Yeah, I’m pretty much rebuilding my entire truck. I have a 2000 F150 XLT with the 5.4L with 122K on the odo. I’ve done almost a full tune up with plugs, coilpacks, injectors, intake and intake manifold and gaskets, pulleys, alternator, starter solenoid, starter, belt tensioner, rear window re-sealing, leaf springs shackles and exhaust manifolds soon. Pretty much everything notoriously wrong with the 10th gens, I’ve done or am going to do. Just Did all the lines and hoses, new calipers, rotors, and pads. Bled the ABS module. It grabs and starts to brake at halfway and then it just goes to the floor with minimal braking. Just ordered a Master Cylinder in hopes it’ll fix the issue.
I have a 2002 f150 and i had the brakes and differential replaced and maybe a month afterwards when i would drive the truck for over an hour the truck would start putting bressure and breaking on its own and if i were to let off the gas doing 40mph it would instantly start alowing down. I noticed i had brake fluis leaking from outside on the rim. Would the master cylinder cause that?
Going to get 97 f150,4.6 5 speed that is 6 hours away. May be doing this in a parking lot. Guy says the brakes work, but if you slam on them them it locks the tires up then goes to the floor with no peddle. How bad the the lines leak once you disconnected them?
If you have fluid in the reservoir it could be the master cylinder or the abs module. If you are low on fluid you will need to find the leak, fix that and bleed the air from the system. I wish you the best on your repair
You never specified the exact size wrenches you used to take each part off and waited until the of the video to mention the failed O-ring ! I understood you for the most part
You need open the bleeder screw on the rear passenger side attach a hose to it and place in a bottle with some brake fluid in it. Keeping the master cylinder full of brake fluid slowly depress the brake pedal and then slowly let the pedal come up until all air is out of the brake line. Close the bleeder screw, then repeat on drivers side rear then passenger front and finally the driver side front. I wish you the best on your repair
you will need to press and release many times per wheel. Also keep filling the master cylinder reservoir because if it gets too low you will have to start over on all the wheels@@luxmagnumofficial
you will have a lot of air trapped in the master cylinder and that needs to be removed since air can be compressed making your hydraulic brakes very ineffective. I wish you the best on your repair
no need to bench bleed. that’s only if new and you have it out. you can bleed installed master cylinder in car (if you let line go empty from prolonged disconnected brake line for example) with either the same plug kit he used and slightly stepping on brake (after disconnecting all lines) or by using a bleed kit that has fittings where lines are (not sensor, plug that one) and use 2 tubes from fittings back into reservoir submerge them in fluid and fill reservoir, pump breaks till all air comes out and escapes out reservoir.
Thanks for making this video. I completed the job with no knowledge and had no problem following your video directions.
Glad it helped
the tab towards the end is because of the option of with or without cruise control. if it has cruise control make sure you master supports it
Exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate the tools list also. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Check abs pump assembly also with small wire or srewdriver check both ports under rubber caps look on YT for procedures
I have this exact truck with the same issue. Just bought a master cylinder. Wish me luck
Good luck!
Great video straight to the point
glad you found it helpful
That’s was a great video. Thanks
Glad it was helpful
What a great video! Concise explanation and very clear. Please keep making videos. A+++
Thanks, will do!
Great job. Thanks!

you may wish to look closer at your brake calipers. I wish you the best on your repair
What is the O-ring size for the adapter?

the brake lines will drip a bit, and you should blead the brakes after changing any parts. I wish you the best on the repair
@@bbbjim1fixedit appreciate it
Outstanding.. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
My brake pedal sinks to the floor and stays there, have to pull it back up. Could the master cylinder be the cause?

If you cant figure out what size work or don't, you may want to take your vechicle to a mechanic
I was driving heard a pooping sound now brake fluid reservoir empty and no pressure on brakes
I would check the brake hoses and lines for leaks. I wish you the best on your repair
how do you bleed the brakes??

OK so we only need to press and release the pedal one time per wheel?

OK, and how will we know when all the air is out ?
I mean, how will we know when the air is out of the brake line?
What happens if you don’t “Bench Bleed” the master cylinder?

What’s the valve below it called?
brake pressure proportioning valve, I wish you the best on your repair
Cheers.
