Listen to eek-a-mouse before you go surf I promise you you'll be more relaxed and overthink things less when you got "wad do dem a wa do dem dem dem" stuck in your head the entire sesh 😂
You've got such a great arch in your back when paddling. I can't do that any more. When you're scratching for a wave and you don't think you can get it (as at 4:22) I wonder if you can drop your head down (slightly more forward) and get your arms deeper into the paddle. That helps me catch more waves. I arch when I've got the wave and am in danger of nosediving.
Have you ever tried out a pin tail, not like a full on performance longboard like the TJ pro or Gem but something like the neo classic? Ive only ever riden pin tails or diamond tails and just would want to hear your perspective.
Hmm well, your stance really helps with balance. Make sure your shoulders are pretty open, little bend in the knees, and most of your weight on the front foot. Give that a shot!
That’s interesting. I’m a lot more comfortable nose riding on my backhand too. I wonder if it’s just because there is no good left hands breaks here and I don’t get any practice on my forehand?
@@LongboardSessions I’m in noosa so I reckon 95% of my surfing is on rights. Occasionally there’s some short left beachies to practice on. It’s just interesting I always assumed that forehand noseriding would naturally be much easier kinda like barrel riding.
@@LongboardSessions heck yeah! Great insight of what you're thinking in the heat of the moment too. Something I've been trying to work on, having presence of mind in the heat of the moment to make better decisions of how to ride the wave.
No, just slightly bigger than usual. I think people might be mis understanding when i said "this sessoin was big".. I meant "big" when it comes to improvement haha.
There are 2 people in everybody's head, you and your subconscious. The other guy is you slave but he is easily confused by you interfering. When you first get to the beach your both working with each other and this is the time to suggest to the other buy to try something different. But after a few waves just let him/her go do the stuff they know. You will bother have a much better time. 😉
watching these guys gear up for an hour, get their camera guy set up, tool around with cameras was comical. wasted time futzing around while fun waves were breaking just so you can be an "influencer".
I don't know man that seems like a huge part of the hobby for them. Maybe you and I don't like to do that, but it seems like they're enjoying that aspect. The laughing and joking together makes it pretty clear they're having fun. Maybe we try to see that others approaching hobbies differently than us isn't a bad thing. I don't know about you but I'd much rather be happy laughing with a friend than sitting out there pissed off at how others are approaching this beautiful sport. Just a thought.
The microphone acoustics are awesome! And I love the vibe in your local line up. Haven't seen so much courtesy, fun, and playfulness in a while.
Thanks so much!! Yea we love to have a good time hehe

And here I thought I was the only one 🤣
Alright.. just listened.. I'm doing this next session hahaha
Just added it for tomorrow morning, thanks
This is me erry day 😂
Amazing video! I love what you said at the end " Mastering the art of relaxation during mayhem." So sooo true.
Thanks !! Yes, that really sums up surfing to me latley haha

Ah yes, the deep stroke. I actually have been trying that lately.. def works!
I really like the MuM series, just raw footage and real audio. Also, it validates my own self-talk silliness out there.🤙🏻
haha awesome! It's great too because we quickly forget we're mic'd up... so it's as natural as it gets
From my living room here on Kaua'i that pipe and jetty looks like either S.L. or S.G. 😃Nice session!!!
haha... Well done 😉.
Love this concept man, such a cool idea with the mic. Would be sick to see you do some interviews during contests 😂
Thanks bro! Yea I totally want to try this and do an interview in the water.. that would be awesome
@@LongboardSessions oh yesss that would be awesome!
Reminds me of 5 summer stories
You've gotten a lot better my man. Looks like fun!
Thanks so much! getting there hehe
Great and entertaining video. Can you do a video comparing squaretails to pintails?
That would be super fun! I'm sure i'll do this in the future
Such great advice. Thank you!
You got it!
Serenity now 😂 love the Seinfeld reference. Great vid as always!
Any chance I get I throw in a seinfeld reference haha! In my latest video i did a curb reference.. same thing lol
Always good stuff. Cheers and keep smiling.
Thanks !! Wil do
Love the fun lineup energy
Thanks! We like to have fun hehe
This video sounds great! I'd love to know what you used, and how you used it.
Thanks!! Dm me on insta @longboard_sessions
@@LongboardSessions I don't use insta, but keep up the good work!
Reminds me of when Corky Carroll duct taped a mic to his chest. Love the format.
haha! I didn't know about this, just watched! Hilarious
rad video. mind me asking what mic setup are you using to capture audio in water?
i absolutely love both of you!!
haha thanks so much!!

I have tried a pin tail once, but it was a 9'9" so it was a bit big for me. I would love to try one my size for sure!
i can totally enjoy this format
Awesome!
lookin good, stylin. Did yah have fun, yes you did. What beach ?
Thanks!! too much fun
@irishman3375 it’s North Korea. Firing this time of year.
Npr no paddle required, nice session and always finish on a good one 👣🏄♂️
Thanks!!
That was a fun one
We love npr waves
Sooo good, what mic did you use?
Thanks!! Just the one that comes with the zoom f2
Nice one 🤙🏽 and mate what’s the mice u use
Thanks!! Zoom f2
i love your videos man

Thanks so much! Working on one as we speak hehe
do you recommend anything else on balancing?
Hmm well, your stance really helps with balance. Make sure your shoulders are pretty open, little bend in the knees, and most of your weight on the front foot. Give that a shot!
How big was this 4ft?
No idea... I never know how people judge wave size
So these would be 6'. But no one would ever call these 6' haha
2-3 ft
Wave is taller than me when I'm at the bottom. That's why these wave measuring discussions are impossible haha
Amazing!
Thanks bro!! Lav mic audio mixed by anthony.. I can't take credit haha
Awesome video dude! What mics do you use for this?
Thanks!! Zoom F2
@@LongboardSessions cool! How do you keep it waterproof?
Wait how are you able to take a mic in the water
Secret! Haha only joking. I waterproofed everything with bags and latex gloves. Little bit of a rig job but works great!
Do you use Crooked Surf wetsuits?
Just started trying em out!
@@LongboardSessions is Yamamoto rubber really one size warmer than regular neoprene?
Hmm. Hard to say. Talk to me after the winter lol
The in-the-water convo is proper. 🤙🏽 What’s your recording setup?
Thanks Aaron! Message me on insta @longboard_sessions
Loose the leash on smaller days. It will help your style and wave selection. Less is more. Swimming is good for the soul
Yes! I rarely leash up
Or maybe consider the safety of others in the water for when you inevitably kook out. "To be a man is, precisely, to be responsible"

Very well may be! Are you in Cali? Here in NJ, in general, we get mostly rights. So goofy's get good at backhand here
@@LongboardSessions I’m in noosa so I reckon 95% of my surfing is on rights. Occasionally there’s some short left beachies to practice on. It’s just interesting I always assumed that forehand noseriding would naturally be much easier kinda like barrel riding.
Don't worry I'll bring the clementines 🍊
You da man!
da best
Where is this in NJ? What kind of conditions do you guys need for clean waves?
Monmouth county! We need some sort of swell with a west wind (offshore). Normally 2-3' at 8 seconds is big enough.. for longboards atleast
sooo good
Thanks!!
I talk a lot in the line up. But dang! You're even a chatter box ON THE WAVE! haha.
But hey, different strokes for different blokes. Love ya work
hahaha! I do love to mutter to myself... why not mic it up eh? haha

Killer pop up
thanks!!
I️ have surfed 14 ft 17ft faces in new Zealand and I’m only 12
wow awesome!
Lefts are fast, your taking off quick & style is really coming together... Too hard on yourself
Thanks so much! Yes very critical, but I'm quite happy with the progress

haha that's basically what it turns into. 4 waves of solid thinking and then enjoy
Longboarders talking about performance is adorable!
Adorable is what we're going for
I was doing airs on my longboard in the late 90s. You have no idea how good some of us are.
Don’t know a thing do you really
Just let it run
Alohaa
Yeww!
I surf waves this big and I’m 11
great job!!
Calm down bro
if you dont surf dont start!!!!!
Maybe just surf … trying way too hard … this is what makes most people who longboard look silly … just surf
smoke a doobie...

What you call 'futzing around', I call fun. Different strokes.. as long as we're all having fun right?
@joshelsonnj you must be fun as hell to hang out with and futz around with. 😂😂
