I’m not a Harry Potter geek but we played this for spring concert i didn’t really like much of the song but our director let us run wild during showdown and as a low brass we made the room shake
As a bass clarinet player, 4:06 is my favorite part, I'm so glad I got to do that part at my concert and I'm glad I soloed that too! It was my dream to get my first solo. I'm happy I got to complete my goal.
As a flute player, the beginning is a sure favorite of mine. My fellow flute player and I play, kinda having a solo. We might only have 2 flute players this year, but we both are able to play the beginning
I played this in 5th grade (in 8th now) and it brings back so much nostalgia. I played the alto sax solo and my best friend played the flute solo. It was a great song to play.
i really wanna do this in my 7th grade class but most of us were onlline so we didnt get alot of band time, i mean im in indrmediant but i only have been playing sence aprill of last year. i just really wanna play this
I remember this was one of the things we played for a band competition my freshman year of high school and at the ending I began to cry because of how beautiful we sounded.. with even more we ended up getting great judge ratings for the first time in years on something and won two trophy's.. It'll forever be the greatest year of my life..
I love this piece so much it lets all groups of the band shine in their own way. It’s so beautiful. Glad i got to play this my senior year of high school.
I suggested for my hs band to play a Harry Potter piece for our concert in October, and I definitely didn't tell my director for us to play *this* , but I'm so so glad that he chose this one. It's absolutely beautiful and the fact that we get to play my favorite piece, not just by John Williams, but my favorite piece of music in the history of forever, "Leaving Hogwarts" just makes me so happy and excited for our upcoming concert when we play this. I'm planning to wear my Hufflepuff scarf once we do our October concert!
Two weeks before the concert, our band had sounded so good on this song and we were doing so well. And then our band director just straight up said “Eh not really feeling it” and switched it out for some crap Disney piece. Haven’t been happy since and it’s been two years
I played this when I was in sixth grade, I was a tuba and I still play, listening to this song (especially the end) gave me the chills and a nice wave of nostalgia
Yeah yall other instruments are lucky, I play the Timpani and have to wait 90 measures before I finally get to play. best part for Timpani is measures 199 to end
hopefully 2023 is the year i will play this piece for 8th grade spring concert, along with like 3 others that are movie based (also ill be asking my music teacher to give some of solo parts and french horn parts.)
We have one soon. In like 10 days. It will be okay I promise lol. I have first part too!, but if ur afraid . Take the anger you had before and play that into ur trumpet and you will be confident. ( play good tho) also I believe in u good luck
My teacher wanted to let the 2nd trumpets have a chance to play first so me being the best one in my section was triggered so I showed my director by memorizing the first part entirely then she gave me the first part
I’m not a Harry Potter geek but we played this for spring concert i didn’t really like much of the song but our director let us run wild during showdown and as a low brass we made the room shake
