    This 2011 Mavs team was clutch in so many ways shooting, passing, defending, free throws. It’s nice getting to re-watch all their playoff wins while the Coronavirus has everyone self-distancing.

    • @JoshCConnor
      @JoshCConnor 6 лет назад +6

      Asmosis Jones 2 problems with that argument is it depends on the personnel under Phil. If he's got Jordan and Pippen with the 90's Bulls teams not only will GSW cave under the physical pressure but no one can stop Jordan and they're far more defensively sound than these Lakers were. If you have Kobe and Shaq then no team today would have an answer for the inside out threat of them plus they played great defense too.
      Secondly part of the weakness in today's NBA is if you get a lil physical you can stifle any team because they can't flourish under that pressure. It's the main reason the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead.

    this was a pain to watch as a lakers fan. all those role players peja, terry and barrea were dropping 3s all the time. kidd had the game iq and dirk was a force. LA lost the series but more importantly it led to their breakdown. phil jackson retired and cp3 trade was vetoed. odom wanted out because he was hurt by being included in the vetoed trade. they traded d-fish also for ramon sessions. in 2012 playoffs, okc was too athletic with skills for la to handle. in 2013, they got howard and nash but it did not work. the game already signaled in 2011 three points were the future. cp3 trade would have refreshed the dynasty but shooting for howard was a huge mistake. sad to see they wasted last years of kobe with trash players.

      Dirk ISOed in the midrange at the elbow & midpost but at the same time was surrounded by shooters like Terry, Barea, Peja, Kidd and Deshaun Stevenson & when teams doubled Dirk he can kick it out to a shooter. Could be that those Mavs were better than anyone gave them credit for. They swept the defending champion Lakers. Then beat the OKC Thunder with Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka, Perkins in 5 games. Then beat the LeBron, Wade, Bosh - Miami Heat in 6 games. If you look at the shooting numbers in the playoffs for Dallas, their percentages - especially from 3 were off the charts.

      What about the 2004 Finals for Kobe?
      And we go on and on for both players.
      Fact is, Kobe is more aggresive than LeBron. He is more selfish, so to say. He takes tougher shots for himself. This sometimes leads to bad results for his teams. For LeBron, it's the opposite. But overall, Kobe can hurt his team more through his bad shot taking than LeBron can through his fear to shoot.

    • @Sheboygan.
      @Sheboygan. 6 лет назад +7

      Overreaction to one moment. 1. He took a bad shot with the clock running down. He could've passed to Odom who had an open look, but I'm not that confident Odom makes that shot. 2. Using that moment to define Kobe ignores the times he has trusted teammates in similar moments. There were plenty of big shots in the '09 Finals when he made assists to Gasol and Fisher, as well as the game-winner in G7 of the 2010 Finals from Artest.

  • @BallSoCookie24
    @BallSoCookie24 5 лет назад +3

    Idk if it's because the Lakers were old, bored, or if Dallas really figured em out, but the Lakers very easily could have won games 1 and 3. Kobe's knee injury from the NO series might have been a factor, as Kobe basically played like shit this whole series.
