I can't believe you've made it here! Most New Zealanders have been to "The Mount". It is a right of passage to go there during the summer holidays, get chased by the po-po for drinking in a booze-free zone. When me and some mates did it in 1987?1988 you could still sneaky camp on the beach. Got "rescued"on my (hire) surfboard by the lifeguards when I lost my way a bit: I couldn't wear my glasses in the water. Ah... road-trips! The way of life during school summer holidays. Now my sons are at an age to do that. Lolz, good times.
My dads from hawks bay and damn from the first time I went to nz I never wanted to leave. There’s like crack in the air and it makes you never want leave. Grabbing your jandles and togs and going down to the sea with just a chillybin with some ice creams you got at the dairy, walking barefoot everywhere and the people are lovely. Man I miss it.
