Ganondorf was definitely the most human villain up to that point! You gotta look at this with the context that the only Zelda games at the time were Zelda I, ALttP, and their sequels. Of that, the closest we get is Agahnim, a proto-Ganondorf who _really_ doesn't do much other than say "ahahahah i'm doing the thing now".
the "Human side" to Ganondorf was used during the final battle of Wind Waker. He reflects the actions that lead up to his reign of power during "Ocarina of Time" and shows some remorse for his actions before losing his mind again.
Oh, he had no remorse. He gives the reason he did it then wrestles the Triforce into his possession before attempting to raise and control Hyrule. The when the King pops in to make his wish, Ganondorf goes insane. No remorse there, lol.
he shows remorse before the king of Hyrule appears out of nowhere and suddenly dooms him to be trapped under the ocean for eternity in a hellish nightmare. Watch the video "A TOTALLY legit Wind Waker Speedrun (WORLD RECORD)" Lol
zeranzeran Ganondorf doesn’t have remorse. he pulled the remorse card in wind waker, attempting to justify his actions. he’s not remorseful, ever. Ganondorf kills innocents, and tries taking over the world, several times. Ganondorf is literally the reincarnation of Demise, specifically Demises hatred. Ganon is a manifestation of Evil, that’s why he is called the “Great King of Evil”.
Ganondorf never shows remorse. Ever. He may reflect for a moment on what drives him to desperately desire the Triforce, but never does he express remorse for his deeds. His wish pronounced before the Triforce, "GIVE HYRULE TO ME!" was never about anything more than his desire for power.

I don't think there was what we would call an original storyboard, or at least not a complete one. With Zelda games, Nintendo usually develops much of the game before writing what amounts an actual story. In Ocarina's case, development was very messy and things were changing all the time. There were a few things that were made public even back in the day that gave us some indication on what the story was going to be. - Nintendo originally wanted to remake Zelda II, so the story obviously would have been based on that game, though that idea was scrapped early on. - Up until the later half of 1997, all screenshots and videos of the game only had adult Link. Young Link did not emerge until somewhat late into the game's development. This meant that story elements involving the Ocarina of Time, the Temple of Time and time travel came about within the last 18 months of the game's 3 year development cycle. - Since Child Link didn't show up until much later, Adult Link was supposed to have been part of the Kokiri tribe and his venture into the Deku Tree dungeon was supposed to be part of a ceremonial rite of passage that a occurs when a member of the tribe reaches a certain age. The Deku Tree dying of a curse and warning Link about Ganondorf as well as telling him to meet Zelda was also in this version of the story.

@@jon-erich9752 Hmm. I'm unsure if no screenshots of Child Link somehow proves he wasn't implemented originally. I always heard that they had intended three overworlds (this video collaborating it) meaning there would have been a young link at some juncture, originally. My guess is that the story originally was meant to be kind of like Skyward Sword in how you go back in time to the past. But who knows how THAT would have changed the game. And how far back?
The's a reason that musical technique is called "sol-fa" not "so-fa". There's a whole 19th century book called "The History and Uses of the Sol-fa Syllables", which you can read online. "In eleventh-century Italy, the music theorist Guido of Arezzo invented a notational system that named the six pitches of the hexachord after the first syllable of each line of the Latin hymn Ut queant laxis, the "Hymn to St. John the Baptist", yielding ut, re, mi, fa, sol, la. [...] "Ut" was changed in the 1600s in Italy to the open syllable Do, at the suggestion of the musicologue Giovanni Battista Doni (based on the first syllable of his surname) [...]". Please, look for an article on "Solfège" or "Solmization". There's no point of me pasting whole essays here ;)
Some indie devs like the people behind the recent Wonder Boy III remake (Lizardcube) have said they'd love to give Zelda 2 a modern remake, though of course it's all up to the higher ups in Nintendo to decide if an indie studio should be given access to the IP. While Nintendo's allowed Western studios to handle IPs like Mario (mainly for spin-offs) and Metroid, Zelda's generally stuck close to Japan (the Oracle games and Minish Cap were co-developed with Capcom, and Hyrule Warriors was developed by Koei-Tecmo's "Omega Force" division).

I think what I mainly appreciate most about Ocarina of Time at this point is it's evolution through development at a time where developers industry-wide pretty much had to make up the rules and standards for 3D games as they went and also it's significance to the overall Zelda timeline.

The most likely reason for Gerudos being inside iron knuckles is the actual story portion where a gerudo is trapped inside an iron knuckle. Instead of having one special model for this particular sequence, they used the same model and only activated it at that one point. It's far less thrilling in comparison to a potential story where they're all inside iron knuckles but infinitely more logical.

Thanks for the video. Didn’t know about the names of the ghosts, or the German names of the builders. Just a few minor corrections: • The order of the notes in solfège is Do Ré Mi Fa So/Sol La Si Do • Deku is only problematic phonetically in French, and only because “ku” would be pronounced the same as “cul”, which means bottom/butt. The whole thing would sound like “of butt”, which doesn’t really mean anything. • The French translation for the flower bomb (“chou péteur”) is supposed to mean busting cabbage. You are right, however, that the word “péteur” could also means something/someone that farts.
@5:00 that same chant thing ended up in street fighter 5 briefly before they pulled it. Sagat's stage or something like that, I can't remember. They realized it was inconsistent with the location, I think.
Catriam Flockentanz It’s easy to forget games I didn’t like. I don’t like Phantom Hourglass or Zelda II either, the only reason I remember Tri Force Heroes is because it’s the most recent. Four Swords was cool if you had other people to play with.
It's funny hearing about the french translation. I really like the term "chou peteur" which I find really fitting. Coming back to the french translation : Deku can be read "des culs" which means 'asses' and not feces. Your videos are really interesting, keep up the good work :D
I really hate hearing others mispronounce “Ah-kah-reena ”, the worst I’ve heard is “Oh-kar-reena “ damn these people with accents making words sound different right?

I think what I mainly appreciate most about Ocarina of Time at this point is it's evolution through development at a time where developers industry-wide pretty much had to make up the rules and standards for 3D games as they went and also it's significance to the overall Zelda timeline.
can you guys do Series you haven't done like KOF, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Shenmue, tales of? Please.
Kev San fossil fighters
Shenmue was originally supposed to be a Virtua Fighter RPG based on each of these characters backstory and start off with Akira Yuki backstory on the Sega Saturn
Or something that's actually good. lmao
Kev San i would love a tales of. They have so many games to choose form
But those are not Nintendo games.
You know, for a few years after this channel was created, I thought "Well, they've managed to expend all the good series, this show can't last much longer". However after watching this video I think this channel has a big comeback it needs to grab!
Ocarina of Time is a masterpiece
Swirlking 2000 Overrated
I mean Ocarina of time is GOOD, but I prefer breath of the wild.
A masterpiece wouldn't have a boring combat system where you wait for opponents openings.
Definitely good but not a masterpiece
There is SO much GODDAMN waiting in Ocarina.
It's still one of the best games ever.
A masterpiece for future game developers.
10/10
Baby's first adventure game.
I don't know that... It's pretty boring if you ask me.
6/10
It's like a 7/10 by today's standards. Many future Zelda installments have improved vastly on the formula presented in this game.
Explain to me why future games are shit then, botw sucked a$$
Peter ohne Nachname Lmao what a troll
For me this is the best Zelda game in the franchise and breath of the wild
linkel game plays I think you spelt your name wrong...
Damn this was an episode packed with things I didnt know... And considering this is OoT and people have been making trivia videos about this game for more than a decade thats pretty darn impressive... Great job on the research Shane!
Ocarina of Time is a 10/10 for me simply because you can play any song with the ocarina.
Kaepora Gaebora wasn't just confirmed to be Rauru in the historia. It tells you in the actual game if you bother to look for it. There are gossip stones in the Sacred Forest Meadow that tell you this.
imagine this being the first normal boots channel video youve ever seen and you go to watch madness only to find out that they deleted every video cause Jared is in them
My all time favourite game, played it through atleast 10 times and it never gets old.
Zelda 2 needs a remake!
Beytu Berk We need a Zelda CDI remake
Very true
Don't forget about Zelda 1.
William Stone MAH BOI! I'm interested to see how that would turn out
I am a PERSON with HD graphics, they would look great!
Hey, small correction that literally doesn’t matter at all: at 6:20 So and Fa’s placements in the solfège should be swapped
I would love to see some of these "would have been" games completed in an alternate universe.
Zelda OOT is a classic game all around great near flawless game play and sound track.
Happy 20th Birthday, Ocarina of Time :):):):)
Easily my fave vid of the series so far
My favourite game in the series. I liked BoTW too, but OoT is just way closer to me.
This game came out 20 years ago and it is still the greatest title that will ever grace our consoles.
Dores Mipha, Sora, Sidon -> The Zoras of BotW
The Best Service company that made that commercial sound library (5:32) now makes one called Shevannai that is super fun to use. It's a bunch of nonsensical "Elven" words/chants/whispers. They work really well for arranging vocals without using actual lyrics.
Sorry, but how many times can you make videos about the exact same information on a series about disseminating gaming-related information? I feel like I've watched this entire video before. I actually thought it was a reupload, to be honest.
yeah this channel needs more ideas
I didn’t know about the iron knuckle part...
EyeofSol
Oh sorry, you know there’s only so many facts we learn about a video game that people don’t already know.
I was already aware of the shared information, but I also had the same feeling of a deja-vu, as if I already saw the same video before.
Broshi i did; I poured over The Cutting Room Floor
The most likely reason for Gerudos being inside iron knuckles is the actual story portion where a gerudo is trapped inside an iron knuckle. Instead of having one special model for this particular sequence, they used the same model and only activated it at that one point. It's far less thrilling in comparison to a potential story where they're all inside iron knuckles but infinitely more logical.
Farting Cabbage is the greatest name for a Zelda item and I wish the name was in more things in general
Zelda OOT is a timeless classic. Got a gold cart special edition the day of or day after its release and still to this day have not beat the game, although i am very close to beating the port for the Game Cube.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I did know gaming
2:47 That moment when Link is using a broadsword like a katana and still gets good results.
Thank you for covering my favorite game
Oh that last woods song! it just bring joy to my heart and tears to my eyes, what a wonderful time playing Zelda on N64! This is definently top 5 pieces of entertainment human race has created so far.
Anyone saying one Zelda game is undoubtedly better than another and yelling at someone for saying something you don't agree with, just remember opinions exist and everyone is entitled to them. Not to sound angry or condescending, just wanting to through that out there. I know it's a revolutionary and confusing idea but just think about it. You may find that it's actually nice to be nice.
Nice Zatoichi clip. One of the best film series ever made.
Makes me want to play OoT again! 😂😂
Iron knuckles and those enemies that eat you and take your weapons are some of my favourite zelda enemies
Now I want a mod where the Flower Bombs' explosions are replaced by farts.
The best title of the Zelda franchise with so many mysteries to it
9:58 ProJared
Would be awesome if they completed "Ura Zelda" and released it on a possible N64 classic like they did with Star Fox 2 on SNES.
*Best legend of zelda game of all time*
*tell more about the legend of "zeld" games*
Ha no
@@cri_c I thought nobody would ever agree with me.
Truth.
@@CristianMartinez-rg9sz Correct more grammar so you can show your intelligence to the world.
5:11 I didn't know there was so much detail about that chant. I knew it was removed because it was a prayer. but it bing something as simple as muisc track 76. wow. by the way nice thumbnail art. :D
Its mind blowing that this game was ment to be a FPS
I'm so very glad it wasn't.
It may have been played as a first-person game, but I'm sure the only shooting mechanic was going to be bow and boomerang.
Dan c Not an FPS, just a first person game
Likely would have been more akin to Elder Scrolls than a shooter.
FP. Not really FPS
2:57 I’m betting Link’s design was based on Leonardo DiCaprio. They’ve got the same eyes, and DiCaprio’s star was on the rise during OoT’s development, so the timeline would match up!
In this world: The legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time
In my drugged up world: *Elf boy adventure sexyfor*
Daily Dose Of Memes RetroFoxGamer The legend if Zelda is my favourite video game series
I like it.. seems appropriate
@@luqdude oops
Did You Know
This is the best Zelda game ever made, it’s my favorite and it’s what got me interested in the series in the first place
Maybe I’m crazy, but isn’t it “do, re, me, fa, so, la, ti, do”?
You guys switched “so” and “fa” at 6:18.
There is so many interesting facts to learn about this great game.
6:44 "i've seen some shit"
I'm sure you would give that face if a floating camera came though your helmet
Thanks for the video. Didn’t know about the names of the ghosts, or the German names of the builders.
Just a few minor corrections:
• The order of the notes in solfège is Do Ré Mi Fa So/Sol La Si Do
• Deku is only problematic phonetically in French, and only because “ku” would be pronounced the same as “cul”, which means bottom/butt. The whole thing would sound like “of butt”, which doesn’t really mean anything.
• The French translation for the flower bomb (“chou péteur”) is supposed to mean busting cabbage. You are right, however, that the word “péteur” could also means something/someone that farts.
9:58 ayyyyy it's our boy ProJared on his way to reach 100 subs
Great Video! One of my favourite games of all time! Keep up the good work!
Still the greatest game ever created.
I love Ocarina of Time. Such a great game with a lot of interesting facts to boot. Probably my favorite game ever. Keep up the great videos!
Thank god they went to third person! I probably would’ve never played any 3D Zelda if they were first person.
@5:00 that same chant thing ended up in street fighter 5 briefly before they pulled it. Sagat's stage or something like that, I can't remember. They realized it was inconsistent with the location, I think.
ProJared spotted!
Iron knuckles in 3ds, just because they remove a graphic from something you werent suppose to see DOES NOT CHANGE THE CONICAL HISTORY
Can Yuriofwind narrate the Ura Zelda video?
Every time I think I know it all, new facts and findings of this game pop out
Amazing how few Zelda games are bad.
Investing Book Summaries Tri Force Heroes is the worst to me, only Zelda game I don’t like.
So you actually like Phantom Hourglass, Zelda II and Four Swords Adventures?
That's a rarity.
Catriam Flockentanz
FSA was awesome! If you had all the hardware needed, the multiplayer was a blast.
Catriam Flockentanz It’s easy to forget games I didn’t like. I don’t like Phantom Hourglass or Zelda II either, the only reason I remember Tri Force Heroes is because it’s the most recent. Four Swords was cool if you had other people to play with.
The only bad one i can remember was the CDI games. All of them are mediocore or good or great.
It's funny hearing about the french translation. I really like the term "chou peteur" which I find really fitting.
Coming back to the french translation :
Deku can be read "des culs" which means 'asses' and not feces.
Your videos are really interesting, keep up the good work :D
I really hate hearing others mispronounce "Oh-Kar-reena", the worst one I've heard is "Ah-Kah-Rin-er".
I really hate hearing others mispronounce “Ah-kah-reena ”, the worst I’ve heard is “Oh-kar-reena “ damn these people with accents making words sound different right?
So cool that the Ura Zelda topic is getting its own episode. Can’t wait for it!
I still don’t get why OoT original has a higher critic score than the improved 3DS remake.
Nostalgia
ThatNormalBunny It is an older review, also I am surprised the score has not dropped
Quartz Stone
The only thing that gets worse over years is visuals.
Bad gameplay stays bad, good gameplay stays good.
And good critics know visuals aren’t everything, so I think Ocarina deserves to stay eternally 9.8+
Some people were disappointed the 3DS version didn't add content like Mario 64 DS. I know I was
TheKiss
Added boss rush and brought back something many missed out on, Master Quest
always good to know more about the best Zelda game of all time
Yeah, we're savage in france 😎
Also, love your accent 👍
Thank goodness all those changes were made.
Incoming people calling this game overrated
Edit: Ok guys could you maybe stop
I mean... it's a good game but, ya know.
Ŵhîtēł•02 Yeah, even though it is, and those people are hardcore fanboys who will fight you and I for not agreeing with them.
The first dungeon and Hyrule Fields are atrocious. Embrace it, fanbois.
Honestly, it's true.
Incoming person typing out the entirety of that one sequelitis video
so crazy how much this game changed from concept to final product, completely different.
