When Dirk hit that Larry Bird-esque sideways, off-balance shot, I knew that the Mavs were going to steal that game. When I watch the play right after that one, I can hear the crowd gasping as Dirk spins, fakes and drills that ridiculously tough fade-away like it was routine. This was just one of several outstanding performances during the 2011 playoff run. I’m eternally grateful for the memories.

For those who keep busting our balls with how many points Harden scores these days... THIS IS HOW YOU SCORE 40!!! With 20 shots... not with 30... if you shoot 30 times you score 40 points then I don't need your 40... you just forced shot after shot to get them... sorry but if you give any really good scorer in the league 30 shots in a game he'll get 40 most nights...
Anyway... this was a BIG playoff performance by Dirk... that 2011 ring of the Mavs was so incredible... Dirk got inducted to the pantheon and people have no idea how ridiculous is that Dirk won even one ring in his career... the refs hate the Mavs cause of Cuban, the Mavs never had another true star besides Dirk, the 2011 team was full of vets that everyone was calling washed up, they faced ALL the best teams in those playoffs and beat the shit out of them... and most important... Dirk never left to find others to gift him rings like Lebron or KD... he kept pushing and pushing in his own team... he wanted to either win for HIS TEAM or not win at all... so yeah... that one ring means so much more than a ring while having Wade and Bosh to push you to it... or having Steph and Klay to help you cruise to a ring... btw, for the idiots that say only KD is a snake... yeah... Lebron and KD did THE SAME THING... they went to get rings easy by teaming up with 2 other top 10 players in the league...
So yeah... RESPECT TO THE GREAT DIRK!!!

    2011 playoff run favorite games
    1. Start off with that game 4 sweep in Dallas where we set the record for 3's which was later broken. Epic game because I wasn't going to celebrate anything until the clock went to 0 against the GOAT Kobe Bryant.
    2. Game 5 okc which I believe was that OT game that sent okc home.
    3. Heat series, that final 10 minutes of the 4th quarter was the best part of that series minus that last play that dirk had in game 6, ball at the top of the key with that little spin move and lefty lay in.

@@Riles3152 it never really matters how much talent guys who make HOF are on the team, if they never fixed their flaws hence 2024 modern time, its a strong indicator they would have never won, its always about how a system is set and how guys fit with each other and how well they play their roles to win a chip, thunder got far through iso and speed, and pindowns, but certain teams would have figured them out already by that time

The Mavs seemed content to get that one title. They haven't come near putting a TEAM together to make another run. They have to put some pieces around Luka if they want another chip.
