We're painting our house, I was looking for a slate gray or blue gray color so your first combo is perfect!
It IS a sneezy time of year…Love that you kept that in.
Keeping it real Barbie!
I am loving your channel. We purchased A 4500 square foot home, built in the 1940s. Lots of trim and details, that former owners went with a monochromatic yellow ochre. I can’t wait to get inspired on what colours to pick!
Ooo have fun and let us know what you decide!
Your videos are great!!! Thank you!!!
Totally loved the cut-in's and edits of this one! 🤣
Hey thanks! It's the little things you know? lol
I love Ambitious Amber & VerdiGreen!!!
Nice!
I would love some advice on what to do for a brown roof exterior home.
Here's what I''m thinking for our house with existing non-red brick and warmer whites/browns vinyl:
SW Sealskin trim/garage, SW Alabaster main, & SW Rainwashed as our accent/front door (our front door has a canopy)
Hello I'm new to your channel. I'm delighted in finding you. We chose the paint colors Evergreen Fog with the Urban Putty. The home painted is a corner lot with lots of greenery and trees and haven't been painted in over 40 years. This was the choice hands down.
My neighbors stopped by with a handful of flowers and complimented the enhancement. I caint thank you enough. Looking forward to adding peppercorn entry doors.
May I ask which color is your main color. Evergreen Fog?
We are painting our home with a new roof in a shingle of white, brown, black. and orange speckles that give off a Golden appearance. The windows are also new that are white. And the body of the house is new stucco. I am leaning towards a slate blue for the body. With the roof giving off the gold tones I am thinking of an accent of a tan for the outline of the windows, & doors. I am getting some good ideas from these RUclips shorts. My actual comment is you show all your combinations with only a black roof. I went with the golden shingle because it was light so here in Fl that is good for the reflection of heat. Perhaps you could show the homes with a choice roofs. Besides the black a metal roof (very popular here in the South) a lighter color like our golden tones and one or 2 others. Thanks, James Young.
Peruvian Orange house TerraCotta roof (has orange red and gray) Bright white trim and brushed nickel accessories redwood stained fence and eaves big time garden surrounds the home. Whatcha think? 😅😅😅
A sky bright blue accent on doors and shutters and one door is lavendar
Hmm, it is fascinating to see your combinations! Thanks for sharing with us. I’m not a fan of the yellows or peach, tan, yet you make it work & it is for someone else’s taste.
I was wondering if there are ideas for a already painted White House, like just do trim & shutters? Also curious what would avant-garde look like?
Hi Taunya, definitely trim and shutter and your door can add some drama to a white house. Whatever you do do will stand out more. Also plants and greenery can soften the look of an all white house. And what DOESN'T avant-garde look like lol!
Would love some choices with tangerine colors for interior. Home has natural maghoney trim. Please advise
Bless you, James! 🤧😂
Same to you Megan!
Love your videos! Curious how you think the Buzz-in color from your front door video would work with the Granite Peak color combo, on the front door?? My house is pretty flat (built in the 80s), two stories, and fairly shaded. Love the combo as I was looking at a blue of sorts as the main color and this is a great alternative. But I’d love the yellow door! 😊
Would you mind doing a video on colors to use on a brick home? I have a brick home with brown tones only in the brick. I can’t figure out what to use on the sides of the house and shutters and door.
I second this
Hi Amanda, I did do one on red brick which might be helpful to look at but I'll consider doing one just on browns in the future. It's nice if your brick has some other colors in it you can play off of. Have a look, and see if this helps. ruclips.net/video/b8MGcas8Vho/видео.html
@@thepaintpeople thank you for responding! I did watch that episode, thank you! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for one on brown and tan tones.
Not sure what your home Brick looks like but ck out SW urban Bronze I have seen outside and inside Really nice ….. curious what you chose since you asked 5 months ago
@@tammyharris7745 I’m still being indecisive and haven’t painted yet. They’re noticeably in need of painting now, so I need to make a choice soon. I’ll check out that color you mentioned, though. Thank you for sharing that!
Love the ideas. Do you recommend painting the porch floor to match the body or trim accent color? Need help!
Please, what are the colors on the gray house with white trim and navy accent color near the beginning of your video? I am in love with it! Thank you.
You are my mate now 😄, I am 👍😂, but you are a great adviser ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi love your videos I have a question for exterior paint what would you recommend for a Florida home with a tint of blue in it maybe or open to hear what you think please . I have gray now and it’s a two story. Thank you 😊
Any recommendations for exterior paint for houses with brown roof?
James do you have any color combs for SWFlorida? Most of your colors look like ones for up north. Something that goes with a light grey roof.
4:30 We have light grey siding with white trimming. What color of decorative window shutters would be complementary to this?
For my house exterior the biggest consideration for me is having a lighter color because my walls are only 2x4, and it’s an older home, so not the best insulation. It currently has a mustard yellow color on the metal siding, but it’s very faded on a lot of the house. I’m thinking I’ll do either a light tan color for the body with white trim, or a warm off white for the body and a dark tan for the trim. I don’t know yet, but keeping it cool in the summer is my main consideration.
Love that direction Zane!
@@thepaintpeople were looking to paint our house we love the Rockwood red color( Sherwin Williams)Weve kinda decided possibliy trimming it with Rockwood Clay is there any other color combo u would consider and would u consider 3 colors but going rockwood red was our color what would go with it..
I have a ranch style home in Baton Rouge in a real expensive hood. My doors are natural wood and green Bahama shutters. I have a large live oak in front of the home. The evergreen fog , peppercorn and the putty seems to fit my home the best. I also have an odd isolated brick wall that is only about 25 feet long in from of the door. I think it was designed to provide privacy in some of the living area and at the front door. The home was designed by an engineer and an artist. Any suggestions or absolute rules when using old natural wood doors?
Bless you
what color trim or garage would go with urbane bronze exterior paint. lime wash brick below
Would reddish brown stain work w red to reddish brown brick on my house front? Trying to make the front look less busy. Gonna stain the grout like the color of brick too. What color for front door? Thx. Thx so much!
Luv your videos! Need some help...going to paint siding SW perfect beige (brick is dark red with dark brown/ black mixed in thruout) . Need help picking trim Color and front door. Was thinking SW pure white but after watching now thinking I shouldnt go that bright of a white. Doors colors SW sealskin, iron ore , tricorn????? Help!!
Can u do a video on grey n orange combos😀
In the neutral arena is it a problem going darker trim and lighter main color? Think craftsman style?
I live in Buena Park California. What colors should I use in my color combos
Iron ore is gray when the sun hits it I did my trim this color and when the sun goes down it looks great but when the sun hits it I don’t like it at all so I’m doing it over with something with less gray
We have a little house and wanted something else a little bit bolder. Can’t really grow anything around the house because the dirt is way too hard !
HELP!! PLEASE~~. We have purchased a log cabin o the lake. HavING a copper roof put on. What do I do for trim and log colors? CAN YOU HELP?
Hi James,
I hope you can help!!!
My house is located on the corner so my home is the first that everyone sees when driving past. I’m looking to change my tan siding to a midnight blue siding. I’m nervous about this decision and looking for a few tips. What color trim or accent colors do you think would blend together.
Also I forgot to mention a few things: the lower portion of my house is brick painted white,my garage and front door is white as well, and the rocks surrounding my house is tan.
Thank You In Advance
Hi there, can you tell me the colors you're considering?
Hey James, kind of off topic, but are you planning to do a review of the new Behr Dynasty paint line? I saw some comments online that it's even better than BM Aurora. I'm wondering what you think of it.
Hi Sherri Ann, I’ll probably do a spotlight video on it next month or so. Stay tuned!
Hi there James thanks for your videos. It has given me many ideas. I love the crabby red door suggestion but have not decided. Looking for color combos for a stucco home with large windows. I by no means am traditional but do want it to look classy. Back yard is the golf country club. Would be interesting to see what combo you come up with. Excuse the numbers as user name. Since YT assigned it I do not know how to change it.
hmm, is there a direction you'd like to go in? Obviously white and tan are more traditional choices. If you like red, you could consider red stucco with black trim. If that's too much, yellow stucco with white trim can be cheerful, and then there's the classic Navy and White. Green and grey can be nice too. We have options lol. What general direction are you leaning towards?
@@thepaintpeople Thank you James for your quick tip. I am not thinking traditional but I also do not want to be the first neon home of the block. HAHA. I was leaning towards classy colors. Home is over 3000 sqft so any color I chose will be seen from a distance. I have a double entrance glass doors with borders decorated with artistic raw irons attached. After watching many of your videos I like the Crabby Apple as an accent for the doors and Iron ore for the Raw iron. Then I was thinking it may look cool visa versa. Crabby Apple for the Raw Iron and Iron Ore for the Accent of the door. Another thought was Crabby Apple for the Raw Iron and Salty Dog for the door.
I am not worry of being different but do want this all-stucco home to have some curb appeal front and back by selecting colors that work together and not making it look small. This home has large columns at entry. Painters will use Elastomeric paint from Sherwin Williams. Thanks for your tips. My Name is Gilbert
Hi, thank you for the video. My house is tan/brown and I am ready for a new door color, any ideas, preferably other than red. I have had Wyath (sp) blue on there for a few years now.
Love the idea for the blues. Some blue/greens to consider are: Benjamin Moore Winter Lake, Miami Teal, Santa Clara and New York State of Mind.
@@thepaintpeople thank you!
What about Black brick and trim??
What combo would you recommend with James Harding Cobble stone color siding?
Hi Anthony, it's a warm greige color so you got a lot of options. Creamy whites, blues, Navy will all look great. But you could also think about dusty greens and peaches.
I like granite peak
Right? It's nice.
Ambitious amber and Verdi green is a no for me,maybe toned down with iron ore ?
Thanks for watching Shastri!
James, I really feel like I want to paint the exterior of my house black with cedar tone accents. Do you have an opinion about that choice? I would love some thoughts and feed back.
I seen a house like this
I think it can look cool and modern and I like that the look celebrates the cedar.
Ayuda!! Combinación de colores para una casa en Puerto Rico (exterior)muchisimas gracías bendiciones
Hola! Cualquier color que te guste podría funcionar, ¿cuáles son tus favoritos?
So you feel garage doors should be white? Off white? In general?
Totally up to you!
How about combo colors for s tropical house. I have banana trees in front. House is stucco. If that matters. When I first bought the house it was a pale apricot, peachy pink. Any suggestions
Oooo but you already have the perfect colour!!! Why change it? 🥰🥰
🏠 needs repainting and looking for trim and front door colors. Color shades. Options are nice.
@@happycherylc I would go for green or brown door but can’t wait to hear what the paint god would suggest 💕
Hi Cheryl? Is there a direction you want to go in? I do love peaches and pinks. You could go aqua, terracotta, creamy beiges for accents and trims. Even dark browns and earth tones could work with peach/pink. If you're keeping the peach/pink, do you know what color it is?
@@thepaintpeople don't know what exact color was used. The house needs repainting. I do like the peachy/pink color. By peach, not the brown peach. Like a pink salmon color, pastel. My roof has terracotta clay tiles. Us homeowners with tropical homes be nice to have options. You could do a whole series on exterior colors on different architectural style homes. Thanks for responding.
I have a old stucco house with brick on the bottom running the whole width of the front of the house. Owners had painted the bricks very carefully where the gray mortar still shows. But it’s obviously been painted or stained. I need a color that will match the main color with the bricks on the bottom that I also need to paint. Any suggestions for painted bricks to complement the main color. Would be happy to direct message you and show you the house I have no clue of what to Paint this
Hi Kay, just to clarify, are you looking to determine what the color of the bricks actually is, or just a color that would complement it?
@@thepaintpeople Yes i need to paint the stucco house and the bricks. Is there a way to send you a picture?
Would you pain the ceiling of the porch the same as your main color?
Hi Romen, all depends, sometimes I treat that like an accent wall. Great place for a mural lol.
Very light, almost white, sky blue like they do in the south. Looks like the sky.
Love your beard.
Sorry I meant SW perfect Greige
The Evergreen Fog (last) house is straight out of 1972. Those colors were bad then, and still bad today
More of 80's kid I take it lol
I was expecting an avocado shade... that is a 70s green
It can also mean you are a witch.
