I’m playing this in my winter concert next week
Played this back in 2015 with the North Shore Junior Orchestra (NZ) - a lovely arrangement and great to hear & acknowledge themes from all of the HP composers (Williams, Doyle, Hooper, Desplat)
No trombonists stepped up to play with the orchestra this year, so I played this as a euphonist 😶
Oh! Same!
Played this at my concert!
I remember we played this in 8th grade and I loved this!!!
This was the last thing we played at our pops concert, I'm in 8th grade advanced orchestra and it was our last concert together so it was pretty emotional. Especially when we got to Leaving Hogwarts, everyone was crying while playing because this was the last thing we played as a group together. The story is so much longer than just that, cause our orchestra teacher came here 4 years ago, so we were his first group to put instruments into our hands so we're his babies. He was teaching in a highschool before coming to middle school. So before be played this piece, he said, "Ladies and gentlemen, for the last time, my babies." And the whole orchestra was crying. And the piece before, Bohemian Rhapsody, we played it as surprise for him since it's his favorite song, we gave him gifts, we gave him itang, (inside joke), an old violin painted white with all our names on it, and a baton that has "Your babies are all grown up" engraved in it. It was so emotional. This piece will always have a special place in my heart. And one of the basses gave a speech about how amazing he is and how hes like a father to us, when the bass gave our teacher the baton he asked our teacher, "Will you conduct your last two pieces with your babies with this baton?" and he said yes and my stand partner and I broke down in tears, even my English teacher was crying.
aww thats sweet
