Coolant Temp Fluctuating on Warm Up 2007-2013 Silverado 1500

My truck was having an issue where the coolant would fluctuate a lot during warm up. I thought this was due to air in the system but after a flush and thermostat replacement I had no luck. Only until I replaced the ECT Sensor did it fix the issue.
Vehicle is a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3 with 172K miles
