Well I agree with all the lovely comments. You are a wonderful teacher & I am understanding this double crochet now. I’m 76 & have just started to crochet as I too are quite house bound with very bad Fibromyalgia & arthritis. My other half passed 13 years ago so I live alone now with my little Yorkie. A friend comes in to exercise her but she is my little shadow & loves to cuddle up. She snuggles into my back & shoulder but it doesn’t stop me crocheting or trying to.

I'm an "intermediate" crocheter, but I don't do it for a while and need a brush-up. This is perfect to get me back into crocheting with some tips I did not know before and will make my projects look better. She does a very nice job of explaining and showing exactly what to do. Watch this if you already know how to crochet, but are not an expert, and also watch if you are a beginner.

I love d/c, because it's so easy for my MS brain to remember and it's easier on my MS/arthritic hands. ;) I learned to crochet from my gramma, when I was about 13, but could not remember as an adult. So about 3 years ago, friends suggested I look up how to crochet videos here on RUclips. I did, and have come a long way. Once I got the hang of it, I looked up videos on how to change colors and have done so in afghans and scarves. ;) I am so grateful for people like you who take the time to make videos like this! I won't drive anymore, (due to the MS and seizures, so I don't have a car), and my friends all work (of course) and many are busy with family, so I am home alone a lot. So crocheting has literally helped keep me from going bonkers! ;)

AmazedbyHisgrace1 Hi, I'm bedridden due to "Failed low back surgery syndrome", and am home all the time as well. Except for once every three months, when I have to "go" to hospital to have my morphine pump implant refilled. I feel very lonely too at times, and am also beginning to pick up crocheting again. Itt's hard for me as well, because it's so painfull after a while, because my arm muscles don't work properly anymore either (I have a neck implant as well). I would like to learn how to knit again (used to be able to, but that was when I was in my twenties), but am hesitant, because the knitting needles might not be as handy to work with in a bed as opposed to a crochet hook. I don't know if you will get this answer to your comment, but I hope you do, you are always welcome on my FB, just maybe, if you're interested that is, send me a PM first, so that I know who you are, since I don't know your username on FB. Hope to "hear" from you soon. Take care and God Bless !

Keeping you and Nadia Verbeeck in prayer for healing and relief from pain. I too learned crochet from my beloved granny! Her pieces were coveted by young and old alike. I too put down this lovely hobby for many years...with the wonderful news that I am a soon to be "glamma" myself I've turned to youtube for crochet refresher and find these videos amazing and very helpful! I wish you and Nadia Verbeeck great success with your crochet projects.

I taught myself to crochet watching videos on YT. What helped me learn faster was doing a big project. I decided to make a maxi cardigan sweater and I noticed as I was almost finished with the back panel how well I was doing and how loose some rows were at the bottom 😅 so I unraveled the whole thing and started all over. Now it looks evenly nice and neat! Repetition was key for me.

I am just learning to crochet and am branching out of just doing SC and trying new patterns and designs. I haven't made a blanket yet but im sure once I do ill be making them left and right. Thank you for your video. The next pattern I'm going to practice is the DC.

TheMrsbullard I’m trying to make a blanket out of only SC 😂 it’s going, but very very slowly... the double crochet was too intimidating for me!
