When he opened that garage door, I could hear all the sounds from the lives of those cars. Fans cheering, drivers talking, crew guys working, etc. Surreal. One lucky man.
Current NASCAR is nothing like what it was. I am a sucker for anything Pre-2000. I was born in 88 and went to so many races with my dad in the 90s and with me being from Darlington SC i know all the history before my time as well. My Papa and Cale Yarborough always quail hunted together on my Papas land in Timmonsville, always would do things as couples together with the wives when Cale was in town, and would always make sure to see me and give me something cool every time. I have so many things Cale has given me from his racing days from helmets, gloves, and goggles to tires, doors, and a engine block. All that i have made into cool furniture in my shop. Greatest memories ever. He still gives me things to this day and i always make sure to go have a bite to eat with him whenever we both can. He is the absolute best story teller and like a second grandpa.
Had tears running down my face the whole video... A.J. Foyt's USAC car, I sat in as a kid.... yeah that one. Thank you, I am humbly touched. Again, KUDO'S, Seth Hughes
Bill restored Elmo Langley’s Torino for me. Absolutely an outstanding, knowledgeable, honest, straight up great company to do biz with! A truly great experience. Great to see his work. Great video.
That's awesome!! As a kid I'd ride my bike over to Elmo's "shop" (2 car garage.) Hung on every word and sight. Ran the whole damn schedule piecing the cars and motors back together on near nothing every week. Still have my "Sunny King" patch he gave me. Early 80s. Remember when he got his "new" sleek '83 T Bird. Got that dicast sitting on my bar. Can't shake the(my) best days of NASCAR.
Would love to see a picture your Torino. I had a few but nothing near the those different powerful Torinos Ford put out back in the day. I always thought they were a very good looking car.
As a kid in the 70's and 80's and a race fan, I'm with Bill Rhine in that I love what NASCAR was back then. I miss those days and not just the drivers, but the teams as well.
This is simply amazing! People like this guy are keep the physical side of vintage nascar alive! Now people like Mitchell and Logan of Stapleton Autowerks are keeping the storied history of nascar alive. Doing the interviews, going to the old shops, getting the old stories out there. I think a collaboration between y'all would be EPIC!!! #keepnascarhistoryalive
That I would love to see nascar back then was exciting and a family sport now I don't even want to go to a race. It's just lost my love for it too much whining and crying from the driver's and not enough racing
Bill you are a treasure and I am grateful for guys like you keeping these old beautiful relics alive, keeping history alive. Like you, I love what NASCAR WAS, the history of the sport is so colorful.
What a video this is..... the knowledge this guy has is insane. I'm not much of a NASCAR fan but this era of racing and cars will forever be THE Nascar.
When he brings up Craven and Santerre that brings back huge memories. I watched both, met both at the rescue tracks in Maine. Santerre is a great guy, I just went through a photo album of his cars and life with his uncle. Unreal family.
I’m not a NASCAR fan but I have immense respect for what he’s done. Plus like him,I have a greater appreciation for the older cars. 50’s through the 80’s cars and drivers. Great video, thanks for putting it up on RUclips
I’d watch nascar again if they ever ran a retro series with at the very least the period correct body styles. 70’s - 90’s. The G bodies were my favorite. Haven’t watched much since the Car of Tomorrow came out.
I remember when Hendrick Racing brought the Days of Thunder tribute car for William Byron. If Nascar would do a race or series for just the vintage Nascar days with atleast the safety equipment and technology but in the old designs that would probably have views through the roof.
Got the opportunity to meet Bill Rhine at the Charlie Craig Cruise In last month. Super nice person, very personable. Loves to talk shop and talk about what he does. He was doing a pretty cool thing...Will Cronkrite was there to meet people and sell copies of his awesome book. Mr. Rhine brought the Jolly Rancher car that you saw briefly in the feature above to be on display. That car was one of Mr. Cronkrite's cars from the past. I'd love to get that tour as well, I Hope someday...he's also built some scale model aircraft carriers that are just unbelievable!!! A good man for sure!!!
This is the most interesting clip I have ever watched. I was excited to hear the old stories. I thank you sir for having a collection like this. You are a an amazing man... thank you again.
26:29 I remember years ago finding pictures of this Davey Allison Buick on the internet back before it was restored. It was faded and had an old Bobby Allison car cover on it. I'm so happy to see it restored and looking good.
Absolutely Amazing Collection... NASCAR at it's best... Bill Rhine mentions how so many others remember everything, but after watching this, Bill has retained a wealth of knowledge... "Let them age, like fine wine" 🍷 😊
This guy knows just about everything there is to know about Nascar, Nascar stats and numbers and what Nascar teams did during their operation. Unreal! I love what he is and what he’s doing. Someone has to save these cars. I wish we got a better look at the cars but this was still amazing.
There is some really cool cars in that shop and a lot of history innthere also. I bet he has come across some really cool little "innovations" or cheated up parts that very few people know about. I love hearing stories of all the things guys did to cars back in the day to get and edge over the competition. Dale jr's podcast is a great source to hear about some of the innovations made back in the day
I’m also born n raised in Miami Florida. I grew up watching and racing on Homestead Miami speedway multiple times on the Oval, Road course, and the drag strip. Incredible experiences.
Wow, what a collection of race cars. The history that has been kept alive is unreal. I really love the Davey Allison Texaco Buick V6. I was a kid going to Charlotte and watched the Busch series on Saturday’s. That V6 engine sounded like a loud angry bumblebee, it was definitely something different back in the day.
It’s also REALLY cool how they interact with sponsors, they know racing wouldn’t exist without sponsors so they give back by allowing them to use these cares without a fee. That’s cool
70’s-80’s is my favorite era of racing also. I didn’t live it then but I can see a glimpse of it thanks to RUclips. I do remember the late 80’s into the 90’s when the big $ started coming in but at the same time NASCAR was still fun to watch. Petty was just getting out of the car, Davey was still alive, Darrell and Dale were still in their prime.
My brother was Whit King and he worked in NASCAR his whole life. Mostly independents. But he was there. I hope you got to meet him. He was good friends with Lanney Barnes who use to build engines for NASCAR.
Man alive, Bill should open up a museum showcasing these cars, the accompanying memorabilia, & have videos with those interviews in a theatre setting. Charge $75 a pop for admission and he’d have a 10,000 sq. ft. building paid for in 3 years time.
I love this. I grew up with Ray Elder. He was a big Winston West champion and help innovate fuel milage racing. Small budget team that won on the big circuit.
They need to die the cameraman. At least turn the camera to the car they're talking about. They talk about them signing the dashes, and they don't even show the signature.
Man just love the video but next time please please show more of the cars please man I love this cars just like every fan out there man keep finding them save them
I inherited a NASCAR collection and the other day I had a friend over and said see anything you like take it. He was looking for a specific wrangler car and he found it. Tuned out his dad has the actual car he was looking for and races it. I never knew he don't talk about his dad all that much but thought it was cool.
Great collection!!! It bring back memories when I got to tour Jim Meager's private collection around 1988. At the time it was considered one of top domestic car collection in the country. Jim knew the details about mostly every one. Have you ever looked at six new corvairs at the same time? Also included a Impala for every year they were built. He loved Impalas, several were brand new. So thankful I got to view his collection.
wonder where the tide car dale sr drove went or what happened to it? Miss those cars and paint schemes. The wrangler car is sweet. The bud car is great too. Some real history in that barn for sure.
Must have been a reason for NOT show'n us the cars 🤔...I'm thinking what we saw was all Bill, for whatever reason would allow 🤷🏻♂️ I love Bill's dedication to Adam Petty 💪 I'm one of the millions of Petty fans that shed tears when Lee & Adam ( and Chief & Ms Lynda since then 🙏) passed, so hearing someone speak so fondly of Adam, well let's just say my chest got swoal up abit 😉👍
“I like what nascar is but I love what it was” never heard a better statement
Amen
Amen🙌
Awoman!
Couldn’t agree more
Absolutely
Man oh man look at the history of Nascar in ONE barn! Would love to see what else Bill has in other barns.
Yes For sure
I know a guy in new Hampshire that has trailer full of the nascar v6 motors. Pretty interesting I'd say !
Where are David and Larry Pearson cars
Yes!! Ralph...Please go back and do another video of the cars that are found in As-IS condition please!!
TBH, it woulda been nice to see what the heck was in THIS barn! What'd we get to see?... like one motor and few roofs and windshields... ;D
Wish your camera guys would show the cars...
they kinda do
I don’t want kinda. show it or don’t talk about it
I think some are not shown to preserve the cars identity for security.
@@jeremysimpson1432 then why do it lol
you'd figure between two camera people they could take turns scoping over the cars
When he opened that garage door, I could hear all the sounds from the lives of those cars. Fans cheering, drivers talking, crew guys working, etc. Surreal. One lucky man.
Hats off to the camera guy. He did a great job of filming their mugs for 34:02.
“I like what NASCAR is, but I LOVE what it was...” he said it all right there
Current NASCAR is nothing like what it was. I am a sucker for anything Pre-2000. He has a life-sized DieCast collection and I'm amazed by the history in every single one of them...that's awesome.
Bill restored Elmo Langley’s Torino for me. Absolutely an outstanding, knowledgeable, honest, straight up great company to do biz with! A truly great experience. Great to see his work. Great video.

Amazing collection! This guy needs a proper museum.
I could listen to this guy talk about these cars all day.
This is simply amazing! People like this guy are keep the physical side of vintage nascar alive! 10-4
Bill is genuine and passionate about race cars. We met Bill and he was so nice to us. God’s blessings.
NASCAR needs to pay him to bring all of them to a track just to see them all at one time running he has collection that is priceless
They’d rather pay to bring ice cube to perform a halftime show sadly
That I would love to see nascar back then was exciting and a family sport now I don't even want to go to a race. It's just lost my love for it too much whining and crying from the driver's and not enough racing
Amazing history, love the interview. Buttttt camera guy needs to show the cars. Damn.
For real, I can hear them speak but I wanna see the cars!
This!
Bill you are a treasure and I am grateful for guys like you keeping these old beautiful relics alive, keeping history alive. Like you, I love what NASCAR WAS, the history of the sport is so colorful.
Worked as a part time tire man on that Wrangler Osterlund car. Oh what memories.
As a 40 year fan who loves the history of nascar i am amazed. Wow. I would just love to walk through and look, just look
This was great!!!! But it would have been nice to see more of the cars and listen to the interview.
Wish we could of seen more of the cars they were talking about in the barn.
What a video this is..... the knowledge this guy has is insane. I'm not much of a NASCAR fan but this era of racing and cars will forever be THE Nascar.
Cool stories, would've loved to see the cars!
agree with rest of comments horrible shots we didn't even see much of the cars video sucks really !!!👎
OMG! Fire your camera men
& the sound guy. One guy with a mic and the other not having a mic is AWESOME for the ears when Ralph laughs.
When he brings up Craven and Santerre that brings back huge memories. I watched both, met both at the rescue tracks in Maine. Santerre is a great guy, I just went through a photo album of his cars and life with his uncle. Unreal family.

Wow Ralph. I knew you were into racing. But I look at you in a whole new light. It obviously wasn’t just a job, it’s a passion.
What a great piece of history you have there. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Not all super heroes wear capes. You sir are legend saving these.
Rusty Wallace's Miller Genuine Draft paint scheme is one of the coolest ever.
I’d watch nascar again if they ever ran a retro series with at the very least the period correct body styles. 70’s - 90’s. The G bodies were my favorite. Haven’t watched much since the Car of Tomorrow came out.

God bless this man, the fact that he thinks of other customers when it comes to parts on the cars is insane. Hopefully I can own a #3 GoodWrench lol
same
That #11 Budweiser car I built the connecting rods for it! Junior and my Dad designed them ! I remember when you took the #11 to Juniors that morning!
Super rad to see this dude so passionate about this makes it that much more enjoyable to watch this

All I can say is wow. I nominate Bill Rhine as NASCAR Historian.
Definitely quite a few oldies in there. Nostalgia. But they really should've showed the darn cars!
This is the most interesting clip I have ever watched. I was excited to hear the old stories. I thank you sir for having a collection like this. You are a an amazing man... thank you again.

I couldn't care less about NASCAR, but these guys' passion kept me watching. Really cool collection and business model. Well done
Absolutely Amazing Collection...
NASCAR at it's best...
Bill Rhine mentions how so many others remember everything, but after watching this, Bill has retained a wealth of knowledge...
"Let them age, like fine wine" 🍷 😊
Holy Shoot.. that Donnie Allison Hawaiian Tropic car!! I live in NC and would absolutely love to see this!!
Send a message Big Red Too on Facebook...you might get lucky.
This guy knows just about everything there is to know about Nascar, Nascar stats and numbers and what Nascar teams did during their operation. Unreal! I love what he is and what he’s doing. Someone has to save these cars. I wish we got a better look at the cars but this was still amazing.

Yeah that would be the best part of buying them
Document privately
I’m also born n raised in Miami Florida. I grew up watching and racing on Homestead Miami speedway multiple times on the Oval, Road course, and the drag strip. Incredible experiences.
I’ve got a couple old famous cup cars myself. I’ve had several conversations with Bill and he’s always a pleasure to talk to.
Just wow! I wish I would have met this guy when I was younger. I live in NC too!
Thank you so much for sharing this, there's an awesome take back into history. The love of cars we have is just amazing.
What a hell of a museum this is I can't believe what he has and the history they all have

Idk why the camera man didn’t look around a bit!
It’s also REALLY cool how they interact with sponsors, they know racing wouldn’t exist without sponsors so they give back by allowing them to use these cares without a fee. That’s cool
That's an awesome collection of vintage NASCAR, etc. Thanks for sharing.
Would like to have seen more of the cars
What a trip down memory lane! Thank you!
Those cars sound amazing.
Kinda would have been nice to see them.
I am so glad I stumbled upon PRI. You have made my day!
70’s-80’s is my favorite era of racing also. I didn’t live it then but I can see a glimpse of it thanks to RUclips. you can see the passion in bills eye's, amazing video.
greetings from Argentina
Fantastic video. Thank you for making this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love this. I grew up with Ray Elder. He was a big Winston West champion and help innovate fuel milage racing. Small budget team that won on the big circuit.
So so amazing!!!!...... thanks so much for all your hard work and explanations on everything !!
I can fully understand how this guy wants to keep them as original as possible. I'd be the same way
Incredible! Great job at saving a little bit of history.
I wish there was more video of the cars instead of the guys standing talking though. Like motors and interiors
The cars from the 80s are my jam. LOVE the Donnie Allison car.
Check out Big Red Too on Facebook...you might enjoy it.
Holy cow ... the 80s were a special era, as a kid a built models almost every 80s car he has there ... wow.
Amazing collection thank you for sharing all can't believe it's 2 years I haven't seen 😁👍
Amazing collection, shame they don't even show the cars that are being talked about. The chat could have been in a studio.
They need to die the cameraman. At least turn the camera to the car they're talking about. They talk about them signing the dashes, and they don't even show the signature.
I’d love to see them in person. Awesome collection
Thank you very much for making this possible to able to get to see all of the race history and how all of the old race cars
love your collection brings back great memories thank you so much for showing me. id love to actually walk through it
My favorite part was imagining what that Adam Petty chassis looks like.
Man just love the video but next time please please show more of the cars please man I love this cars just like every fan out there man keep finding them save them
Awesome awesome awesome pieces of history you have..
This is sick. I would love to see this.
Really really cool collection

That is a true passion for the sport, nice job dude
What a cool inside look at this. I never gave this side of nascar a minute of thought.very cool
Nothing but memories there!! Thanks for keeping the memories alive
The 2021 season is looking really interesting
I choked up a bit, when the mentioned Adam Petty.
I wish the cameraman would have shown his car when they were talking about him.
awesome Video enjoyed it very much
Awesome show, thank you for sharing.
A super cool they keep them as they raced
I'm not really in the NASCAR but still I admire that collection
gonna need to see part 2
I love that this man does like I would do and keep the cars the way they should be original raced way!!💗💗😎👍
Great vid. As an Aussie im not fa ilar with all things Nascar. But boy this guy knows his race car history. Cheers
wonder where the tide car dale sr drove went or what happened to it? Miss those cars and paint schemes. The wrangler car is sweet. The bud car is great too. Some real history in that barn for sure.

Great History Lesson Right Here !!
Omg that is so cool wow this guy knows what he’s doin 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bucket list for sure
Would have been great for the camera guy to show more of each car in the shop
