1.That sounds very painful and difficult.
2.Someone should make a ROM hack of that.
The NES & cartridge wouldn't even be able to render all of that at once. At the very least, not without slowing down to a screeching halt.

The only issue is that you would be limited to 32 levels because of the upload limit in SMM2

That was the first video game rumor I ever heard so I wanted to figure it out for myself. Even came across a crappy screamer with a demonic Waluigi drawn in MS paint. Haven't seen a video game rumor as popular as this one since.

I miss that shit. I was a 90s kid, but late 90s (born in 98). By the time I was in middle school, the internet was big and any rumor could be easily disproven. Wasn't nearly as fun as trying to figure that shit out on my own. I remember how hard it was to unlock Silver Surfer in Ultimate Alliance. Those were the days.

The DS version(s) of Mario Paint sort of ended up happening. Warioware D.I.Y. was Mario Paint's spiritual successor and paid extensive homage to it.

Not a Mario rumour and not a widespread one but I'll never forget my cousin telling me that you could find Mew in Pokémon GSC behind a rock in Mt Silver... I spent a good fortnight looking for that non-existent b*stard
one Mario rumor I heard back when Odyssey was just released was about unused costumes in Odyssey. I can't remember what kind of costumes were rumored or whether any of them were real, but if any were real, hackers probably found them, so there are probably videos out there talking about these costumes.
another hilarious Mario-related rumor was that a Cappy hat was available in A Hat In Time. of course the original game didn't have it, but the modding community for AHIT jumped on it and added a Cappy mod. so that one turned out to be somewhat true.

That Mario Paint DS thing sounds like WarioWare DIY, it's heavilly inspired by Mario Paint and uses a lot of the same assets, you can create animated games, draw comics, and make music. The game also had Wii connectivity.

I'm not sure how people were convinced by the fake "Waluigi in SM64DS" scan, given that the lighting on the Waluigi model looks way off; I wanna say that the creator of the hoax just photoshopped a fake model into preexisting screenshots, but given how they apparently hacked in models for a fake Waluigi cap and Waluigi door too, I'm under the impression that they just botched the Waluigi model that badly.

I'm not sure if it was a dream or not but I remember playing as Luigi in Mario 64. I specifically remember being weirded out because my cousin said there was no 2 player in this game and I remember freaking out and telling him that I was playing as "Green Mario" and he was pissed off because he thought I ruined his save file. I still wonder to this day, what happened there.

Luigi was recently found in old Mario 64 source code, and was able to be modded back into the game, he has a full model, unused sounds, etc. He was found exactly 24 years and 1 month after Mario 64 was released, 2401...
The unused sound were reused for mario advanced 1,2,and 4

I remember YEARS ago I wrote a weird satirical article about how you unlocked the Triforce in Mario 64 an put it on one of those free make your own web sight things, good times...
To unlock the triforce you have to go to the side of peaches castle and do the mario

Here's some additional info about the "Daisy Costume" Hoax (14:54). While the Daisy costume shown there is an inauthentic fan-made sprite, an actual Daisy costume was later added to the game in January of 2016, making this one of the only rumors in this video that fully ended up becoming true.

NoJohns Gamer This is a story I rarely tell anyone: I distinctively remember going into a store as a child and seeing a game titled Super Yoshi Galaxy in there. I wanted to have it so bad, but I didn‘t have a Wii at the time and I never found it again. I probably hallucinated/dreamed/misremembered that shit, but the memory still feels oddly real.

That Luigi in Sunshine rumour was so obviously false - _nobody_ could defeat Waluigi.

Funny enough, that no-death trick does work for other games. Mega Man 3, for example, will let you play through as an invincible Mega Man (falling down holes won't kill you because you have hyper jump and damage does not effect you - but you can still die from spikes) if you hold down Right on the second controller.

@@santiinx737 In the Courtyard, I think, there was a sign. A low resolution sign. Some people read it as L is Real 2401. That's why most people thought that Luigi was unlockable in Mario 64. He wasn't, but it was close, since he would have been part of the planned, but failed, multi player mode. Only a few months before release, Luigi was cut. But his model and such were leaked 24 years and 1 month after release, probably as an Easter Egg from the leakers
Lyra Heartfold the working title for Super Mario 64 was Ultra 64 Mario Bros, so yes L was real for a time. The multiplayer modes the team conceived of had to be scrapped in the end because of the system only including one controller out of the box and tech limits

You can play as Tails Doll in Mario Is Missing by converting the game into a VHS Tape and watching Dream Work's Shark Tail 2401 times in one sitting and getting the DLC code after completion, Master Chief is playable in Hotel Mario by linking the game with Sonic X on the Leapster by melting the games together and putting the game into your Atari 2600, and Elmo with Shotgun is playable in Yoshi Touch And Go! by shooting the game catridge with a gun, eating every single Amiibo in existance, and then hot glue the Virtual Boy to your face and then sing the Gummy Bear Song in your boxers at a child's birthday party. This is legit guys, my 26 year old grandma told me so.

This video took me back to the days where my cousins and I would try to play through Final Fantasy VII in different ways in order to unlock different colored chocobos (red and silver, mostly).
Along with Aerith myths, there were a load of FFVII rumors too, which makes sense, since it was at the same time as the plethora of N64 rumors in this video. I'd love to see one on it, too! Here's to hopeing haha.

But apparently Pink Gold Peach and Metal Mario is more important.
11:37 that sounds a lot like WarioWare D.I.Y., not only did that game release on the DS but it also had a lot of similar assets to the original Mario Paint, including a music and comic maker and it even connected to the Wii through a WiiWare app, maybe that game was meant to be a Mario Paint sequel in the early builds and got reworked into a WarioWare title sometime during development?
