I bought a napa booster. Installed without spacer. Realized what I did and installed the spacer. No adjustments can be made to brake pedal switch. Brake lights always on. Without spacer, bottom two studs cannot be tightened down all the way. Without spacer, pedal doesn't return all the way and brakes are overly sensitive.
I have the spacer in my aftermarket one but the brake light stays on and if you pull the pedal 9:32 towards you with your hand you can see the brake lights turn off, any ideas how to solve that
So you might have to adjust your backup light bracket. On you brake pedal you will have a bracket for you bracket light sensor. Make sure it is not bent or out of alignment.
Hello, I have a 2013 F150 which I have replaced the brake booster and master cylinder. I have installed with the spacer in and like you mentioned, the pedal was in the incorrect spot and caused pressure on the master cylinder. Removed the spacer and now the studs are too long and the nuts don't reach the fire wall. Am I missing something? Edit: I figured out what the problem was, and it turns out, my new booster (Motorcraft) was bad from the rip. Had a hell of a time trying to figure that one out.
So I did everything because you did 2010 Ford F-150 works great thank you so much although I will be approaching to fix I have a brake light still on so I had to disconnect battery till tomorrow we'll see what it is
@@CharlesMattox-pr6su According to parts list the spacer is needed on 2010 to 2014 trucks. You will know if you need the spacer, as the brake peddle will stick out about 1 foot above the gas peddle. The gas and brake should be at the same position.
What was the reason that made you want to replace those parts? I think you woumd up replacing those parts and then replacing them again. What was the original problem?
So I forgot to install the spacer on the booster. I had to remove everything to install the spacer. That is why I mentioned it in the video. The original master cylinder failed and was leaking into the booster. Because I rent these trucks, I don't take the risk of using old parts and replace everything.

@@jasonjones4476 I did the same thing.

So what engine do you have? The spacer is only used on the V6 trucks.
@@chasingmustangs Yeah, I have the eco boost. Thanks!

You might just need to adjust the bracket for the brake light switch.
Thank you this video helped me out a bunch
On my 2011 ford f150 I used a refurbished one from auto zone and the 2 bottom nuts do not tighten all the way up , the top 2 did , brake booster
Did you have the spacer I showed on the video?
No it didn't come with it and the one that came off did not have it but this is a 2011 dose it need it or can I use washers on bottom bolts

So does the duralast booster use the spacer
The duralast does not come with the spacer, the motorcraft one does.
Do you have to bleed the master cylinder?
I did using the syringe technique
no sound
