the plastic cap.

Great idea! I was wondering how good the light shines through. Gonna try it. I use low wattage LED lites. So need to make my own bug bulbs.
