He was never my favorite, but I was always happy when he won cause he wanted it so fucking bad. And seeing him climb those fences for the first time, that was badass.

That's because he is the man who made the #20 important in the sport of stock car racing. Just like Earnhardt #3, Gordon #24, Petty #43, Rusty #2, Martin #6, Alan Kulwicki #7, Davey Allison #28 and JJ's #48 etc... etc... etc... Tony Stewart even brought AJ Foyt's #14 back to the forefront and is also known for that number. I'd say Harvicks #29 & #4 as well as Kyle Busch's #18 m&ms ride garner that same attention. Someone in this comment section claimed Tony didn't dominate like Earnhardt etc... and that person does not realize that from an overall racing standpoint Stewart has won more races in many different racing styles than just about any driver in Nascar history and won or competed at an extremely high level throughout... Earnhardt did not race at a high level at anything other than Nascar, IROC and Prototype racing (yet he did win 7 champions during the most evolving years of Nascar which to me makes him the best ever in Nascar history) but he could never had achieved the same success Stewart has in the plethora of different styles of racing that he competed in. They had to invent the Triple Crown Championship because Tony was the first to ever achieve such an unthinkable goal. Every racecar driver and fan knows the risks involved in this sport that we love so much but that doesn't make it any less tragic when something awful happens. The Silver-Lining is that since we lost Dale, there has been no fatalities in NASCAR since, and the changes made to the cars, safety systems, tracks, with the Safer-Barrier and stuff, has come a long way. It's a damn shame it took Dale to get our butts in-gear, but we have since then.

Look, memes aside I know it wasn't Tony's or weed's fault, I ride in a road bike high as fuck on marijuana and, I would ride drunk or high but there's no freaking way I would ride dressed in black, let alone stand in the middle of a dim track with a black firesuit. You're literally invisible on black clothing even if there's some light.
2 class act champions...I really enjoyed this....thanks Jeff and Tony.
These two are both dirt racers at heart so they have a different sort of chemistry than two other NASCAR guys might.
One of my favorite racing memories is seeing 14 year old Jeff Gordon racing a winged sprinter at Volusia County speedway---and he wasn't giving an inch to the veteran racers on that fast dirt track. The guy seated right in front of me in the grandstand was the late Duke Cook, great USAC driver. He had me laughing so much that I almost forgot how bad my sprained ankle was hurting that night.
This video literally took me over an hour to watch I kept on rewinding it so I could look at the cool cars I really would love to know the story behind the race four wheelers and I would love to see Jeff's Garage and Dale Junior's garage and I would love to see Matt dibenedetto his house and his garage and do an interview with Ross Chastain just some ideas I hope Jeff reads this and likes it that would be awesome this was the best video this channel has put out please make more of these
I miss these 2 racing in Nascar. They weren't my favorite drivers but this was my favorite rivalry
I love that he has a Greg Hodnett fuel cell. I would see him race every week at Williams Grove, he was gone too soon..
I love watching two people who are so talented and accomplished they can self deprecate a bit and neither has to worry about their ego and they can enjoy the cars and the stories. The GOAT and one of the most versatile and flexible champs together is fun to see.
Next to Dale E. Tony was my favorite driver none since he retired
This is one of the best videos on RUclips
I was at that Sonoma race. Amazing feeling. You had to be there.
Smoke: "we can't cut me out, it will ruin the car"
Bobby: "yeah about that..."
Funny how Jeff never mentioned he was caught up in the same crash
Jeff....."Remember that time I won the Brickyard?"
Tony...."Yeah..remember the time I killed that kid?"🤣🤣😆🤣😆😆🤣😆😆
@@pennywise8182 Shut up bitch.
@Penny Wise
Gordon: Is that Penny Wise over there, The guy you almost killed?
Stewart: Yea he`s the one i had bent over that tire and almost Butt fucked him to death! 🤣🤣😂😅😆🤣
15:58 man, we almost lost Tony and Dale in the same race
Every racecar driver and fan knows the risks involved in this sport that we love so much but that doesn't make it any less tragic when something awful happens. The Silver-Lining is that since we lost Dale, there has been no fatalities in NASCAR since, and the changes made to the cars, safety systems, tracks, with the Safer-Barrier and stuff, has come a long way. It's a damn shame it took Dale to get our butts in-gear, but we have since then.
Too bad it was Dale Earnhardt and not Stewart.
Stewart would go on to kill Kevin Ward Jr.
@@rustyshackelford1483 the kid had a part to play in it
@@rustyshackelford1483 . How about you wish it was nobody who died . what the fuck man
@@rustyshackelford1483 Kevin had a major part in his own death
My friend Jimmy Huffman and I used to watch you and the guys in Memphis Tennessee really enjoyed it
For those that didnt know Jeff moved to indiana from California because they allow drivers to start at age 16 . This jumped his learning curve .
Two legends. So great to see them together like this.
Love them discussing the Kinser's - freaking dirt track royalty
The wrecked 01 daytona car took me for a ride down memory lane. Awesome collection 👍
it’s crazy, i live right down town pittsboro, IN. still drive by his old house sometimes... what a legend. and to have him go to your small town high school, in the middle of no where is even crazier.
Its crazy to me to see tony's 2001 daytona car today after all these years. I remember watching that wreck as a kid thinking how the hell someone survives that
Gordon was also involved in that wreck that smoke is referring too at 15:44
@Holy shit, it's a talking muffin Last time Tony showed that car in a video, it still had grass stuck in it.
Love to see and here about the sonoma car was there that day i was alway wondering what happened with it now i know so cool.
Earlier last year I saw Tony's rookie car on a hauler with several other race cars. I live in Charlotte so I assume they were taking them to the Hall of Fame. Seeing these old bodies bring back memories
Two of the greatest drivers to ever take the wheel.
This is the kind of content that will keep the spirit of racing going! I love this stuff! Keep it up!
@Robert Manders Up yours. He is not.
@Robert Manders I have no idea if OJ is innocent or not but video proves it was not Tony's fault, it was Ward's fault.
My favorite is that orange Home Depot Pontiac...
I like the added black highlights version from his championship year
Mine is the number 33 ritz oreo camaro
The 00-02 cars were my favorite
Jeff's attitude is pretty cool - I have to say.
Man I remember watching these guys fight on track pretty consistently. I'm happy they put that behind them
Very cool to see the two of you reminiscing. I was a big Gordon fan and not so much a Stewart fan when I was younger. But as I've gotten older I see what hes done for racing and how much of a good person he is. Who's dirt modified is that up on the lift?
Wow, my first nascar race, i took the family to daytona and tony won the race he climbed the fence in front of us stood up! I went to take a picture and i forgot my camera in the SUV, OMG! Well i still can still picture it in my head. Toni was the bad boy of nascar love it! And Gordon and Johnson were my race team that i watched all the time, good times, good memories! Enjoyed the video thanks
My two favorite drivers. Legends.
That's probably the cleanest 2000s montes ive ever seen
I watched Jeff's whole career, since his dirt track days. I never realized Tony was as short as Jeff. Jeff is like 5'10'' tops. Tony is a legend too, one of my favorite all time drivers.
ZOMG ... I remember watching these two Wednesday nights at IRP. Great stuff guys, thank you.
