  • @DengKevin
    @DengKevin 5 месяцев назад +32

    If someone wants to replicate this build, then I would advise to change some of the parts because there are parts that are a better choice for the same or cheaper price.
    CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black -> Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE
    RAM: GSkill Trident Z Neo 16GB 3600 CL18 -> Corsair LPX 16GB 3600 CL18
    SSD: Crucial P2 1TB -> Intel 670P 1TB
    The Thermalright Phantom Spirit is simply an amazing air cooler for the price that has similar performance to the legendary Noctua NH-D15. The Hyper 212 Black (2023) doesn't come close.
    The RAM changed to low profile because cheaper, fits better, and same specs. SSD changed because same capacity, DRAM cache, and cheaper.

    • @DengKevin
      @DengKevin 18 часов назад

      @@LowKeyOfficialYT The T500 is a good SSD choice.
      The cooler will fit into the case. I have personally used the Thermalright Phantom Spirit inside the NR200P.
      There are some dependancies for the cooler.
      1: If your RAM is too tall, then you'll have to use only 1 of the 2 CPU fans. If you want tall RAM, then 1 fan is perfectly acceptable if you have a Ryzen 5/Intel i5 CPU. But I highly advise getting low profile RAM
      2: If the motherboard CPU socket is higher than average, then you might not be able to use a 25mm 120mm fan as top exhaust, and will have to use a 15mm slim fan instead. Most boards should not have this problem.
      3: If you don't have sleeved flexible Power Supply cables then putting the 2nd fan above the RAM might pose a problem if you don't have excellent cable management.

    The tempered glass version also fits with this cooler (but might be out of budget). You just need to take off the decorative caps at the top of the heatsink which cover the heat pipes (two screws on the top plate) - I run a similar build but with a Ryzen 5600 and rtx 3070 with two fans on the top and get temps around 65c-70c when gaming under load. While the TG does turn things into a little hotbox, I just can't resist staring at what I've built, I'm a sucker for the RGB lighting!

      Basically it should be okay even for an i9 14900K so long as you limit the power consumption to roughly under 200 watts (you only lose less than 3% performance on average when limiting it to 200W vs stock 253W by the way).

    I built in this case recently and I have to say, cable managing the PSU is _very_ important if you've got a card like an FE with a passthrough fan. Otherwise you risk those cables coming out of the PSU dropping straight into that fan. Not a concern at all with normal dual/triple fan cards.
    I ended up using slim noctua fans on top as exhaust and rotating the CPU cooler 90 degrees to exhaust upwards as well (Noctua will give you a 90 degree adapter for free if you're using one of their products) for negative pressure since the case includes dust filters for the bottom and both sides. Built a little 7700x/4070ti mobile gaming rig and I'm very happy with the result, the NR200P was fun to build in

    Great setup at this budget. I have this exact case and couldn't be happier with it. In terms of temperature management, it stands out as one of the best ITX cases available, albeit slightly larger.
    With that said, based on my testing and based on the testing done by Machines & More, I recommend moving the 2 bottom fans to the top for the best temps.
    The bottom fans are mostly optional and primarily contribute to reducing GPU temps during idle, likely due to modern GPU fans not spinning at idle. Additionally, make sure you have enough room at the bottom for the standard 120mm fans. In my case, I have the Asus RTX 4070 Dual, which is roughly a 2.5-slot GPU, and I can only accommodate slim fans. Standard fans already come into contact with the GPU, which is suboptimal for minimizing turbulence.

    Awesome video as always Optimum. Is there a reason that you set the GPU intake fans to not go over 70% utilisation? Is there a point of diminising returns after 70% fan speed vs noise created?

    • @magnuswf
      @magnuswf 5 месяцев назад

      Probably just testing to see where temps are still decent, and noise are obnoxious at high fan level.

    If you're a smart shopper, you can get a 6900XT for the price of a 3080. And it curb-stomps the poor 3080, while using less power

    meh, ryzen 5600X is about 150€ rn, best value by far. With the savings you get a new 6700XT and can game at 1440p and even ultrawide 1440p comfy.

      @EmperorFeatherFlight 5 месяцев назад +3

      Yep, exactly. I don't understand why optimum never recommends amd GPUs ever. I've seen a couple amd cpus, but even here like you said the 5600x is simply just better than the 12600k, especially considering how terrible the memory controllers are on 12th gen intel.

  • @petertrex
    @petertrex 5 месяцев назад +2

    13500 is also a good option for the same price, it's slightly better at both multi and single as well.
    Has less cache so might want to choose different CPU if you were to use CPU heavy load

      Thats right , but the 12600k is already overpowered for 3080 gpu.
      In think the Reason for this vid is Intel still has a lot of 12th gen in stock. Its not a price Sensitive vid, because the used ""z" mainboard insted of "b".
      Also everything in this price class should be bought used, because the market is flooded with it (except gpus , they are more rare).

    at micro center, i'm pretty sure they're still running mobo+cpu+ram combos for 400 usd. you can either get a 7700x, 32 gigs of ddr5 ram, and a b650 mobo or a 12900k, 32 gigs of ddr5 ram, and a z790 mobo. you will need to get a more mid range gpu tho, which means that maybe its not the best price to performance combo? anything like a 6700xt should fit in the budget fine

  • @PyromancerRift
    @PyromancerRift 5 месяцев назад +3

    The ryzen 7600 is a better pick. It is equal to a 5800x3D in gaming and compute, use way less power than intel and AM5 will last way longer.

    hey a built a super similar build earlier this year! inspired by your sff build videos. I went all AMD with a R5 7600 and RX 6800. build came out over $1500 because I bought everything new. this was also in January this year so it was a different market. love to see that I got the fan configuration right for an air cooled build in the NR200

Its been great for gaming, code compilation and writing code, video editing, and some 3d modeling. My previous pc was a i7 4790k with a GTX 970, a 1 TB HDD, and 16gb of RAM, so that in and of itself was a huge upgrade. Id like to wait for 1 or two more generatiojs of GPUs before upgrading again

    • @Cainny
      @Cainny 4 месяца назад +1

    • @NeePscambaiting
      @NeePscambaiting 4 месяца назад
