Painting a porch ceiling "Haint Blue" is a Southern thing...in the south, our southern folklore explains that ghosts, also referred to as “haints,” were not able to cross water. In order to repel evil spirits from plantations, porch ceilings were painted a soft blue. The color was meant to mimic water in an effort to keep any haints or spirits at bay -so you will see a lot of houses with big front porches in the south that paint their porch ceilings blue

Peacock green-all the way. My current house and door are pale yellow and Benjamin Moore blue. Moderately dark pure blue. Beautiful!

My house is pale yellow too! I was trying to convince myself to go antique red. However I think peacock is better. I’m going to check out your blue!

I was attracted to meadowbrook and blue peacock as our interior has dashes of turquois/aqua/teal, tho evergreen fog would blend nicely with the exterior "camping tent".

Currently, our house is white with BM Twilight Blue on the front and side doors. Out of your colors, my favorite was Naval. There were some likes for the turquoise and green "fog" color. Just a note with the lemon color. I saw an episode of Flip or Flop on TV, where Tarek and Christina used a lemon color on the modern door with horizontal windows up and down the whole door. It looked wonderful on a mid-century modern home as a fun accent. Not so much for traditional styles. The more contemporary styles allow for more fun colors. Loved this video.

I have a yellow house with a blue door and I love it. I like to see what colors are the doors in my neighborhood and I had found very interesting choices, makes me smile when people get out of their way to make their things look unique and interesting., especially with color.

I love a peacock blue front door but I think the most crucial thing in the choice of colour is the surroundings! A burgundy red door can look terrific against white/beige/grey tones of siding but butt it next to orange-red brick and it's repulsive!
My house is a reddish brown brick and painted my front door a very saturated deep petrol blue-green. I think it looks great, and a lot of my neighbours agree!

With reference to the reds, I used Cornwallis Red from Benjamin Moore's Williamsburg Collection on my white house with black trim. It's a bit brighter than these reds. I'm conservative with my paint choices and was a bit worried, but it is beautiful against its backdrop.

You commented on the blue porch ceiling with the Hazel-colored door. I've seen (and read) that there is a Southern tradition of painting porch ceilings a sky blue. That might be the reason for the paint choices on that front porch.

We own half a duplex. The house has (dark) brown brick, white stone accents, and dark brown trim. And all the houses in this new development have this brown, or sand colored trim.
Would you say that's it's ok to paint my front door aqua, burgundy, or even a more distinctive color? It would be nice to have this element of individuality, in my opinion.
    TIA!

Depends on the colors in the brick. My brick has many shades in each stone. The main shades are rust and a kind of pink. My hoa says I need to paint it cranberry but that bugs me since it doesn't match my brick. I used a rust shade and I love it. But my first choice would have been deep deep charcoal gray.

I actually really loved the first red and the lemon and lime colors--just not how they were used. They need to be on modern houses, with better main exterior colors. Like charcoal, black, or white, or maybe even a navy. (The lime green door on a navy house?)

My house is an orangey-brick, and when we bought it, the door was a brick red. Just awful. It was screaming for contrast, so I painted it a peacock blue. Gorgeous! Loved it for years, but it was time to repaint and since were planning to sell, we painted it something very close to Naval. Looks great with the bright white and black trim. I will miss the peacock, but resale value is currently the most important consideration.

You do not have to, but for me, I spend most of my time looking at the inside so I prefer to have the accent pop of color on both sides. It feels more cohesive to me. Plus, then I don't have to awkwardly figure out where the colors stop, nor do I have to put in the effort of a straight divider line.

Oh my, ... The Black, Pinkie-Coral, I like, (It works with a Dark Metal Charcoal, Soft Black, Deep Gray. The Spicy Mustard works but Lemon Yellow, not so much.
(I just can not enjoy the blue based: aqua, teals, even the grays with blue, just do not offer the energy that inspires me). They feel old hospital.
I am fixed on the True colors, the "Grays, Taupes, Neutrals, Beiges, and Plaster of Paris category" absent of the blues, purples, greens, "Purple Haze".
Just sharing "Perspective", "Taste Choice", everyone's choice likes matter.l, even if they like aqua. That an Impt value.
I love greens, w/o blue, save the rich true teal that looks great pared with soft pinks.
I love the rich deep dark Purples, and Blueberry, love these.
I get better reviews with these color values.
In the present, I feel these clear true crisp color values help support clarity, ease, and Positive Thought Feelings.
... and it is all about Positive High Vibe, the Frequency that delivers our Dreams!
