Most underrated NBA player now. Should have more All-Defensive Teams and All Stars.
He is clearly not underrated but less appreciated maybe. Ever since he had won a chip in MIL, he got the respect he deserved, he was recognized as one of the best 2-way individual player. He was underrated, but not anymore.

This man literally broke my heart in G5 in 2022 with those two defensive plays on the guy that we had to replace for.

If Jrue got it it would also be deserved, but lets not pretend one is clearly better than the other when that is simply not the case, theres almost never one right answer to the MVP, DPOY, first team all NBA and all other individual trophies (some examples do exist where theres only one clear choice)
Real Defender, doesn't flop, doesn't talk too much, just play the game, body to body.

It still bugs me that a lot of people blame smart for the second play. The main action was clearly for a horford pindown on tatums man to get tatum open at the top of the key but neither of them moved when the ball was handed over so smart had to do something :(

Because Jrue can’t be the 2nd-3rd option like he did in Bucks with his inconsistent offensive performance , especially with Middleton being injured. Now he is just the 3rd-4th option of the Celtics which he can focus more on defense. And his offensive performance in this series is like night and day compare to previous two series.
