    Thank you for the info!!!
    Mine just failed last Friday.
    I had so much oil leak it went through the intake and out the tailpipe. It looked like a blown turbo.
    This happened at the dealer.
    Do I need have the dealer replace the vacuum pump with the amount of fluid that went through it?
    I have a video if you are interested in seeing it?

    Just bought a 2016 F150, looked at my build date and it was built in September 2016, one month after the last effected month (August 2016). 😅

    13mm front,14 mm back flare wrench on master lines. Just changed on my 2014. Booster was dry. Pedal fixed from hitting the floor after hard braking. Ford was half the price of aftermarket.. crazy i know

    Thanks for the video. Is this really the way this repair is supposed to be done with brake fluid spewing onto rags in the engine bay? Wouldn't the recall also call for all 4x brake calipers being fully bled with fresh fluid? Or no?

    Does anyone know of an website i could go to check if my truck falls under this recall?
    My truck suddenly gave me notice saying low break fluid. Then few seconds later i had to come to a stop and push my break all the way in order to stop my truck while driving. Scary stuff! Could have been in a horrible accident. I did not have any clue of this recall until i came across this video.
    Thank you @Ford Boss Me for sharing this information.

    My 2014 F150 3.5 had a brake failure in June 2021 and we could not find the recall on it. I paid Ford to fix it cylinder and booster. Later on I found the recall and the reason it did not show up was because it had already been fixed at 30K. Now it has 60K and it failed again..... Will talk to Ford about that, does not seem as though that should have failed again?

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 года назад

      @@FordBossMe thanks, It took over 2 hours on the phone, 3 phone transfers but one lady thinks that I should at least get some money back from the usage? Not 100% but maybe something. I have an original 67 GTO convertible and at 130K miles everything still works...

      In a similar situation - original owner 2013 with 110k, recall at about 70k, post recall master cylinder just decided to convert the brake booster into a secondary brake fluid reservoir. Damn lucky I was out in the country when the brake pedal reached politician-level firmness.
      Made it to a gas station 2 miles from an auto parts store. Stopped and checked for leaks, loose Calipers, any reason why there's now a quart of highly corrosive fluid that's not where it's supposed to be.
      Always made fun of the SelectShift until last week when I was limping back home using all 3.5 liters of engine braking. Didn't make any friends behind me though...

    Just had my brakes go out on me while doing 60 on the highway in traffic. I just checked my build date and it was December of 2013 for my 2014 truck. I can't do anything until morning, but I feel like I am going to get screwed. I have no leaks and it just ate an extra ~20oz of fluid. Been researching this all night. I have this issue. How would I not be covered? It's the same parts.

    • @HUMAN_ANALOGS
      @HUMAN_ANALOGS 2 месяца назад

      Update, I got screwed. I had a local mechanic do the work. $$$$ He said it was the same issue that should have been covered under the recall. My wife's expedition had a recall on the master cylinder for the same issue. That one was covered. Today we got the news that the 2014 F150 transmission would unexpectedly drop into first gear at any speed. I think it is recall 24V244. Making this another "dangerous" issue. Now I have to get that fixed. As of today, we are in the process of looking for different vehicles. I am not happy and We are not going go buy anymore Ford vehicles. I am done!

    • @scottk525
      @scottk525 Месяц назад

      @@HUMAN_ANALOGSthank you for the update. I got the recall letter for the transmission as well. But my current issue is my brakes. The right side was sticking so I replaced the caliper. Still sticking. Just replaced the brake hose on that side. Now the pedal floors and the truck barely stops. I might have screwed myself by telling my son to floor the brake pedal while I was bleeding that side while I had it all open. I saw a post about flooring the pedal causes the cylinder to go past the usual distance it's used to and causing the seals in the master cylinder to brake seals due to the cylinder sorry of corroding past the point it's used to? I'm explaining that poorly but if you look it up it'll make sense. Now I don't think I can even drive to the shop to fix this. I might try to replace the master cylinder myself but enough already. Its a 2014 XLT 5.0 V8 "fleet maintained" from a water company. Was the supervisors truck. I'm over it.

    I have a 2013 and just received letter of class action against ford for 2013 to 2018. My passenger front always shutters from dragging and I have replaced caliper,rotor,and pads at same time and still does instantly. Can the brake master cylinder be causing it?

    What actually causes that booster seal to fail in some vehicles and not all, and why is the master cylinder being replaced if there are no leaks?

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  2 года назад +1

      Faulty still inside the master cylinder this is common I mean that's why they're replacing it because of the potential problem with a faulty seal

    Have you had any of these that have had severe leaks into the booster, customer obviously added some fluid along the way, that post many extensive bleeding processes still have soft brake pedals? I currently have 3 we are wrestling with. Not a lot of assistance through tech hotline, shocking.

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 года назад

      Yes you're supposed to replace the brake booster and the master cylinder I have had that happen

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 года назад

      The seal that goes into the brake booster leaks and then drips fluid down inside it whenever you push the brakes so the TSB says to replace the brake booster and master cylinder in that situation

    • @Cody-Blues
      @Cody-Blues 3 года назад

      @@FordBossMe sorry I should have clarified this, this was post replacing the cylinder and the booster. In the situation we have had all the customers have ran it dry enough that air has been introduced into the HCU. And even though we have gone through extensive bleeding and every one of Ford's processes we still cannot get a hard pedal. Ford also has taken out the routine to activate the HCU to help bleed the system. I have a 30 plus year Ford senior master tech scratching his head on this one. Also trying to get the case escalated up high enough to actually talk to an FSE. I just know we cannot be the only Ford dealer experiencing this problem in the United States I was wondering if you've ever seen it.

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 года назад +2

      In the situations like this I've had to use a mityvac pressure bleeder to get all of the air out of the system and sometimes it's taken up to 10 times bleeding it
      also if you find a spot in the parking lot that you can get really really wet with a lot of soapy water and then take the vehicle and run across that spot and then hit the brakes to get the ABS hcu to activate you'll help push some of that air out as well but you have to pull it back and re bleed again and that's if there's enough brake pedal

    Look get get rid of slide hardware it was junk when Chevrolet used it and now it’s junk on Fords I change my brakes twice a year because the slide hardware is rusted in the brake caliper won’t move quit redesigning when you got something it works stick with it these brakes are not working just calls and mechanics and you’ll see quit trying to copy Competitor their brakes haven’t worked for years now all the sudden years how do not work since like 2007 I’ve had this problem with trucks with the brakes and the brake hardware thank you losing faith in the Ford company designers and engineers if it’s the toughest truck in the world start making it be the toughest truck in the world. For driver for life but very upset this worry about quality not quantity of money you got two choices make something last or make something fast as make it last let’s demand it Quick careing about profits more than customers and workers simple simple

  • @ericneering6357
    @ericneering6357 2 года назад

    What you should do is have a contract in the beginning of the sale that says the customer is responsible for half the labor cost of the recalled part and then offer in the contract that people could have the parts delivered to them at the dealership cost if they want to replace it themselves or pay half of the labor costs and they want to dealership to replace it now you save tons of money because most people will do it themselves and this is not rocket science it can be handled by most homeowners and it makes Ford not look like a greedy bunch of criminals stand behind your product for 100,000 miles and people will come back and buy tons more vehicles Quality over profit get it boys

  • @ericneering6357
    @ericneering6357 2 года назад

    You build high-quality and people will buy build longevity into the truck and people will return it simple theory on business build the best and fuck the rest

  • @ericneering6357
    @ericneering6357 2 года назад

    Pretty simple when you cell a new truck you have a paper that says that we have a recall we’re gonna say the other parts and you can replace it yourself simple or if you’re gonna bring it to the local dealership we’re gonna have you pay for half the labor cost and you have this contract signed right in the beginning so now the dealership or the manufacturer only has to pay for parts and have a labor most people would decide to put their own part in so they don’t have to pay for half the labor cost wake up this stuff is so simple even a child can figure out how to fix all these problems you make stuff too complicated. This contract would only cover manufacture defects like the spark plugs like to cam phasers should be a standup company don’t fuck your customers and your customers will come back

  • @ericneering6357
    @ericneering6357 2 года назад

    Disappointing Ford owner think they should recall all of them with the problem not just the ones they have to be a stand up company you make billions and profit there’s no reason why you can’t replace all the master cylinders and all the ones I got a problem all the spark plugs I got a problem quit letting greed overtake safety rail reliability and being the best company in the world to ridiculous losing faith in Ford
