All jokes aside though, I heard a lot of things about putting a CAI in these cars, so I did a lot of research and went with the inlet tube combo w/ air filter, I did this with my previous FR-S, so decided to do it with this one as well, simple easy mod to do with your car!
Plus it cleans up room in the engine bay since we're also deleting the sound tube!

Things that were installed/done are down below!
- Perrin Inlet Tube from FTSpeed
- K&N Air Filter from FTSpeed
- OEM Sound Tube Delete
Tools needed also down below!
- 10mm Socket
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Phillips Screwdriver
- A friend to help/hold things (not needed but easier)
The Perrin inlet tube isn't supposed to sit that crooked or almost touch the accessory belt, are you sure you didn't install a hose for a 17+ model on a 13-16.
Also fuck k&n, the particles those filters allow into the engine can often be larger than the piston clearances on the FA20. Not worth it for a little noise and throttle response.
It’s cringe how much you don’t know what you’re doing.
It’s almost as if… wait for it… we aren’t born with the knowledge we learn from mistakes and feedback/ criticism 🤦🏻♂️
😂😂😂 I was thinking the exact same thing. “Timing belt” is when I was just done.
(He also bought the wrong inlet that one isn’t for his year model the one he has the for a 17+ (which frs never came in hence the rub on the timing belt 😂))
@@Readimple404 so he should’ve learned before making a video “to teach people”
You can’t teach someone somthing that even you don’t have the knowledge to….. maybe his brother should have made the video
What's the purpose of the sound tube?
to pump engine sound onto the cabin
@@proctor9443does it give more hp
@@ABM1971 nope :/
Where’s the turbo??? Lmao were you talking about the alternator lol
Should’ve turned the car on. Did it make a difference in noise?
Where did you get the OEM Sound Tube Delete?
Great video
Thx
No need for this stupid tube. Very clever mod.
ty
how you got launch control??
what’s the filter part number
What’s the benefit of removing the sound tube? And is the car in the video automatic or manual?
Sound tube serves no purpose other than to let engine noise into the cabin. You can keep it or delete it. Makes no difference, performance wise.
I noticed a delay in terms of throttle response with the Noise Generator on. When I capped the hole, the response got reduced and feels more responsive.

Can it pass smog check in california?
It passed smog in Mass. Mass has carb as well. But they don't do visual inspection under the hood.
The fact that you have to is hilarious
Can you explain to me why I should do this instead of cold air intake
Just get an intake, neither of these mods will give you a noticeable power gain. The only benefit to putting an intake on these cars is basically the sound. It will definitely give you some sexy induction noise that the stock intake doesn’t have
@@eternalglow6483 oooooo I do like that
Lol no he can’t bro called a serpantine belt a timing belt and told us he put a new turbo on it when it don’t even got a turbo
It’s self explanatory intake by itself it’s useless all for noise
But if you go intake and exhaust you’ll notice a change
You welcome correct me if I’m wrong 🤙🏼
Because intakes on this car requires a tune or at a very minimum, rescaling the maf sensor...
