THANK YOU! You did a fantastic job! This was the easiest, fastest, and best blanket I have ever made! For those struggling without the pattern written out-try pausing the video as you go, and rewinding when necessary. I did this and rewound for the ends until I had it memorized. I made a GIANT version for my husband, pups, and I to share, and it is amaaaaazingly soft!

I just finished mine and it turned out lovely! I did 117 chains (+3 for the turning) and that was pretty sufficient for a larger blanket. I used 6 sheins of the 300g Bernat Blanket yarn and just kept going until they all ran out. Will be making more and will probably buy more sheins in order to make the blanket extra extra extra large :) Thank you, again!

I've been crocheting for years (decades, lol). I've recently been looking for a really simple, and somewhat open (with holes in it) pattern for this beautiful, thick, furry chenille yarn I have. Making a gift for someone. I tried a couple other patterns, but besides being too intricate for this kind of yarn, you can't see most patterns through the fuzziness, anyway, Then I came across your tutorial and I think it's the one! Can't wait to try it with this yarn. Also though, When you held up your own complete afghan, I immediately saw that it is the exact pattern of the blanket my great aunt made for me soooo long ago as a graduation gift! It is even the same color. It was very special to me because she was older and even blind, yet she went through all the trouble to crochet this beautiful - and huge! - blanket for me : ) Somehow, I lost it years ago in a move and I always felt so bad about that. But now, I can recreate it since I see this is the exact pattern! I am grateful for your tutorial and that I stumbled upon it!! Well, I'll recreate it after I make the first blanket w this soft, fuzzy, pale green chenille yarn. Thanks 🙏 😊 Also, it's cool to see younger people getting into crocheting. It's so easy, quick, and it's so rewarding, right? Plus, there are so many gifts you can make for people and they always appreciate a beautiful, handmade gift. Keep on hookin' ; ) ❤

Thanks for this video. I found some super cute chenille yarn (size 6) at the dollar store and it was $1 for 65 yards so I bought 8 figuring that's what I'd spend on yarn. Then I had to decide if I was gonna wrap something or try to learn knitting or crocheting. I did a bit more research then randomly bought a 10mm crochet hook then figured out that kind of stuff mattered so it was a blessing to find this tutorial right away for the exact stuff I already had on hand that was easy to follow. Thank you!

Just started trying to teach myself to crochet. Slip knot no problem, I can do my chains good. I have been practicing SC. Now I am ready to practice DC. I really want to make a baby blanket for my Neice who is due is April. We'll see how it goes. I run into either adding a couple of stitches to losing. Stitch or two along the way. I need to figure out how to keep my rows nice and straight. Think i need some of those row markers for a while. Still I'm motivated so we'll see how things progress.

Love the intro! 2 questions. How many chains wide is your blanket and how many skeins did you use? Thanks!

She says multiples of 9 +3 if that helps any.

The blanket is pretty, but it's a little confusing. Do you think you could do another video with thinner yarn? Thank you.

Thanks for the tutorial. For the size you made, how many chains and rows did you do to get that size?

A good video only one thing. You should have showed your stitch in the first row to the end. So really new crocheter's got to the end and started new row.

Thank you for that wonderful tutorial. You did a fantastic job! I’d like to order this yarn to make this blanket. Can you tell me how many skeins of yarn you used? Thanks again! 🌷

So sorry if I’m being dumb here but after the row where you DC into the chain do you go back to DC into the big space then next row into chain again if that makes any sense ??

Do you have written instructions? Or pattern? It's confusing at the beginning because first you skipped 2 and then no skipping.

    • @madelynbrewer6775

Annie Cancel she skipped two so that she had a turning chain. most patterns have a turning chain and it’s just a couple chains to give some height before starting

      @bloomwiththestars 4 года назад +2

Hey Annie, I tried skipping two and at the end pulled it out because the holes that created looked too big. Right now, I'm skipping one hole and then making two double crochets in the next hole and it looks much better, to me.

Love this! Have made a baby blanket using this tutorial and am now making a bigger one but wondering how big it will end up with 6 skeins of yarn.

Best beginner crochet video I have seen yet! Could you please post another one with a worsted weight yarn as it would be easier to see the stitches :) With a worsted weight yarn how many stitches do I need to chain to make a nice size blanket for while I'm laying on the couch ?

    • @veronicam4699

Hi, think you would need to measure how wide you'd like your lap blanket. Then crochet in multiples of 3 , plus the 3 at the end.

Monica, I notice that Bernat Blanket yarn comes in large #6 in 10.5 oz., and in smaller 5.3 oz. That's why I'm asking about the quantity of balls and the size you used. Thanks again.
