It is a great one of a kind product for learning how to cure Sciatica without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my work buddy after many years got great results with it.

I tried the exercises for the first time tonight and I did feel a little better. The reason why I have sciatica pain is because I experienced this back in 2019 right my birthday week when I was traveling with my parents, my aunt and her mom to Washington DC and New York. I don't want anyone being mad at me but I was wearing the wrong shoes at the wrong time. My legs started to hurt and I took a rest when I was in the hotel. I woke up in excruciating pain in my legs and my mom heard it. She did prop my legs up with a pillow. It happened again on the 13th of July recently when I went to Disneyland. Listen I was walking the whole day and getting on rides, all that walking made my legs hurt and my feet. My legs were aching and when I came home. I started doing yoga by Adrienne dealing with Sciata. My legs does hurt.. yes I was wearing the right shoes my walking shoes.

Im so happy you mentioned that bending forward/forward folds worsen the underlying condition, not many sciatica relief videos do that. Its insane the amount of misconceptions that exist around herniated discs and sciatica.. Thanks for your video! Ive been suffering from a herniated disc for almost two years now, have been in recovery since march, at which point i couldnt sit, lie on my side or back, or stand still without pain. Literally the only way to be pain free was to lie on my belly, or walk. Tough period. I started Mckenzie therapy, where during the first months all i was prescribed to do was stopping ALL my stretching and attempts at healing myself through yoga and such, and only walk a lot + lie on my belly, allowing the bulge coming from the disc to shrink. After a month or so, we added bending the upper body to the right (as my herniation was on the right), to "push" the bulge back in, bending deeper and deeper over the span of two months. After that, id have to do the same thing, bend to the right, but then also pushing forward my hips - essentially pushing it back even further. Id now also basically learn how to sit again, using a forward-slanted pillow to decrease the load on my back. In june i also started physiotherapy, to gain some muscle again, which i had of course lost during this period. Mostly focusing on the core, but also upper body and glutes (squats with a straight back!). Since then, ive improved a lot. I can now sit without the pillow for nearly the whole day - of course, with some breaks. Last step now is to slowly learn how to bend forward again, as the connective tissue in my back, hips, and legs have adjusted to a life without bending. Its been a period of slow progress, but in which i have also learned a lot about my body, and gained so much gratitude for being in good health. If youre struggling with a herniated disc in the lower spine too, please go and look for professional help.

This is the only yoga program for sciatica I've done that recognizes the pain is ALL OVER and gives deep stretches to also relieve the extra tension my upper back and legs deal with from overcompensating for my lower back. I also understand now why doing my usual yoga program will actually aggravate my lower back - it looks like I need to find/create a program with more back bends and less forward bends!

I have been struggling with sciatica for 10 years, I am also a yoga teacher and this is one of the reasons I started teaching. I have two herniated discs and two pinched nerves. I still struggle with it and this video is amazing. Many other sciatica videos don't really help and when your pain is chronic and severe a lot of the poses that are said to help sciatica can make.it worse (pigeon pose etc.) i have found laying with one leg up on the floor is the only way I get relief and this is the first video.that shows this. I have been doing your Kundalini videos and loving learning with you so I wanted to see what you have for sciatica because I have been in a two week flare up.. not able to heal because I have to teach. I am very impressed by this video and I think you are amazing. Keep on keeping on you are a great inspiration and teacher.

As you can imagine MAJOR surgical trauma. But also, being a small person ( and very limber and athletic as a young woman!) yet I needed liposuction in the abdomen to use what fat was there for the breast area. I know it’s a lot. Hang in there with me. I am grateful for my life and my medical care. BUT everything has a cost, right? Anyway, the reverse back bend is absolutely the best for me. Dear Brett, thank you so much for posting this. Could you please tell us a bit more about why forward bends are a no-no? The information on youtube is so confusing, some yogis swear by forward bends, others say they're bad. However, I know you to be both a good person and a well-informed yogi, which is why I trust you.

    • @BrettLarkinYoga

Forward bends can be a no-no if the person has a bulging disc. If the disc is bulging back, forward folding can push it further out, make sense?

For those who have severe or chronic pain, including sciatica, I highly recommend giving chiropractic a try before you go the route of medications and/or surgery to the spine or hips. The side-posture adjustment & "Thompson drop" may alleviate much of the problem through the lumbar back, pelvis and hips, after which yoga and stretching/strengthening programs like this can keep the pain from
    returning.
Here are a few things that can help prevent pain in the first place: Women: Don't wear high heels. If you're in pain quite frequently through the knees, pelvis, hips or low back, the pain relief achieved by wearing lower height heels will be well worth it.
Men: Don't sit on your wallet (in your back pocket).
Men/women: Become "clothing aware". Wearing tight "skinny pants", ill-fitted pants or cinching one's belt too tightly around the waist can bind the hips and because the range of motion in the lower back, pelvis and hips is constrained by the belt/clothing, it becomes that much easier to "throw your back out" by simply bending forward to pick something up.
One thing to watch for in terms of postural reasons for pain is sitting with the legs crossed at the knee or ankle.
Next, invest in quality shoes. Flip-flops and other flats with no built-in arch support are almost as bad for the knees, hips, back (and feet) as wearing nothing but high-heeled shoes.
Finally, become aware of the role of furnishings. Invest in an office chair that supports your particularly body size. (Note: If you work for a large employer they may have an ergonomics specialist who can also help you improve your workstation to prevent pain.) At home, eliminate sagging sofas and worn mattresses. Medium-firm mattresses have been shown in studies to be the most effective at alleviating pain in the spine.

So grateful to have found this video. Although some of the stretches are too much for me on this day, I am hopeful now that my mat will continue to teach me more patience love and understanding for my sciatica, and be on my way to my usual practice in no time. Thank you so much for the information, and the lesson. I appreciate your time, and am glad to have gotten on the mat today when I though it to be out of the question. Thank you.

This was very helpful and brought me instant relief! I like how you tell people it’s ok to modify and move around and see what feels comfortable. I’ve watched other yoga videos where it seems like I’m struggling to keep up and do it exactly like the instructor. Yours is just the right speed and your words encouraging and helpful.

So I'm not typically one to comment on videos but I just had to say thank you. I was born with spinal stenosis which has caused chronic sciatica. I've attempted multiple medications both over the counter and prescription as well as months of physical therapy with no relief at all. I am 28 now and have had sciatica since I was in my early teens. I've learned things that help and things that make it work. My symptoms show up when I stand still or sit for too long. I used to have quite the active lifestyle and was always out and about, moving, and barely sat down for more than an hour at a time. Two years ago I developed a chronic disease after having covid which has completely changed my life. I am physically unable to live the lifestyle I had before and am forced to be sitting at least 90% of my day. Any form of exercise causes a flare and can leave e bedridden for the rest of the day if I'm not careful. I have an office job now to accommodate and am sitting at the desk 8 hours a day. I have been in so much pain! Even prescription medication cannot relieve it, just take the edge off. I have even tried using an acupressure mat before and just general yoga. Today on a whim I thought "I bet there's yoga for sciatic pain" and did a quick search. All of the other videos I saw I didn't even bother trying. Most of them focused on forward bending as well as hamstring stretches. I've learned through experiance that while these stretches may feel like they are stretching the right area they don't help, and often cause the pain to be worse. Just listening to your intro though I could tell you had actually done your research and knew what you were doing. I attempted this routine tonight after work. Usually I have to lay in bed on my stomach for close to an hour after work to start to feel better but this 15 minute exercise gave me instant relief! I'm not exaggerating either. I was so focused on doing the exercise correctly that I didn't really notice until I finished and got up and it was shocking. I had no nerve pain! Now, my muscles hurt because I'm horribly out of shape and it did exhaust me but those are things I'm confident will improve with time. After living basically my whole life with sciatic pain with no sign of ever finding relief you have no idea how life changing this is! I've already got a plan to break the exercise into two pieces so that I can do a few stretches during my two ten minute breaks from work. I'm extremely hopeful that continued practice of this exercise could even completely alleviate my sciatica! Thank you for taking the time to truly research this and come up with a routine that helps from the source!!!

This definitely helped relieve my sciatica pain. She is right on about avoiding forward bends. So many videos, websites, etc. for sciatica pain include standing forward bends, child pose, triangle pose; these are actually painful and aggravate the condition. Thank you!

I got a shingle in 2019. I developed Sciatica 6 months later. I went to Chiropractic about two month and got so much relieved. I am able to handle but still feel sciatic pain and always feel stuck pain in my left side glowing area. I found this video about a week ago. I started doing this exercise in the morning and before bed time. I am telling you this exercise really works! Also my back feels so much better too. I do yoga in the morning and Worrior 1,2 is so painful around groin area. I feel not much pain this morning witch is Amazing! Thank you so much putting this exercise together. I can not afford not to do this exercise every day. Thank you from bottom my heart. 💕 🙏
