    Great vid and gave me a few good laughs haha. Not to focus on kneesovertoesguy too much but I think one of the coolest things about his channel is showing footage, stills, and video breakdowns of athletes, particularly basketballers, in positions and movements they get into in a real game.
    It seems S&C coaches at the highest levels of pro sport understand the least about actual demands if said sport. ROM seems to be always missing.

  • @Bob-fj7lr
    @Bob-fj7lr 2 года назад

    there isn’t enough context for any of these videos. It’s really cool that you clipped them together, but the quarter squat for example doesn’t have an explanation. That’s the one that obviously went viral but no one knows why he’s doing it: is he experimenting? is there a trainer that says that a certain part of his leg needs to be hit specifically? Is it a warm up for a full squat? One thing i’ve always liked about his training tho, is that he tries to do movements that work entire chains of muscles. That overhead tricep press is a great example of that: that position is almost the exact position he would be in if he was pulling up on a jumper.

  • @Bob-fj7lr

    yeah this is not a good video guys. Especially the thing about the wide stance being bad? Why would he want to train smaller? That quarter squat is the exact position he would be in on both offense and defense. He’s not trying to build muscle he’s trying to get time under tension in a unique way and build explosiveness in the hips laterally. The quarter squat is basically what his first position would be before he had to explode left and right on defense. I said it in another comment but these exercises have no context so the only thing you could do to get engagement in this video is make fun of him tbh. Just a pointless cash grab

    • @sikastrength

      It's just a lot of 'in spite of' and not 'because of', likely hasn't needed to make a huge difference to his S&C work so it's just what he has and will keep doing.

    • @kevinlee3035
      @kevinlee3035 2 года назад

      Depends on what is your perception of "helpful". If it means olympic lifting or powerlifting with proper form, it would not be helpful to what he does (basketball).
      It would be like saying doing lateral agility and single leg jumps like basketball players do would help a olympic weightlifter or powerlifter in his sport
