He was really quick back in the day
He was. Great fast break player in his early years.
I love that question "for how long r u gonna be staying here? For as long as nowiTzki needs you??"
Holger says ofcourse! 20yrs later hes still there for dirk! More than 20yrs hes been like a father to dirk! im gonna fucking cry!!! Without holger maybe we dont have a dirk!!! *THANK YOU HOLGER I LOVE YOU! You are the best!! U & Dirk*
Wow, the matchups in this series 🤥 two all-time great PG-PF batteries: Stockton and Malone, Nash and Dirk...I love this game.
A changing of the guards really
Dirk matched up well against the greatest power forwards to ever play. Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Karl Malone, Pau Gasol - Dirk torched them all.
You tripping not pau gasol Chris Webber better than him in Elton Brand in Chris Bosh in Amare Stoudamire
@@michaelmccain257 stop. Webber didn't accomplish anything. Pau is way better.
@@jimmyrodriguez5670 Are you serious? Webber was a FRANCHISE #1 player who was a controversial if not fixed game 6 of the WCF from most likely leading the SACREMENTO Kings to a title. What was the furthest Pau Gasol ever LED a team as a #1? He was the best player on 2 straight Memphis teams that went to the playoffs, and got SWEPT both years. He won his championships as a #2 to Kobe. Webber was a franchise player. Pau was a great #2. There's a difference.
Duncan was 4-2 against Dirk in there 6 playoff series. And I don't remember Dirk and Duncan ever much guarding each other.
@@Riles3152 there's also a difference between their teams. A DRASTIC difference. The Grizzlies never had a roster like the Kings had with Webber. How could you overlook that? 🤨
Dirk is a beast back in the day. Really athletic and agile, not lumbering and slow like many PF in that era.
Plus He Had A 3 Point Shot
THIS IS GREAT! PLEASE KEEP UP WITH THESE DIRK VIDEOS FROM THE EARLY 2000s!
All Time great PF's going head to head. Just like it should be.
Don’t forget alll time great PGs, Steve Nash and John Stockton
I believe this was the first time the Mavericks ever won a game that was played on NBC. I remember a big deal being made of the fact that Game 1 of this series was the first standalone national network TV appearance by Dallas since the CBS days in 1988/89. Their few appearances on NBC prior to that had all been regional only.
Watched this series years ago and was looking for the highlight where (I forgot the broadcaster) went crazy and said "Dirk Nowitzki is a flamethrower!"
This is before the one-legged fade away.
Luka and Nowitzki tandem would be deadly
3:05 what first step and then dunk against Malone. 'wow'
Used to be a regular thing in his game. He did it against all of the best PFs in the league.
3:06 is one of Dirks best dunks
i miss this squad dirk. steve nash and micheal finely was a beast back then
I bet at the time Dirk and Steve thought they would be the next Stockalone
Randy Olliff why not, but Nash and Dirk do it mostly in the highpost and 3 point range
That is my favorite trio to use in NBA Hoopz for PS2/Dreamcast
One of the GOATS!!!
Reunion was a much more home field advantage compare to the AAC.
Love these throwback clips!!!
The Mavs' first postseason win since Game 6 of the 1988 NBA Western Conference Finals.
He was so quick, agile, with that beautiful fadeaway. He amazing.
It was one of the stunning upset in the nba playoffs history
Is that Mike Breen commentating? If so that is crazy! Straight legend!
He deserved more credits than Garnett.
nice vid!!yeah we need more :)
That "Dankeschön" bei Holger at the end. haha
I need to find the whole game 4. That was as loud as a Mavs game ever was. We won by 40 I think
he played 48min wow~
Holger!
The only post season Dirk played in Reunion Arena in the original unuforms
These aren't the Mavericks original uniforms, they're similar, but not the same as the 80s ones.
❤
Karl Malone was still one of the best in the league this season.
I've watched Dirk's whole career. he was never as athletic as Markannen is
How's Markannen's athleticism and team record in year 3? Oh right, team tank. Can't even put the vall on the floor full court and half court. Whooping 13 ppg 6rppg lol
