Gentle Beginner Yoga For Low Back Pain | 15-Min Yoga For Strength And Flexibility

    We begin with a variation of cat/cow to warm up the spine and hip flexors. Then we move into downward facing dog to wake up the hamstrings, focusing on lengthening the spine. We then move to the ground for some back-strengthening exercises with baby cobra to engage the lower back, hamstrings, and shoulders. Next, we go through a few lower back strengthening exercises, which will help support your spine and back and eliminate the most common kinds of lower back pain. If you've never worked with your lower back muscles before, then it might be uncomfortable. But as you begin to do this kind of targeted therapeutic work, it helps you develop a sense of what strengthening feels like versus pinching pain, in which case you simply back off.
    This yoga strengthening routine is perfect for beginners because you can adjust your practice according to your level. I PROMISE that if you do these exercises once a day, like for your morning yoga routine, then you will strengthen your lower back muscles and lumbar spine, which will help reduce lower back pain that is often caused by sitting at a desk, in the car, or on a couch.

      Hi Brett, I love your classes especially the total body sculpting practice. How do you get your knees slim while maintaining thick legs? I have tried a couple of leg exercises but I end up with thinner everything. Thanks!

    really nice practice before going for a walk for lunch, as I began writing this though, I wonder if it released a lot of fear emotions because while on walk a lot of stuff regarding self-value came up. Thank you...Brett, I needed that dose of smell the coffee ...show up for yourself even when you're not feeling yourself:-)

    Difficult to activate the right muscle groups. In the first one I felt mainly middle/upper back. In the last one - belly. Any tips? Or just careful practice?
