Cool guide, and no one was injured, dope
They had to edit it down to the one minute of usable footage. The rest of it was straight injuries.
Linus was not involved, so nothing dropped
Damn that didn't change a whole lot in 3 years, just the price
wym
Some things didn't seem to change that much. But I assumed the CPU and the GPU is better. There isn't much else that matters or needs to be upgraded that I can think of. Until we get new tech. Nvme can't improve much more in ways that matter to consumers. PSU hasn't really changed in over a decade.
Just needing bigger ones but I think 700 has been standard recommendation for over 5 years because overkill was always recommended for the psu.
Case can't do much. It's just 4 walls and cut outs
Heat sink can't change much. The principles they work on don't change.

But then you're going to have to pay the extra for ddr5
This ends up not being true especially for 1k
@@boolaidman471 If you budget right, it's absolutely possible. I've literally built a 7500f and 6800 PC for 1k.
@@TheRealKateBishopFan and you skip out on so much it’s not worth it, the build in the video is way better
@boolaidman471 It has a better CPU, a nice motherboard, better DRR5 RAM, a 2tb NVME Gen 4.0 drive, a 6800 (more VRAM and generally better performance), a nicer looking case, and an A-Tier fully modular PSU. You haven't even seen the build bro
Man this is eye opening. Back in 2019 when I built my first pc with a 1000 dollar budget I had a core i7 9700k 32gb of ddr4 and a Vega 64 and the cpu was cooled by an aio. You used to get a lot more mileage with this budget
Yeah, well we had 22% inflation since then. What could you have built for $780 in 2019?
To be fair you still can for that budget and you'd get 60 plus frames high 1440p on all games but if you wanna push forward hit the same in 4k yeah... thats another story. The 4090 is just a number now man.
@@Mustango5 Bro i was about to write that NICE 😂😂😂

Quick, strait to the point! Love this guy anytime hes on the videos
Drop the fully modular power supply for a non or semi modular bc you’re right - 8GB of RAM isn’t enough, switch to 16GB modules of RAM instead of dual 8’s.
dual channel runs faster. actualy double the BUS speed.
Seems overpowered for 1080p high 🤔
Although I guess it all depends on the frame rate you're looking to achieve.
Ikr my rx6600 gets above 60 at max in pretty much every game I played
You can definitely utilize 95%+ Gpu on triple a titles if you're willing to max out your graphics setting.
Depends on the game and settings. Older games that could handle 4k. Modern titles 1080-1440 is about right.
It's not very overpowered for 1080p on high
No it's not
I feel like swapping the cpu/mobo/ram to something like a 7600 and a 5 would be much smarter than the 5700x3d route. May pay a tiny bit more now, but you'll actually be able to upgrade cpu to something
agreed!
5700x3d is a super super solid cpu still
On a 1000 dollar budget I wouldn't yet. For am5 to be worth it imo you'd need to be getting 32gb of ram. Otherwise when you upgrade you'd literally only be able to Reuse the motherboard at that point because you'll most likely want 32gb dual channel. In that case I'd go for a good am4 setup and then buy all new when I upgrade the next time.
@@gamewatcher2712then get 32gb of ram
The only thing i would change is change PA120 for PS120 (phantom spirit 120). Because PS120 is just an updated version of the PA120 for basically the same price. Does a little bit better cooling.
Thank you so much bro really helped me out on finding the right specs for the right parts
This build is really good, however personally I would swap the 5700x3d for a 7600 for better upgrade ability and future proofing. Not only that, you will get DDR5 & PCIE Gen 5
Don’t you have to swap the MOBO for that too?
That would have likely put this over the $1000 budget, or made them sacrifice more to fit the more expensive platform and memory.
I think you're completely missing the point here man. The R5 7600 is an AM5 chip and the B550M is an AM4 Mobo. That would put this build over the $1000 budget and those parts aren't even compatible.
Yeah, except for AM5 platform you have to buy DDR5 RAM and at least B650 so you could properly set the things up for 7th gen ryzens. Which might be way more expensive than AM4 platform with DDR4 and B550 or even B450.
@@Brockzillagaming i am going to build this with the 7600 for just 30 bucks over 1000, but i have a cheaper psu..... this might be possible because i live in the netherlands, but our ram and ssd prices are alot more expensive here

I definitely recommend checking online for a used GPU, can save you money and get you something a lot better. Otherwise not a bad build and not using a cheap AIO (water cooler) is absolutely the way to go.
Air cooling is better (performance, durability, price) if you have enough space
@user-eb1jk9lb9o y'all need to read "and not using" 🤦

I LOVE THIS GUY ❤❤
he's getting better!
I think he's finally recovering from falling down the stairs.
To me, the big takeaway from this video is that you can save big on a build like this with used parts.
1000 is a tough sell for the performance you get here imo, especially compared to console. But you could easily get similar parts for way cheaper on the used market. Thats when PCs really shine imo.
Slap a 6800 XT or a 6900 XT in here instead, and you got a 1440p powerhouse that will last for years to come.
You need to remember not everyone likes buying used and give up warranty on some components
The build itself isn't bad, but suggesting a 7700xt for 1080p, heh...you can still get away with a 6650xt/7600 for that, saving quite a few bucks.
And also opting for a 6800, that has same performances, isn't a bad idea, yeah, you give up ray tracing, but honestly the 7700 doesn't shine in that regard
@@thunderarch5951 I understand that. I'm saying if you're not gonna go used in this price range, at least for the most expensive parts, then you're better off just getting a console. My first 2 PCs were almost all brand new parts. It was a huge waste of money.
100% agree with you on that. The only brand new parts I've bought for my pc over the past 10 years has been my lian li case i got a good deal on at microcenter and an AIO watercooler

The 7700XT has been the best graphics purchase I’ve made in a while. Got it when it first dropped and it’s fantastic, especially when paired up with an X3D like this or a 12 core undervolted
I would probably invest into AM5 honestly but this looks like an amazing build
Go for the Phantom Spirit, it’s like $10 more but an improvement and replacement for the Peerless Assassin.
16gb ram? Laughs in Cities Skylines
It’s probably a good idea for a build like this to pony up what is often a few dollars difference to get DDR4-3600 RAM because of how much performance Ryzen gets from fast memory
8g for ram is perfectly fine, I have a 3060ti with 8 vram and it plays any game on medium to high graphics, sometimes ultra and it does it with ease, just gotta get your settings dialed in.
Thanks Samwise, safer than trying to take that bloody ring to mordor. Not that LMG is much safer lol. "One does not simply make a video, and safely, with Elijah."

Got very similar build in EU 3 month ago for like 1100usd tax included that I am happy with: msi b550 tomahawk, 2tb kingston kc3000 (maybe too fast!), 32gb 3200mhz viper ram, r7 5700x and rx 6800 16gb (on par with rx 7700xt and hard to resist for 400usd tax included). 850w 80+gold modular adata psu and imo very sleak be quiet! shadow rock slim 2 cooler. Finally a bit expensive yet worth all the money fractal design north case in white.
Fun fact: first case I got was torrent compact from fractal, but the long a** rx 6800 from xfx (34cm or 13.4 inches - no kiddin) didn't fit, so I had to change for fractal north for similar price and I am so glad I did! North feels so much prettier with better build quality and my temps are great with this spec with stock fans and one cooler fan only. North just looks even better irl than on images while the torrent compact has it the other way around unfortunately.
IMO it's gonna get you a little less performance but getting am5 would give you an upgrade path and you wouldn't have to replace motherboard, cpu, and ram at the same time.
Ngl tought this would be better but its alright
Cause for 1000 not getting a 7800xt is criminal
didnt know they offered that case in all black.. I went with the black and grey.
Also the upper m.2 spot is usually direct to the cpu
To what he said about the pcie slot, depending on your motherboard the first one will not be a gen 4 and may be a gen 5 this could cause issues with your speeds. And for any extra storage make sure to format it

Get a 650W bronze rated, up to 700W max output psu. Then use the extra money to upgrade to 32GB RAM
Or get a Kolink Enclave 700w 80 Plus Gold. They retail for ~$100 ($50 cheaper than the RM750e), is fully modular, and it's B tier rated on the Cultists Network PSU tier list. Which is a very good rating if you know about their tiering methodology.
Went waaaay into overkill territory with a 750w PSU.
5700X3D and a RX7700XT would be perfectly served with a 500W PSU. I'd rather have another SSD or even 32Gb of RAM instead...
I have the same case and let me tell you, I also had a very tight fit with my gpu
I hope the q300l v2 doesn't have the same issues as the previous version.
Has some flaws:
1.) The M.2 is the cheapest 1TB brand name and after some time it starts dropping the capacity I don't know if it gets to hot but I didn't investigate.
2.) I would buy another case to save money cuz personally I don't care about the look , just the performance. I would build it in a cardboard box if I was invested enough to build it.
You guys need to make a video on ram heatsinks.
