I have been "crocheting" for about 6 months now and why has no one in any other video or irl explained that I was yarning over not enough and pulling through the wrong stitch? Finally!!! We have a capable teacher here on RUclips.
Just a friendly reminder that title RUclips is a pretty big place and the content you will see, even in search results, is very algorithm driven. There are plenty of capable teachers out there. Don't make the mistake of thinking that the first one RUclips showed you is the only one (or even the one who has been there longest).
thank god for someone who goes slow and explains stuff as they go , desperately trying to make a blanket for my pregnant daughter and its all scallops and turning and I cant wait for my tutorer to open her store
Oh, thank you so much for this intricate tutorial. All the ither videos I watched just rapidly performed the stitches, started midway through the project, and didn't supply instructions on how to follow onto the next portion, so I learned absolutely nothing. Im a visual learner so those videos that just rush through everything aren't useful at all. Your video is so helpful!
Yay thank you ! I am so glad I found you !! lol i did it so much easier than I expected !! I watched a couple videos and I wasn’t getting it. I watched your video and bam !! I hope you have a video for circles lol
OK, I started out with 50 chains and I added three so that’s 53 and then I turned and went to the 3rd chain so confused how many double crochets should I have? I realize I wasn’t supposed to add three to the foundation chain but since I did, I would like to continue how many double crochets should I have though?
@@CrochetWithDelight thank you that’s what I got🙃😀 so I did it right!! So when I start the next row, that would be the second row of double crochet do I go into the first stitch?
Gina Frechette I have another video for that! It’s called “Simple Border” and you can find it if you click to my channel and look at the list of videos.
Are you talking about the sides of my sample piece in this video or a piece you’re working on? One easy way to have a straighter side is to crochet a border!
@@b0bb11 SO! I found out I was not letting the tension do it's own thing. I was tightening on the first double loop pull-through instead of holding the post lmao

7:23 is what I came here to learn, and I'm so glad it's just "stab it and hope for the best"
Same haha!!
man ive spent the last few days struggling but this video finally taught me how to double crochet!

This was very helpful for the last stitch getting done into a turning chain. That's the part that keeps tripping me up
Thank You. I truly struggled with that part as a newbie. You are a true Gem 💎 of God 🙏🏽❤️.

You’re welcome!

Awesome! I certainly do have some videos on circles! I’m putting out a series on beanies this week which covers crocheting in the round
My grandma is just like her she teaches me and there both excellent people/teachers
Please use light colored yarn for tutorials. It's easier to see the stitches.
do you skip a chain each time? like in 2nd row 1st stitch
If you want it slower change the speed to .5 for a drunk sounding person and slow-mo
Are you crocheting into the back, back facing you, after you make the turning chain?
What about making stocking for Christmas but the heel?
where to place that last double crochet of the row is the hardest
Yes! And the fist dc of a new row is tough too
Once you've done the first row, it looks like you go into the 5th chain from the hook when turning.

51, I think 🧐

@@jrjt21 yes but make sure it’s the first double crochet and you’re not putting an extra stitch in you turning chains!
how do you single crochet around the edge of that double crochet piece.

thanks for the video. but why do my holes get bigger as i crochet?
I’m wondering why the sides are rounded at the end of every row? I’m looking for it to be straight, is that possible?

Great video, but I wish you had used white or a pastel colour so it's easier to see.
I’m confused but shouldn’t it be 17 double crochet if you had 20 minus the 3 for the first stitch?
You should go in the 2nd chain instead of the 3rd
thank you for the tutorial my child is going to learn it everyday
she said she will save you vid so she can just watch this on offline
Gaah how am I doing the exact thing you're saying but it looks so drastically different
Two months later and it looks the same now haha I have no idea what I did wrong but I've moved on to Tunisian now

Thank you so much. Its been years since i crocheted and im trying to make a baby blanket….i know what was going wrong now 😊
I don’t like how my blanket sides be rounded

i keep messing up :(
It’s practice !!!!
You will mess up if you go by this video. She sounds like a beginner.
Was doling good untill I noticed that my yarn is too small :(
That wool is too dark to see what you are doing.
Should never teach with dark-colored yarn. Too hard to see
Dang it, I thought this yarn was lighter! Haha. Will do better next time!
