Omg. Thank you for this video. Y'all took me back. I can still remember the races from when I was 8 years old. The pits, the parking lots, and everything else were coated with Winston cigarette packs.
It is a great Museum, you should put the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Museum in Downtown Charlotte, North Carolina on you to-do list if you haven't already visited it. It's get with a bunch of interactive things to do. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.
I certainly agree, NASCAR was much better when they ran on track like North Wilkesboro, and Rockingham. Back then the tracks, cars and drivers had character unlike today's, cookie cutter cars and tracks and drivers who are void of personality and much stick to scripts.
Garry Thompson I couldn’t agree more. The powers that be got greedy and lost sight of where NASCAR came from and what fan base built the sport. I’m all for growing a business but never forget your roots.
Thanks for posting this . I want to go there someday soon. I didn't know one of Richie Evans cars were there. I was hoping to see the Phil Parsons car.
Tiny Lund driver of the #55 Ford shown was killed in 1975 in a crash on the Talladegaega backstretch. If I remember correctly the crash involved almost 20 cars
@@tombstonesandtravel8805 I just like the look of all those old cars. Today's NASCAR vehicles all look pretty much the same with different paint. I get that's because of safety but the differences between the older cars gives them character.
@@twistedyogert I totally agree, back in the day the cars had character and there were characters driving them. Fireball, Little Joe, Richard and David, Cale and Bobby they were drivers and the racing was real STOCK CAR Racing. Thanks for Watching and taking the time to comment.
The information on Awesome Bill from Dawsonville record is incorrect. He sat that record in 1987, which was my first time ever going to the track. I’ve been going to Dega since I was seven, now I’m 40. I love the sport. If the spread of COVID decreases and the track fully opens back up, I’m going to keep the tradition going and take my son (who will turn seven in January) with me and the crew.
Thank you for watching my video and for you very insightful and kind comments. You are correct, Awesome Bill did set the record in 1987 and I misspoke during my narration. I appreciate the correction. I hope you and your son can go racin' in 2021. Stay safe and stay healthy. Thanks again for watching.
If you could walk away with two which would you pick? I would take Alan Kulwicki last car driven and the Davey Allison Halvoline beauty that is forever etched in my memory.
I agree with the Davey Allison Havoline Ford, my second choice would probably be the Harry Gant's Skoal Bandit. Both have a special place in My Memory. Thanks for watching, subscribing and taking time to comment.
I was airing towards the Gant Skoal car as well its up there! Cheers gyre putting such a great video together and much love to you and the family in these tough times from the UK! Take care of yourself.
Me it would be the Melling #9 in which Bill Elliott won the Winston Milion and the Winston 500 after making up two laps under green and the Junior Johnson owned Darrel Waltrip #11 Budweiser Chevy
I think it may be a Regal. I think Buick switched from the LeSabre to the Regal for the 1988 Season. But as always I may be wrong so hopefully one of the other viewers will correct me if I am wrong. Thanks For Watching.
The ONLY reason Bill Elliot was so dominant at the big tracks & won the championship that year, was due to a secret that NASCAR officials deemed totally legal. And NO other team could figure it out. Once his team knew that they had the championship in the bag later in the season, they went ahead & shared their secret with several of the other Ford teams who were demanding to know. And then those Ford teams began running much faster than everyone else too. But at the end of that season, the secret was leaked, and ALL of the other teams for every make of car had it the following season. What was it? Answer: A CAMBERED REAR END. It enabled the car to track much better through the turns at wide open throttle. Notice how Elliot and the other Ford teams' dominant streak ended suddenly the following season. And Elliot NEVER won another championship. I'm no "brand loyal" snob........I love ALL of the great cars & engines from every auto maker. But the truth is the truth.
hey Einstein , the TRUTH is the car pictured is an 87 T Bird , the next year, the year YOU say ended Fords dominating streak ended was the year Elliot won the title...……..geeeze

I totally agree. Thanks For watching
I went to that museum in October 2014 and I loved it

I will if I make it that way dec 2019 update I will be going to the nascar hall of fame coke 600 weekend I’ll be there for the race
Made a visit here last year. Pretty cool along with the trip around the track.
How do you do a Dega video and show Davey’s 28 Havoline car and not reference him??
Incredible cars from an era when NASCAR was still a southern sport and in my opinion so much more enjoyable and interesting than the present NASCAR.
I certainly agree, NASCAR was much better when they ran on track like North Wilkesboro, and Rockingham. Back then the tracks, cars and drivers had character unlike today's, cookie cutter cars and tracks and drivers who are void of personality and much stick to scripts.

You are correct. I have it on my list to visit Tiny's Grave in South Carolina. Thank You for watching and for commenting.
was hoping to see the #99 Ray Nicholes car that won the 1st race in 1969, still a very cool video.
Thank You for watching and for your Kind Comment.

That's kinda like race horses that have been put out to pasture. 😊
Sad but so true. Those were the days when the racin' was real. Thanks for watching

Red farmer being inducted into the hall of fame is pretty cool to me
Super cool that Red Farmer is being inducted. Super great guy and very well deserved. Thank You for watching and for taking time to comment.

What model Buick is the Miller High Life car?

What do you reckon that buzzing noise is?
I'm not sure, I may be the fluorescent lights inside the museum.
It was dale sr who in 1988 daytona 500
I agree 100%. Thanks For Watching and for your Comment. I appreciate it.
Back when racing was fun and it was about racing. Now it's just a bunch of bs.
I agree, racing today is boring and no fun to watch. Thank You for watching and taking the time to comment.

I hear Dustin lynch in the background
The AMC Matador had to be the ugliest car ever made. The race version looked good, but the street version was hideous
I totally Agree. Thanks for watching and for commenting. I appreciate it.
Michals car is just a pile of parts
