yeah, i kind of hate how theres alomst zero inventive for protecting bombers. I stopped playing war thunder when 3/4 players only played fighters and focused on dog fights in the middle of the map and left the bombers and ground strike to do their own thing. I played a match where i took down half the ground targets by myself and lost all my bombers doing it.

Apparently gaijin has never played arcade in a public server. Attackers get mauled as soon as they get close to ground targets due to map design. And fix the pill box and medium tank hit boxes. I’ve had direct hit bounce numerous times.

Ehm. You're not fighting only with enemy team. You're trying to dodge your team mates while they are tunnel vision on someone and doesn't even care where its going, you're trying to dodge your team mates bullets because they are trying to "steal" your kill also finishing your life. Its way too hard then RB i guess. :D

I actually climb to my team mates bomber and escort him... no one dares to touch it... he drops 30.000 TNTs and gets huge score and rewards... emmm... and what do I get for escorting him? Oh... and speaking of high tier bombing... you can climb your ass off in a bomber but at high tier all the fighters can get you right out from their spawn... costs of bombs are rediculus high... rewards were nerfed... repair costs are rediculus high... yeah... good luck with the bombers... I'm so happy all the devs energy is going into ships now... and tier 6 tanks... with all the problems at all the levels this game has... that's so nice... R.I.P. warthunder...
i quit playing after bombers became more and more expensive the higher tier you got while the relative rewards stayed close to the same and it took longer and longer to reach the objectives. When it take a bomber half the match to reach the right altitude, get in postion over enemy targets, and drop their bombs but it takes the enemy fighter a few minutes and they can turn you into swiss cheese it becomes really pointless, especial since theres zero incentive for your allies to protect you.
What do you get for escorting him? A greater chance of victory which means 120% rp bonus.. victory depends on PTFO in most cases, so it's in your best interest to escort that bomber, Most players don't like to teamwork as it is which makes winning games very hard

Where have you been? Fighters wont cover you. They couldn't be bothered in WT to escort bombers or attack planes. Gaijin has pretty well made that impossible anyway. No plane spawns high enough and fast enough to ever catch a bomber to escort it. In IL2. fighters cover you all the time. The problem is, WT has gone out of its way to make it so fighters cannot escort bombers, and have perpetrated this philosophy that bombers and ground attack are useless. Gaijin even went so far as to lower the rewards for bomber and attack planes to the point where it is not worth taking them out because of the ridiculous repair costs and costs of bombs, rockets and ammo. Now we have it that not even 2X1000 kg bombs dropped on a pill box will do any damage. There is no splash affect. Planes can fly right through a bombs explosion and receive no damage (So much for the "surprise" award). Nope Gaijin has pretty much destroyed anything to do with ground attack and bombers. For escorting bombers, attackers and fun doing ground attacks and close air support, play IL2 Sturmovik.
Last patch they fixed the issue with bombs rarely doing damage. Bombers and attackers are not useless, but about 3/4 matches is won by shooting down planes. The rest by destruction of ground targets/bases, but yeah, victory by plane kill is standard. Other than that i agree with you.
you can't kill a pillbox with 2 1000kg bombs... i can kill a pillbox with 2 1000 lbs bombs in rb (1 1000lbs bomb in ab) which is ~ half the size of the 1000kg bombs, and in tank rb i've killed planes and tank in the same bomb drop.
I hate when you have played War Thunder so much and switch to another game that has tanks in them and you think "Does this RPG really penetrate that tank?"
Cut down on hypocrisy and give IL-2 it's 4 containers of 48 HEAT ПТАБ 2.5-1.5 bomblets? Oh, wait, that one is probably reserved to become premium later on:D
so far I've been playing this game for about a year and in my entire bloody career I only have had 12 strangers escort me, I think that war thunders tutorial should include escorting bombers so that people with fighters are more likely to escort bombers because nowadays you need to rush to your bombing site say bombs away and get shot down by a high flying bf-109, or if you're lucky you can get away with all the bases destroyed but I've only had that a couple of times as well.
I like how he said " Ask a fighter to cover you" as if war thunder players work together when flying, from personal experience, Get some friends into a squad and jump on discord or Teamspeak and work together from there even then its a terror to get into a decent formation seeing how fighters spawn on the ground and bombers spawn 2 km above them and how if a bomber spawns on the ground it takes him ages to get to a safe alt before just being mulched by enemy fire, anything else is nearly impossible and pointless to even try, Seening how most players in random battles are self centered and only caring for him or her self.
Not to mention anything under 500lbs does seem to do anything anymore. like if you drop it 1m away from a tank it doesn't kill it but in ground battles thats over kill. MAKE YOU BOMBS CONSTANT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BOMB MORE PRECISELY IN AIR BATTLES THAN GROUND BATTLES AT THE SAME TARGET WITH THE SAME BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
with how focused fighers are on dog fighting and as piss poor as the bombs are I jsut end up taking a medium or heavy bomber and using it like a tactical bomber. I've done dive bombing with heavy bombers and simply carpet bombed entire armored columns and half the time everyone doesnt even notice.
5:50 My longest Arcade Match lasted 30 minutes and I won by taking the Airfeild out and the 4 bases on my own without escort (I was at 20000 feet) and I got 14k sl for the Airfeild kill and won.
One solution to the Ground Strike problem: rework Fighters into Interceptors and Escorts. Like in real life, fighters would intercept or escort the bombers to targets and back. Interceptors get something like 1.5x rewards for a bomber kill, Escorts get about 2x rewards for killing Interceptors but lose points for their assigned bomber dying. That way, it’s more realistic and fun for bomber players.

You need to do something with bombers: they are really too easy targets because nobody protect them. I suggest to improve the damage caused by bombers gunners or to reward who protect a bomber
or increase gunner accuracy because they have the aim of a storm trooper i norm get attacked as i am about to drop bombs and if i have to manually use my gunners in order for them to hit anything than i cant drop bombs and if i dont control them then i die and cant drop bombs her in lies the problem
How about dynamic BR when equipping bomb onto fighters, most of those have skewed BR because of this. Make an option that lower the BR before the match if you choose not to have bombs available in-game.
Look for team mates being tailed by red, just casually fly past like yer on a different mission, then circle around behind the 3 reds who are cutting your team mate ap art, and make the kill. Many times your able to disrupt the enemy by popping off a few rounds between them... Ok, time to go play...
As an arcade player, also see what planes your enemies have. Big thing is to avoid Japanese aircraft, or extend if your first strike on them doesn't kill them (low BR mainly, I'm not to jets yet)
My personal advice if your bombing a stationary location like for example a base set a timer delay then drop bombs and run to protection of your fighters

The premise of trying to fight while carrying bombs (ex: P-47) is right, IF you try that. Most of the time I bomb then dogfight or, if enemy plane is too close, I ditch my bombs and engage the plane. RARELY will I try to shoot other aircraft (usually medium bombers or low-maneuverability planes) while carrying my bomb load.
“Escort your bombers”, by the time you get to their altitude he’s already 25Km Out And “Naval Fighters” which are bassicly just Fighters already have killed 75% of your bombers
please bring us the arcade maps and the Ground strike mode for realistic battles these maps are way more interesting because of the hills and multi targets etc.

I honestly am more efficient playing in Ground Realistic Battles as a CAS... And it feels right, somehow. But hey, this video isn't about this. Somehow this video makes me play Air Realistic more often. IDK why.
You don’t play close air support in air arcade but I you want to play attack aircraft and bombers do it in air rb. I have found the community in air rb to communicate and sometimes cover you.

Notice at 1:37 how easilly a vehicle can be spotted on ground (this is AI) from the smoke produced, in random battles can run around compleetly undetected, this is rediculus guys, fix it plz.
WT always call upon its real ness, but in real life, people in bombers could walk around and repair parts of the plane, also, fighter aircraft shouldn’t spawn 2 feet higher than bombers. I tried playing bombers in tier 2 and lost 200,000 silver eagles even though I bombed 2 bases to their full extent, also, there should be more of a reward for escorting bombers than just “bomber rescuer”, because my friends will spend half the match just climbing to help escort me as I slowly run out of fuel, and by the time I reach the enemy bases all my friends are dead or to damaged to fight, while im getting half the enemy team destroying my B-17 because all the enemy’s are in the dead zone somehow, I enjoy the game but it should be more fair for bomber pilots and the people who are nice enough to actually escort bombers
Oh and could you please add a penalty for shooting at already dead players, because I’ve lost so many crew members to people shooting at me even though I am spiraling out of control and pose no threat to them
I must say i see you had some right intentions, and half of the tips you mentioned in this video are actually good, but everything related to bombers mentioned in this video is WRONG!
PS. Trying to escort bombers in AB is kinda a horrible idea, cus you either die trying to defend them and then leave them without escort, or they die because they get killed by an approaching enemy fighter literally before you could aim at it.
When sooo Xbox players have the ability to squad up with pc players? Also can Xbox players squad up with other Xbox players? (Very few people play warthunder on the Xbox) also I’ve noticed an issue it could possibly be at my end, but occasionally I meet players in battle who have mics, but I hook up my mic and they can’t seem to hear me, any tips ? @@dustinsmith8812 it's all good man, so, if you go to the war thunder page on your Xbox (there's a tab for it) and go to the muliplayer tab on the warthunder page, it will show what's called "looking for group" posts, people post these who are trying to squad up. Xbox has it for every game. You can post one yourself too.
I know this video is a year old but: Funny how they made a ground attack video on arcade battles and not realistic, it's like they know that bombers and attackers are less useful in that mode.

"Drive those pesky fighters away from your bombers operational altitude" No one ever took that advice. Me personally, I never appear in my heavy bomber above 2000ft after taking off from the field. It rather surprisingly works and I find I more often get a fighter escort.
@@an2939 I've started flying high again with certain bombers as of this new update. I mostly play British bombers and for example their Lancasters work better on the deck while the Shackleton works better in a diving base run from bomber altitude and the likes of some of the others you need to climb. It's situational and depends on the plane.
I Try it that some Players escort me but they dont help me. After 1min i died. I hatte this. I wish they becomme points or something like this then they help to make it more attracktive

How do i get light pillbox kills using hvars? I counted a few direct hits, and it didnt destroy them? One even went sort of inside the gun window! And nada! Usually hvars were a one hit ko for light pill boxes and light/medium tanks...
Mikeyh984 Not soviet rockets... a I-15 can have 8 AP rockets that explode and pen up to 89mm of armor!! And thats reserve planes for christ sake!! Not to mention the post war ammo... and 4 mg’s instead of 2...
ah, was it just rp-3s HVARS and other rockets of that sort then that got nerfed? The gladiator has 4 mgs which is a 1.3 and wouldn't take long to get (but it's not reserve)... personally i don't like the mgs on the i-15... i wish they were ShKas guns instead.

that's why i play strike fighters and dive bomber with actual weapons
i often play medium bombers for this very reason, you can drop 2 bombs for 1 target if you need.
I usually use attack aircraft like the ju-87 stuka, never had a serious problem except with agile fighters

I just felt like adding this. Yes while the point of air battles is to destroy/capture the objectives, the majority of the fun is in crazy dogfights.

well, maybe if you gain something scorting a bomber it will be easier for them, like a medal for each target a bomber takes while you scort it

Asking your random teammates for cover is like asking a hippopotamus to write the script of a new blockbuster movie, it just isn’t happening.
I honestly am more efficient playing in Ground Realistic Battles as a CAS... And it feels right, somehow.
But hey, this video isn't about this.

The problem with PS4 is no one cares about the ground targets and go for aircraft kills instead and no one cares about team work especially on arcade
What’s teamwork
You don’t play close air support in air arcade but I you want to play attack aircraft and bombers do it in air rb. I have found the community in air rb to communicate and sometimes cover you.
here is what I do 1. go to airstrips 2. take out planes after bombing and bomb again once I have it again 3. when fighting take out bombers 4. repeat
just add a spawn for fighters at 4000m in the air,gaijicles,plz fix

Notice at 1:37 how easilly a vehicle can be spotted on ground (this is AI) from the smoke produced, in random battles can run around compleetly undetected, this is rediculus guys, fix it plz.
WT always call upon its real ness, but in real life, people in bombers could walk around and repair parts of the plane, also, fighter aircraft shouldn’t spawn 2 feet higher than bombers. I tried playing bombers in tier 2 and lost 200,000 silver eagles even though I bombed 2 bases to their full extent, also, there should be more of a reward for escorting bombers than just “bomber rescuer”, because my friends will spend half the match just climbing to help escort me as I slowly run out of fuel, and by the time I reach the enemy bases all my friends are dead or to damaged to fight, while im getting half the enemy team destroying my B-17 because all the enemy’s are in the dead zone somehow, I enjoy the game but it should be more fair for bomber pilots and the people who are nice enough to actually escort bombers
Oh and could you please add a penalty for shooting at already dead players, because I’ve lost so many crew members to people shooting at me even though I am spiraling out of control and pose no threat to them

i use bombs not rockets, a German CAS is fine for me
War Thunder is like a teacher that deliberately make the Task harder but also tells the Students how to beat every single one of them

I must say i see you had some right intentions, and half of the tips you mentioned in this video are actually good, but everything related to bombers mentioned in this video is WRONG!
PS. Trying to escort bombers in AB is kinda a horrible idea, cus you either die trying to defend them and then leave them without escort, or they die because they get killed by an approaching enemy fighter literally before you could aim at it.
What if they plane on your team don’t come to support you?
After this video I can imagine all the Ace fighter pilots waiting for the new bomber pilots, to be easy targets.

When sooo Xbox players have the ability to squad up with pc players? Also can Xbox players squad up with other Xbox players? (Very few people play warthunder on the Xbox) also I’ve noticed an issue it could possibly be at my end, but occasionally I meet players in battle who have mics, but I hook up my mic and they can’t seem to hear me, any tips ? @@dustinsmith8812 it's all good man, so, if you go to the war thunder page on your Xbox (there's a tab for it) and go to the muliplayer tab on the warthunder page, it will show what's called "looking for group" posts, people post these who are trying to squad up. Xbox has it for every game. You can post one yourself too.

I know this video is a year old but: Funny how they made a ground attack video on arcade battles and not realistic, it's like they know that bombers and attackers are less useful in that mode.

Me personally, I never appear in my heavy bomber above 2000ft after taking off from the field. It rather surprisingly works and I find I more often get a fighter escort.

@@an2939 I've started flying high again with certain bombers as of this new update.
I mostly play British bombers and for example their Lancasters work better on the deck while the Shackleton works better in a diving base run from bomber altitude and the likes of some of the others you need to climb.
It's situational and depends on the plane.
If my team is desperate like 1 enemy tank and 1 friendly tank usually i just kamikaze to the target

I Try it that some Players escort me but they dont help me. After 1min i died. I hatte this. I wish they becomme points or something like this then they help to make it more attracktive

How do i get light pillbox kills using hvars? I counted a few direct hits, and it didnt destroy them? One even went sort of inside the gun window! And nada!
Usually hvars were a one hit ko for light pill boxes and light/medium tanks...
rockets got nerfed in 1.71 (i think it was that patch)
Mikeyh984 Not soviet rockets... a I-15 can have 8 AP rockets that explode and pen up to 89mm of armor!! And thats reserve planes for christ sake!! Not to mention the post war ammo... and 4 mg’s instead of 2...
ah, was it just rp-3s HVARS and other rockets of that sort then that got nerfed? The gladiator has 4 mgs which is a 1.3 and wouldn't take long to get (but it's not reserve)... personally i don't like the mgs on the i-15... i wish they were ShKas guns instead.
