"Kill several hundred stalchildren after freezing the day and night cycle with cheats" Fun fact about this, actually. This has some credence to it, as every time you kill a few stalchildren, a larger one will spawn. The more of them spawn, the bigger they get. Normally, you can only get 2 sizes due to the length of the day/night cycle, but if you freeze it, you can make truly gargantuan stalchildren. This might be the origin of that claim.

You could fill a goddamned encyclopedia with the rumors about how to get the Triforce in OoT. I vaguely remember one that involved like a 17-step process that culminated in firing a light arrow at a certain spot on the dry Hyrule Lake lakebed while it's raining (which IIRC is BS in and of itself because you need to fill the lake to GET the light arrows), and another much simpler one that claimed you could roll around the outside of Ganon's Castle using the hover boots, get behind it, and drop a bomb through a pipe which would come out under the castle, land in the centre of the lava pool, and drain the lava. There was a certain sense of fun to not having comprehensive databases to let you debunk something inside of two minutes in the 90's.

The one about the Windfish Egg I actually remember, and when I found a way to test it, it was SUCH a bummer. Short version, if you play the old gray version of the game instead of the DX version, there's a screen warp you can do by hitting select as you trigger a screen scroll, so it's super easy to get to that other side of the room. It just drops you into the maze the same way as if you fell in the hole.
The Ocarina of Time section had some mistakes. First, the Sword Beam attack does actually exist in the game but goes completely unused. There are cheat codes online that let you activate it, but I don't remember if it works properly. Second, there is a tunnel under the ice in Zora's Domain, but it leads to a dead end. It was likely an entrance to a shop, a fairy fountain or something else (not that it matters since you can't unfreeze Zora's domain anyway).
Ah, the good old N64 era :) i loved all this zelda rumors, i heard even more back in the day. this two games where rumor magnet xD ^^ great video, cant wait for part 2 :)
...and I was involved with the rumor about the desert pyramid in Ocarina of Time. I know in the forum I visited that I was the one who brought it up as a possibility. I spent so much time trying to find some hidden secret path in the sandstorm to get to that pyramid. Eventually months later, somebody with an emulator was able to remove the sandstorm visuals and show the "pyramid" was really a distant mountain whose silhouette resembled a pyramid. I also found out how to make the Sheikah stones "glitch" into different colors (they shift into different colors when hit with a bomb as they are about to shoot into the sky, hit them just as they are momentarily a different color and they'll stay that color until you reload the area). I also got 0:59 seconds in running man race, would catch Hylian Loaches by chasing them with iron boots into the lily pad shallows where they're more eager to bite your hook, and once I even had two Hylian Loaches in my pond. Ah, such sweet memories
I like the idea of a series of rumors that have come up for new games, I've always wanted a list of the different kinda of rumors/fake leaks that come whenever a new pokemon game get announced
This brings me back to my childhood, reading many dumb rumors on Zelda fan sites! I never fell for them, but it's amazing what people would just make up and then get shared around.
Guys, I found out something very interesting. You see, my uncle worked at Nintendo from around 1995 to 2004. He quit because he wanted to become an opera singer. Anyways, his computer contained data files from the development of Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker, and I'm here to share these secrets. Apparently, hidden within both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask is a password system. By entering the cheat code "Bite-Size" in Ocarina of Time, you will be warped to the Dark World. Similar to the Dark World from A Link to the Past, Link will turn into a Rabbit. Suddenly, the cast of Monty Python appears, which makes sense because Uncle Steve said that Miyamoto blackmailed the guys at Rare into adding the password system and literally everything else. Talking to John Cleese will cause him to use his powers to turn Link into Waluigi, and Eric Idle gives you Waluigi's shoes. Make sure you talk to Eric Idle first, because if you move as Waluigi without shoes you'll instantly die and your save file will be erased. Then, you will go and find the Dark World's equivalent of the Running Man, and you'll use Waluigi's game-breaking speed to beat him. He'll then give you the Pegasus Boots. Using the Pegasus Boots you can dash your way to Misery Mire where Koume and Kotake will challenge you to a rematch. Use the Mirror Shield to deflect their Lazer Beams. Then, you'll get access to the Magic Mirror, and you can then beat the Running Man with the Pegasus Boots equipped. The Running Man will then give you a chainsaw which you can use to cut your way into the Great Deku Tree, which will grant you access to a total of three items: The Ultraton Hammer, a powerful upgrade of the Megaton Hammer, Roc's Feather, which will grant you the ability to jump, and the Nuke, which is a Nuke. The Ultraton Hammer's fiery blast will smash the ice at Zora's Domain. You can then reach the Unicorn Fountain and dip the Master Sword in to upgrade it, giving it more attack power, a longer-ranged Spin Attack, and the Sword Beam. Using Roc's Feather, you can jump up onto the roof of Ganon's Castle and then jump up to the Sky Temple. Beating it will then give Link a gun. The Nuke can be launched at the Gerudo Desert, blowing up the rock that conceals the Pyramid of Power. In the Pyramid, you'll find Ganon's Trident. After doing all of this, head to Ganon's Castle. Enter it and a Thwomp will thwomp you to death, only for the Fairy in the Unicorn Fountain to revive you. You'll wake up in the Light Temple, where Link will point his gun at Rauru, making him wet himself. The warm urine will melt the floor, forcing Link to traverse a dungeon to escape. At the end of the dungeon, Link will obtain the full Triforce. He'll then wish for the resurrection of all the Sages except Rauru. Link will then be warped to his childhood, where you'll complete a harder version of the first dungeon. Talking to Kaepora Gaebora will let Link learn the Overture of Sages, which Link can't play on the Fairy Ocarina because he has a sinus infection and it will just clog the Fairy Ocarina with mucus. Play through the game as normal until you reach the future, where Link will play the Overture of Sages while Rauru is talking. This will warp Link to Ganon's Castle, with the five Sages you rescued at Link's side. Together, you'll navigate the castle, until Link is suddenly warped even further in the future by Ganondorf's magic organ. There, Link will be alone in the desolate Hyrule, where all he will find are four dungeons: In place of the Fire Temple, there's Ganon's Tower, in place of the Spirit Temple, there's the Earth Temple, in place of the Forest Temple, there's the Wind Temple, and in place of the Water Temple, there's the Ice Temple. Beating the Earth, Wind, and Ice Temples will introduce you to three new Sages: Medli, Mekar, and Moe the Moblin. Then, you'll head to Ganon's Tower where you'll fight Ganondorf the Sixty-First, a descendant of Ganondorf. Killing him will grant you some Ocarina Oil. Oiling your Ocarina will allow you to use the Song of Time to warp back to the "present". Finally, you can beat Ganondorf, which will be much harder since he retrieves his Trident from you at the beginning of the fight. Note that Ganondorf and Ganon are weak to the Gun. Don't worry about your ammo, James Bond will appear and restock your bullets. Then, Zelda and the Sages will use their power to fire a lazer at Ganon, which will blast him to another dimension. Now, you can enjoy the postgame. Head back to the Giant Dead Dodongo and bomb its left eye 1200 times and then its right eye 1200 times before throwing one last bomb at the center. This will destroy the Dodongo, revealing several Boos straight out of Super Mario 64. Big Boo will say "L is Real 2401" and you will then be forced to go to the Spirit Temple where you'll find Luigi. Luigi tells Link that Mario is Missing, so you go to Turtle Rock in the Dark World, where Bowser has kidnapped not only Peach, but also Mario and Zelda. Beating Bowser will save everyone, and Luigi will reward you by giving you the Infinity Wallet, which gives you infinite Rupees. Meanwhile, at Lon Lon Ranch, Ingo will be naked. Just Ingo though. If you use your newly-received Mario Boots to jump onto the roof of Hyrule Castle, and then remove the cartridge and put in Super Smash Bros. instead, you'll unlock Peach, Bowser, Zelda, and Ganondorf. If you save and quit in Ocarina of Time by this point, you'll hear the Happy Mask Salesman's laugh, but the text onscreen will say, "Lol man now there's four timelines how do you like that bruh". If you do all of this in the Gamecube version, and then take the disk out and pop in The Wind Waker, another Island will show up, containing the Dungeon of Twilight. Beating it will unlock a direct sequel to Majora's Mask reminiscent of the Spaceworld 2000 demo, with graphics similar to the "laughably fake" screenshots in this video. This was so confusing so I texted Shigeru Miyamoto and he replied saying "Who dis".
There was supposed to be a light temple, it was scrapped tho, the idea of it carried over to twilight princess' temple of time. The forest temple was supposed to be a wind temple, hence the wind puzzles in ganon's castle and the forest medallion being a fan.
Some of my fondest memories are spending time on 1999 internet reading about "Zelda secrets" on Geocities and Tripod sites trying to find the how to get under the ice in Zora's Domain. This guy at school _swore_ he saw it happen at his cousin's house once!
7:10 rumour or not, that’s a pretty trippy and smart idea. Some game dev should make an easter egg or objective like this in a game that involves time travel.
3:00 while its plausible for this case that wasnt a fake demand creation, Nintendo has been "under estimating" alot of thier products since then. Wii, amibos etc
when I was young I used cheat forums like CheatCC and there was a rumour that there where 2 Secret Masks in Majoras Mask. The Angel Mask that gave Link wings and another that I can't remember what it was called. Remember it saying to get the masks you had to use the hook shot on Eponas saddle. This wold case link to fly in the air and land on the moon. I remember getting frustrated that I couldn't get it to work. I was a Gullible kid.
Yah, our logic back then would always go "I can't get it to work, I must be wrong" rather then "This doesn't seem to work, let me make sure it's a thing" or "This seems stupid to even try, let's see someone else fail, or prove it wrong."
I heard from a friend of a friend that if you glitch out of bounds, you can get past the "end" of the video (timestamp 18:43) where they've hidden the real solution to revive the butler's son.
I feel like the rumors for a temple for Rauru from OoT might be what inspired the idea of the Temple of Time being a dungeon in Twilight Princess, since you get Rauru's medallion in the Temple of Time
In Botw you can get a secret sword by beating Ganon with only your pants and a regular bow. You then get a map to the Unicorn Fountain where you are rewarded with the sword.
The Spaceworld 97 dump of OoT has an early cave with water that possibly connects to that underwater passage in Zoras Domain. The early script suggested having to dive under water to reach the area. So, just a different entrance to Zoras Domain. The OoT Sky Temple rumor was in part because of that very early Zelda 64 video showing Link getting the Triforce. At the time people weren't aware that it was a remake of the first dungeon from the original Zelda. The water on the side of the room in that scene looked similar to a sky beneath the floor, leading to that speculation.
Holy hell as a Swedish native I got a good laugh out of the pronounciation of Videospelklubb. I mean no offense, but that was just WILDLY incorrect and I loved it 😂
There was actually a collection released on the GameCube that included Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Zelda 1 and Zelda 2, but if I remember correctly it didn't include Master Quest
The Zelda story would get mighty boring once she re-awakens as Zelda, though. Just sitting in the Hyrule Castle basement waiting for Link to come back.
I was told as a kid that you can get a flame sword in ocarina of time if you beat all of the child dungeons bosses without taking damage and in my early days of the internet read that the way to get the blue fairy in ocarina of time was through the hole in the wall at the fishing pond
I once had a guy tell me that the ending of Ocarina of Time involved Ganondorf throwing his sword from his tower into the heart of the new Deku Tree in the Lost Woods, killing it. Having completed the game years before, I just stared at him in confusion.
in wind waker there was a rumor that if you beat the game once in each slot, deleted the second slot, then created a new file in that slot you could choose the color of the hero's clothes. my brother spent a really long time trying it and was really upset when he finally did it and it didn't work
I've always heard that things like the Unicorn Fountain and the Sky Temple were originally planned for Zelda URA, but because the 64DD peripheral didn't work out, Nintendo scrapped it and moved on to Majora's Mask.
10:53 - Was wondering when you were going to mention us in this. I can't believe people are still talking about this to this day. Also, I was the original person to introduce the "Use Items on Epona Glitch" in Majora's Mask. You're all welcome. (I'm sure someone would have found it eventually regardless.) Ah, such memories.
The other side of the ledge over the pit reminds me of the back part of Bill's house in Red and Blue of Pokemon. You can see the back part as you go inside his house. People thought it led to his backyard, a cave or a secret garden with colorful flowers with PokeGods and/or you could find a wild Mew there. At least we have PokeGods now which are some of the Legendaries like Arceus.
The butler’s son story is just depressing, made worse by the fact that even you as the hero can’t save him; glitch use or otherwise. Also, I now wonder whether Wind Walker would’ve been better received had it come after Twilight Princess instead of before.

*Kill It With Fire.*
Wait someone actually believed you can get a M16 in ocarina of time 😂
If it was true it would not be the weirdest easter egg weapon in gaming. Ever heard of the Unicorn Gun from Red Faction?
Who needs a master sword to beat Ganon when you can just pick up a good ol' M16
Ah, the good old N64 era :) i loved all this zelda rumors, i heard even more back in the day. this two games where rumor magnet xD ^^ great video, cant wait for part 2 :)
Link: "You just brought a sword to a gun fight!" 🔫
"Parry this, you fucking casual"
Lamp oil, rope, bombs! You want it? It's yours, my friend, as long as you have enough rubies!
You know what's not a rumor? I programmed a 3D Ocarina of time for the Game Boy Advance! Really, no joke. I also posted a Minecraft demo :)
It was very impressive! Any plans for making it a complete remake?
@@AgnusCavichioliPereira I wish but the GBA hardware and storage size is too small. But i will make the most I can and continue to add details.
god i cant believe the m16 thing was actually a rumor thats hilarious
...and I was involved with the rumor about the desert pyramid in Ocarina of Time.
I like the idea of a series of rumors that have come up for new games, I've always wanted a list of the different kinda of rumors/fake leaks that come whenever a new pokemon game get announced
why would you do all those things just to see 2 old people and a little girl naked?
*FBI OPEN UP*
Well, she DOES grow up eventually...
EDIT: You’re all terrible.
Ladies and gentlemen, we got em.
fbi: you got lucky *slowly closes door*

I was hoping zelda
100% real
One of the most gloriously batshit things I've rear
DYKG: We won't be talking about the Chris Houlihan room.
Also DYKG: *talks about it in great detail*
Video: starts
Four Swords Adventures music: plays
Me: LIKES
I can't stop re-watching these
Wait... this isn't complete if it's part 1...
Nubbo Thanks for pointing out the good news.
Wow!
You're SMART
*_amazing_*
I thought that too!
Every 60s seconds in Africa, you get dumber.
As a Swedish person, the highlight of this whole video was them trying to pronounce "Videospelsklubb".
Wasn’t the sky temple rumored also because of the wind mechanics in Ganon’s castle?
There was supposed to be a light temple, it was scrapped tho, the idea of it carried over to twilight princess' temple of time.
The forest temple was supposed to be a wind temple, hence the wind puzzles in ganon's castle and the forest medallion being a fan.
Some of my fondest memories are spending time on 1999 internet reading about "Zelda secrets" on Geocities and Tripod sites trying to find the how to get under the ice in Zora's Domain. This guy at school _swore_ he saw it happen at his cousin's house once!
A rumor of Nintendo artificially inceasing demand by limiting supplies? Dang glad those days are long over.
** cough * first half of 2017 * cough **
And then they did something similar with the NES Classic.
7:10 rumour or not, that’s a pretty trippy and smart idea. Some game dev should make an easter egg or objective like this in a game that involves time travel.
Fractorification It would add 7 days of guaranteed replay-ability!
3:00 while its plausible for this case that wasnt a fake demand creation, Nintendo has been "under estimating" alot of thier products since then. Wii, amibos etc
DYKGaming: Makes a video on OoT rumors
Triforce%: I'm about to do what's called a pro gamer move
when I was young I used cheat forums like CheatCC and there was a rumour that there where 2 Secret Masks in Majoras Mask.
Most people: Why would anyone want a _gun_ in a game like...
Final Fantasy: *Am I a joke to you?*
lolz
I feel like the rumors for a temple for Rauru from OoT might be what inspired the idea of the Temple of Time being a dungeon in Twilight Princess, since you get Rauru's medallion in the Temple of Time
Nice sources list. I'd put the part where you define rumours at the beginning though, makes more sense...
8:18 That pronutiation was on point, music to my ears
“We wont be talking about the Chris Houlihan room”. *proceeds to talk about the Houlihan room*
1:07 is the best time you get when racing the running man I've done it
How did you do it?
Ok, maybe a little off topic, but I just LOVE how you pronounce "El Puerco"
In Botw you can get a secret sword by beating Ganon with only your pants and a regular bow.
You then get a map to the Unicorn Fountain where you are rewarded with the sword.
"Switch between classic and modern graphics"
Did they just predict Combat Evolved Anniversary?
I mean no offense, but that was just WILDLY incorrect and I loved it 😂
It sounded like a German! :)
*Schpellklub!*
There was actually a collection released on the GameCube that included Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Zelda 1 and Zelda 2, but if I remember correctly it didn't include Master Quest
Yeah, I can confirm this. I own the collection and it doesnt have a master quest. It did have a WW demo though
Nobody gonna talk about the dragon that you can catch in the fishing pond in OoT?
Steve McCord what?
Oh my goodness, yes! I totally forget about that until I read your comment.
I recently found your channel, and I love it. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
Dude i would love a version of Wind Waker where you can play from Zelda or Ganon’s perspective of the story.
The Zelda story would get mighty boring once she re-awakens as Zelda, though. Just sitting in the Hyrule Castle basement waiting for Link to come back.
Favorite part of the thumbnail is the large incorrect video time just kinda there
4:25 "we won't be talking about this" proceeds to then talk about it 😂 great video tho
I was told as a kid that you can get a flame sword in ocarina of time if you beat all of the child dungeons bosses without taking damage and in my early days of the internet read that the way to get the blue fairy in ocarina of time was through the hole in the wall at the fishing pond
my uncle who works at nintendo told me botw 2 will allow you to wield a m16 while riding the motorcycle
Francistein I hope he’s right 😂
Well, dlc for the first one did have a "motorcycle" per say so...
Since you can ride a motorcycle in the first one, I really wouldn't be surprised.
I once had a guy tell me that the ending of Ocarina of Time involved Ganondorf throwing his sword from his tower into the heart of the new Deku Tree in the Lost Woods, killing it. Having completed the game years before, I just stared at him in confusion.
At 8:40 I think that's actually a HK416 or a M4. Not an M16.....
I always speculated that some way to beat the running man would have been added in the infamously cancelled disk add on.
A franchise so rumerous, it needs TWO parts!
Poever Rumor has it that there may be a part 3.
in wind waker there was a rumor that if you beat the game once in each slot, deleted the second slot, then created a new file in that slot you could choose the color of the hero's clothes. my brother spent a really long time trying it and was really upset when he finally did it and it didn't work
"We won't be talking about the Chris Houlihan room"
*spends nearly 45 seconds talking about it anyway*
I've always heard that things like the Unicorn Fountain and the Sky Temple were originally planned for Zelda URA, but because the 64DD peripheral didn't work out, Nintendo scrapped it and moved on to Majora's Mask.
Ok so what I gather from this video is people keep making up rumors about Link having an M16
The older ones about him getting a gun are probably translation and him shooting beams, but M16 is pretty hard to justify that way.
Zelda will always have a special place in my heart
Imagine Link but he has a gun
In a fan game, you can
@@darkdoctor1915 finally.
Real Mario Smash Bros can make that dream a reality.
I think that would be very fun like Shadow the hedgehog.
Edward Robinson *Link opens treasure chest:* Damn, not here!
I love how so many Wind Waker rumors became reality in later Zelda games xD
5:21 I have reached the other side using a speedrun trick, and I can confirm there's nothing on the other side. It just puts you back at the exit.
Damn, is Remix Hispanic? That “El Puerco” was way too clear.
*I A M E R R O R*
Oh that’s a totally valid mystery they missed. Maybe not a rumor, but perhaps worth mentioning.
Oh man the nostalgia! Awesome video!
Did You know we are running out of ideas for this channel.
???
The butler’s son story is just depressing, made worse by the fact that even you as the hero can’t save him; glitch use or otherwise. Also, I now wonder whether Wind Walker would’ve been better received had it come after Twilight Princess instead of before.
5:08 why would the fact that a game is portable make it rumor-proof? What?
Rumor has it, portable games are generally immune to rumors I guess.
Yeah that line doesn't make much sense. I think they just needed a segway and didn't think much of it.
8:18 lmao i laughed so hard, the way he deliver the line caugt me off guard
"Clicking LIKE helps us grow" NOOOO but I want you to stay boy Link foreverrrr!!
This is the only time I have got an advertisement that I am actually interested in.
