VISITING THE FINAL RESTING PLACE OF EARLY GRAND OLE OPRY STAR ROD BRASFIELD.
Rodney Leon Brasfield was born in Smithville, Mississippi on August 22, 1910. He began performing in touring tent shows during the late 1920’s with his older brother. These tent shows took him to places all across the south including Nashville where he met The Solemn Ole Judge, George D. Hay.
Judge Hay was so impressed with Rod Talent that he invited him to Join the Grand Ole Opry in 1944. Rod’s character of a hapless country bumpkin known for wearing a baggy suit, battered hat and a elongated walk, quickly became an Opry favorite. He could make his audience laugh just by walking out on stage.
In 1948 Rod was paired with Cousin Minne Pearl. The two developed an act known for it’s “double C...

I live in Jasper, such a nice video.. There is a memorial at Oak Hill cemetery to Tallullah Bankhead, a classic film star who is also from Jasper
Jasper was a spur of the Moment Stop for me and I would Not Have visited the Cemetery had it not been for the Kind Lady at the Holiday Inn. I have heard of Tallulah Bankhead and had I known I would have like to have visited the Memorial. Thank you so much for watching and for you kind and informative Comment.
Charlie Daniel was true American who loved his country. He was also a strong Christian who loved his Lord. I have a close friend who went to church with him. I encourage you to get out your bible and read the scripture that is on his grave (Psalm 91:1-8). He may have tangled with the Devil in Georgia but today he is embraced in the arms of Jesus, his Lord.
Thank You for Watching and for your Amazing and Kind Comment about Charlie.
Minnie was a special person who blessed everyone she came in contact with. She blessed us for many years but today she is with her blessed Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for the time she was with us and the wonderful spirit transmitted to all.
Thank You For Watching and for your wonderful comment about Minnie.
I remember Wendy's big smile!
Thank You for watching. I too remember her Smile.
Judy ,Judy Judy
One of My Favorite Episodes. Thank You for Watching.
Saw him a couple of times here in Nashville.
I met George a couple of time at Mayberry Days in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Thanks for watching.
I have a huge Oak framed mirror which purportedly came from the Lindsey estate after his mother died. George also ran for Walker county Sheriff at one point, but it was mostly a stunt. His mother was quite a character from all reports. I don't think he ever helped her much, she lived in kinda poor conditions it is rumored.
Thank You for watching and for taking time to share your unique insight.
“Judy Judy Judy”… Cary Grant
One of My favorite episodes. Thanks for watching.
For those who want to visit the grave of Lester Flatt, you will find it in Sparta, TN which is about 90 minutes east of Nashville.

Eddy Arnold was born in Henderson, TN, which is in Chester County in West TN. It mistakenly said Hendersonville.

I have been traveling, visiting friends and family. As I am watching this video, I am just a little bit south of Cleveland Ohio. Too bad I won't have time to visit Chef Boyardee's (how it was spelled in those TV commercials I watched when I was a little girl) resting place. On my way to Maine now - will have to catch up on your videos there!
Just A little hint on what's to come while I was in the Cleveland area, Resting neat Chef Boyardee other cemeteries are Dr. Sam Sheppard who many think was the subject of the TV Show the Series but the Shows producers deny that. Also Baseball Hall of Famer Known as Rapid Robert - Bob Feller. Have a safe an enjoyable trip to Maine, I hope you can enjoy the Fall Colors. As always thank for Watching and for you enjoyable comments.
Definitely go to Lakeview cemetary. Worth the stop. Rockefeller is there. Garfield and his wife. Definitely look for haserot! That's the big one to check out

What a great blast from the past! I remember him well. He brought us so many laughs! Didn't he sell the farm to Oliver and Lisa? LOL! Then sold them everything they needed to fix everything. I remember him on Hee Haw and the Beverly Hillbillies. Thanks for taking us along to pay respects to someone who brought so much fun into our lives.
Yes, He sure did sell Oliver and Lisa the farm along with the tractor and everything else. He was a funny, funny man. Thank you so much for watching and for your wonderful comment.
