They now sell a bundle that includes a pop filter AND wind screen for about $18-$19. Seems simple enough to setup, so i'll definitely be picking that up

Jared R the mesh on the mic does a pretty good job, i havent seen much of a difference with and without it. However i would recommend a windscreen to reduce the amount of times u need to clean the mic

What’s the wind screen for?
Elite Instinct the windscreen is for certain sounds for example the p sound because there are large wind spikes in the mic so that controls it

Yes because the pro is the exact same as the standard the only difference is you can use xlr with the pro so I believe you can use the mount arm.

nice, my question to you then would be do you think I would need a shockmount? since I record and its technically still on the desk what are you thoughts on that? like can your mic still pick up bumps and whatnot through your desk since there is no shockmount? or does the boom arm have enough to obsorb most of the vibrations, and if you don't know that's cool too lol
@@FPSJeremy Yeah I really think you should, it's not that bad with typing on a study table but impacts do give a noticeable echo from the vibrations and I think you will benefit from a shock mount.

I ordered This but it came with the microphone stand holder already on it. I don’t know how to get it off, so I can place the yeti onto it. How do I take it off??

the thing a lot of people dont do is go to the windows control panel go to sound settings go to record and change change the quality to 48000 hz to improve the audio just a bit more and also to change the volume level from 100 to 50-60 in the microphones properties. I have done this and increased the gain level of the mic to about 30-50% range depending how far you are and the mic overall sounds so much better and picks up far less noise.

Not sure if you'll even see this but I ordered this one aswell and I see reviews saying that you'll need thread tape. Did you need any thread tape? Or did it fit snug, from the video it seems like it did. Also, great video :)
It's came with tread tape I think it's been awhile thanks you might not need it but

Howdy Josh. I recently picked up a Blue Yeti and I'm on the hunt for a boom arm just like this. You released this video about 7 months ago, but how is the arm holding up? In your video it seemed to be really stable, but with the Yeti's weight I'm concerned that this might not be a good long term solution. Can you swing back around and let us know how well the arm is doing for you, and if you're still using it?
Yea still works great some times i have to tight up once in while but worth the money

Nope just have mic pointed right way and gain is half way

Thank you for the video. I believe I'm using the same arm. The problem is that when I hit the desk (or even typing on the keyboard) it still makes that "boom, boom, boom" sound :( The only solution for now is to have another piece of furniture to hang the mic. Suggestions?

How would you say it has performed a year later? Does it still work good with the additional weight of a pop filter / shock mount? And are there any complaints you have that would make you not recommend this to someone now that you've spent some time with it?

@@JoshTechgamer Awesome and thanks for the reply Sir! It seemed like a decent little stand in the video but with the price range on it I wasn't sure if it was worth the money a year after upload. Then again I really don't want to spend $200 on a huge one for no more than what I use it for.
Also one more question, does it swivel back and forth? I only need it to move prolly a foot either direfction.
What adapter did you use to screw the Yeti onto that arm? I had to use the plastic adapter that came with my cheap boom arm and it's stripping out. You look like you have a metal threaded adapter.
yea it was with my old boom arm you can look on Amazon for the piece

I got a different boom arm from Amazon, it fit on the Blue Yeti but Because the blue yeti weighs around 10 pounds the boom arm sags. It won't stay up and always just slowly falls down. Will This boom arm support the blue yeti without the sag. I also plan on getting a pop filter and a shock mount so will that'll add extra weight.

does the little gold metal thing come with the stand cuz my last stand had a way too small end for the blue yeti, it didnt fit so it was pretty useless.
