Currently painting Snowbound through the whole house with Extra White for the trim and loving it. Never used such a high white before but it is really working to freshen up and modernize whilst giving me a great backdrop for finishes and accessories.
I had my new build painted in Alabaster with SW High Reflective white. Lots of windows facing N & S and boy the Alabaster fades away. There isn’t enough of a difference in the LRV to notice. So now I’m thinking the walls will go SW White Sesame. Reviews on that color? I have the primary suite and guest room painted SW Accessible Beige. It’s nice. Sometimes looks flat & a bit dull but it works in the rooms it’s on.
We get enough cloudy/gray days outside so i don't favor grey color on walls. However, I have seen a nice very light gray paired with another nice blue color in a hotel.
I’ve been in my house for more than 1 year and still haven’t painted despite saying that would be the 1st thing the house needed because I can’t choose a color. Thus, thank you for making it easy 😀
He's right I used the SW agreeable gray on my walls today and there's no paint colour better than it. It beats all colours by a long shot...Great video
I love oyster all over but very pale vanilla custard in my kitchen and white upper and light beigy cream lower half in my bathroom, and use colours as my accessories in all rooms.
I recently painted my dark hallway (SW Mindful Gray) with Snowbound and love it!!! It was a perfect color to go with the existing darker gray in my entire house. Interior doors: Tricorn Black, Satin finish
Hey James, I was chuffed to see West Highland White make the list as this was the colour I convinced my Mom to paint her new condo. It used to have a rosy taupe all over and it and was looking tired and drab. WHW definitely lightened and brightened the space, and it feels much more lively and inviting now. Anyway, another great video! Thanks! :)
Repose & Agreeable Gray both turned purple and Accessible beige turns some sort of dark muddy color in my house. Alabaster I had high hopes for, it just looks really dingy, Snowbound turns blue. Choosing paint colors is driving me insane. BM classic gray turns purple. Only popular paint color I’ve had luck with is BM Simply White. I’ve tried so many more than I’ve posted about here. It’s maddening.
I have alabaster in my home and same thing happened then someone mentioned the lighting is the problem. After we fixed the lighting the paint colors performed better.
Paint videos on RUclips always show rooms with a ton of natural light. Real rooms aren't always like that. Crushed Ice looked very blue in my house, so I understand the frustration.
it may help to watch his videos on room locations ( East, west, etc) because that has alot to do with the way the colors look. if your rooms are north or south facing that doesn't have alot of direct sunlight, it may be why your colors are not turning out right.
@@tamarastone141 Right--paint looks bluer in a north-facing room. A process of trial and error is needed--you can't just go with the color someone on RUclips recommends.
snowbound looked so gray an dingy on my south facing walls....I was shocked . Glad I tried it though . ended up going w/ blank canvas behr for that room and LUV it esp with my accent wall of motor city blue valspar
Just painted my kitchen accessible beige. It’s pulling a lot of purple as the kitchen is east facing. Wasn’t expecting that. It looks nice on its own but I’m not 100% sold yet.
We painted a whole house Origami White and it is creamy neutral classy perfection. It goes perfect with both cool and warm colors!! The home was priorly painted Neutral Ground which looked old, beige-y yellow and horrible (too gold). But!!! We had to leave that Neutral Ground in one back bedroom that received little natural sunlight and it was cozy and stunning in that particular room for some strange reason and complimented Origami. Origami in that one particular room was too "wakeful", but looked cozy neutral in every other bedroom! Funny how the Floorplan, inner ceiling elevations, electrical lighting, natural light coming in the home makes or breaks ALL whites.
Painted most of our walls Repose Gray in flat finish. Baseboards and trim a slightly darker gray. It looked very gray and cold before we brought in all the furniture and rugs but with the space fully furnished it looks beautiful. A medium gray palette needs warm accents to balance it (wood, leather, warm colors even if it’s just a pillow.)
It’s funny to see so many comments against yet more greys. I built a new home three years ago and went with Haymes (a local brand) Smokey Silhouette which is a lovely neutral grey with a grey toned white for the trim and I love it! We moved from a house with beige walls and I found it drab and depressing. We have just bought another home with a beige roof and blond bricks and I’m struggling to choose a colour for the siding as I really don’t want to go back to beige! I’m hoping to find a green toned grey that will work with the bricks and roof. Wish me luck!
Great breakdown! Trusting all your experience too... So sick of Greys I could 🤢 Going to paint my Southwest so condo all interior with lovely Snowbound 👍🏻😂
Hey James Love the 10 colors you can paint your house BUT could you do a similar video on more beiges, taupes etc..
