I love looking back at pieces that I once thought were "hard" and "advanced" when I was in 7th grade... I'm now a senior and would love to show off my mad skillz to 7th grade me lmao
I'm in a 7th 8th grade orchestra and this song is very good for our practices! It isn't good enough for our performances but we used it to practice allllll last year! I highly recommend it!
I'm in 7th grade and I play the violin 1 part in this. All I have to say is ever since my orchestra got this piece, we fell in love with it. Every Friday we do requests and this is probably one of the most requested pieces. We're planning on playing this at a contest as well as Finale and A Soldiers Hymn. Can't wait for everyone to hear this piece because it's beautiful
i’m in 7th grade playing the cello part! honestly this has been everyone’s favorite piece. we sight read it as practice for lgpe and sight reading in general, and we fell in love with it and kinda and our teacher let us play it. this song is sooo gooooddd
i'm a violist and we have all-county orchestra auditions and this is one of the two musics that they might pick to play a part from. i'm so nervous but this is my favorite song!
in my school im a cello player and i loved this piece when i tried in my school, it was sooo good i demanded my parents to bring there whole army of friends to see. For context my parents LOVED showing off and im not a fan of that but this only moment i am letting my parents to bring the whole army if they can hahahah
Im was a 1st violin for the varsity orchestra in my junior high, and i had a free period, so i got 2 orchestra classes, and got to play cello too for the non varsity group, and we played this, and i had just joined in the middle of the year, and i thought i was cooked, but i managed to learn bass clef after being used to treble, and managed to make it from last chair, to first, and that has been on of my biggest accomplishments, and im thankful for my directors who let me do all of that.
Yeah I was seeing if I was the only one who noticed that too, some parts in the piece sound like a mix of beyond the thunder and deep sea fandango combined which is kinda ironic since all 3 pieces are made by the same composer
who else is kinda here because they’re playing this song? (I’m a freshman in high school and play first violin XD) Edit- currently a junior in highschool playing this AGAIN WNEBHA first chair 😎 Edit 2- damn now im a senior 😭
Soggy Waffles well, this is the song that we have to perform for our assessments. sadly I can’t choose what it is. I learned to play it in 7th grade so I guess it will be easy lol
Last year (8th grade) we played this and for out state assessment and it was definitely the most peoples favorites and probably my 1st or 2nd favorite peice I've played.
I play in 2 orchestras, Varisty as a violin, and Non-Varsity as a cello, and we are playing this for Non-Varsity, and all I can say is that we can play it, except our inner voices can't seem to get their fingers in tune at 54 and it is slowing us down, and we have a concert in a week. Plz pray for us 🙏
I started cello at the beginning of my junior year(aka this year) since my orchestra only had one, but was moved to violin to add volume since they don't play loud enough. Just in time, too, since this is one of our pieces now. Though, seeing the cello part, I wouldn't mind playing it still lol
Im playing this for my december concert, and my orchestra kinda sucks at it. I really hope we get better! Edit: I play cello, and the measure 54 onwards has been kinda difficult for me.
As a viola bro this song was the best, just like measure 32 I think where we get like two or three measures of melody. My orchestra sucks at including the violas, like okay we are normally a background sound but like they’ve done songs where cello gets the melody the whole time and then bass and obviously violins but no viola songs lol😢
Bruh everyone here is talking about how they though the song was so hard and now it’s easy while I’m stuck here in HS saying, “I mean it isn’t that easy guys” :(
One time I forgot my cello and sung this with my mouth making a "doo doo doo doo dun dun dun doo dun dun dun dun dun" noise. I did not receive credit for this assignment submission.
Why did you forget your cello?
Mia Cherba because I was in 6th grade and didn’t have brain function. Not much has changed tbh

First page of 2nd violins is still pretty bland with a lot of 8th notes. However, I really am fond of the cello and 1st violin parts.

I play bass and this song wasn't disappointing for my part. I really loved my part sadly covid hit and we weren't able to play it all together.

Just as a viola sitting there for like two minutes listening to everyone else play before we do ☠️☠️
Kind of reminds me of Beyong the Thunder because of the free feeling you get from listening but also the feeling that something bad is about to happen
Yeah I was seeing if I was the only one who noticed that too, some parts in the piece sound like a mix of beyond the thunder and deep sea fandango combined which is kinda ironic since all 3 pieces are made by the same composer
