I appreciate you showing us everything, all the bits and steps to get it set up. A lot of videos show the parts and then skip straight to doing sound tests after putting it together off screen. It's very helpful to someone like me!
I have to tell you, after watching your video and doing some research, I'm getting that mic (with a pop filter). I've never owned a nice studio-style mic before, but the way you tested it was reassuring, and everything you did form taking it out of the box and assembling it was also exceptionally helpful. Many thanks for making this video my friend.
I might have to check this out - I get really bad background PC noise when I'm doing Lumion tutorials because the PC fans spin up and my PC is on my desk - maybe one of the pattern selections would help reduce the background noise. Thanks Joseph! :)
Thank you, Justin! Don't you have Blue Snowball which also has cardioid pattern? You might wanna try speaking to the mic closer, lowing the gain and move the PC under the desk :P
I’m picking this up soon, and this makes me even MORE hyped. I have a mic and arm mount now, but both came together in a bundle, and are pretty budget. Now this? This is going to be SICK
Thanks. I bought this kit and saved over 100 bucks to buy all three items separately. Sure it made my old mic collecting dust but this mic is better anyway.

What are your thoughts after you have owned this for a few months? I am about to order one, but I have been exceptionally nervous about the boom and how well it will holdup and move over time.
@Eric Marceau I moved on to the different mic atm. It is true that the mic is quite heavy. It does the job, but there are other alternatives out there.
@@JosephKim Yes, visually checking peeks in real-time. I use Sound Record and I have no way of knowing if gain or volume needs adjustment for any reason.
I'm shocked at how well the audio is. I've had one for about 5 years and I don't think mine sounds like that. You didn't do any filters in obs? Mine sounds closer to the 4 ft away even though I keep it 1-2ft. not too mention hyper sensitive to sounds. But something I found out recently is you go into sound settings and turn down the microphone volume, which in turn makes it so you can turn the gain up/down with it being way less sensitive.
For optimal sound quality, stay close to the microphone, ideally about one foot away, and ensure it’s set to cardioid. Remember to speak into the front of the mic rather than directly on top of it. All of this demonstrated in this video. Great mic, great sound, great video.
This might be a dumb question but I’m buying a USB port so I can use this mic on my other set up and plug in the port in the wall , what usb does this have what type? , and do I have to use any software for this mic or just plug and use? Thank you💜
How do you deal with the arms tension at the top. I hear that from many users they have problems properly adjusting it even for 30 minutes straight. Loosening, tightening the tension so that the upper arm would stay in a specific spot without it automatically moving on it's own.

It use the old style small usb because the original Blue yetty mic from over 10 years ago had that and they dont want to make new mics incompatible.
I understand it was like that before, but what is it trying to be compatible with?
Wow I'm very impressed. Also very nice review, thanks.

Was your shock mount threaded? Mine has no thread, I'm thinking factory defect.
It is not threaded. You should have had a bolt. It's between the foam, you have to look carefully.

Hi, Joseph Kim.
Can I know the length of Yeti Caster usb?The basic Yeti usb length is 2m, but I was wondering if there was a difference!
I think it was 2m as well.
Thanks for the video. You didn't go over the base that the arm sits in. Is it heavy or do I need to clamp it on to something?
You do need to clamp it to your desk!

Really good result. Much better than camera one. I am wondering is there any post processing applied?
Nope! Just gain boost.

DONT DO THAT BUY ELGATO WAVELINK. THE BLUE YETI IS GARBAGE COMPARED TO IT.
Friend what gain u had it set high or low on 6:22 sounds real good.
I don't recall the exact amount as it's been awhile. But I generally try to have it at 50% when starting and adjust from there.
Is the pop filter bought seperately?
Yeah, I had one from my previous mic.
hey! how do you flip the audio? you know, for the audio to come out on the left channel when you go left and vice versa when you do binaural
Usually the video editing software will allow you to control that.
@@JosephKim thank you, i appreciate it
Thinking about getting this! Only pne thing. Over half of the reviews said that the arm went flying all the time, is there a reason for this?
Yeah. TBH, the arm was not designed well. I'd say it works about 30% of cases.
Was there any post processing done on the audio?
No, just gain change.
Sir, what kind of desk is that? Thanks
You can find out in my studio setup videos!

No, no filter at all. I also am always struggling with sound too. I never know what I am going to sound like.

Does the part where the mic clamps to the boom arm rotate up and down so the mic isn’t hanging?

Canon M50!

Hello do u know how to get off the yellow piece once you attach it? I had to get a new shockmount and I can't get it off.
I just used a pair of plier and turned gently.
@@JosephKim gotcha ill try that.
Hello, can the arm hold the blue yeti sideways ? Or does it have to be in that position, coming down hanging over like that?
It can hold it sideways. But the arms has somewhat finicky resistance system that only holds on certain positions.

It was a small speaker bar from Amazon I believe. Now I use a small stereo from Logi.
