This is a new episode of our “Climbing the ranks” series, and today we’re going to speak about Soviet aircraft. Oh boy, are there are lot of interesting aircraft to cover here: Soviet engineers produced many fearsome designs throughout the years.

The in game replays seem to have trouble rendering the exact paths of the bullets. Or rendering them at all for cannons above 20mm
Not all belts full tracers only choose to have it mix you know if you play the game.

You're kind of weird. Work the code just with russian against all other nations or also against russian aircraft themselves?
I played a lot of low tier battles with german, US, soviet and britian aircraft and I would rank there mixed over all target precision in exact the same way as above - it is more important where the guns are (more central or more outside - that is the reason why britian gets the last place), how much ammonution you have (because with Lawotschkins I have to be very careful to ammo consumption and so I just shoot when I am really sure of hiting and this sink the kill-death ratio because of no more lucky bullets) and what exact guns or cannons are installed.
The whole thing of russian bias is just a rationalizing lie - and I am not a russian guy, I'm from germany instead. ;-)

My favorite aircraft in WT : premium MiG-21F-13 with vodka fuelled Turmansky engine, Stronk and shiny STALINIUM fuselage, Radio modified to intensified soviet anthem, and armed with Russian Bias, even proved several times can kill enemy players without firing any ammo :)

My favorite is either the MiG 17 or Be-6. That boat is literally a gunship, especially if your enemy doesn’t know what they’re doing and fly straight behind you.
A funny story: In 1941, the I-15 Chaika was so bad, that the russian pilots flew right into the me 109...a russian "kamikaze" airplane:)

Fexil Sehn ion know man from what ive seen the mig21f is underperforming in the current patch, the 19pt is more viable and the f100 is barely used anymore due to its low acceleration. Im looking forward to that new mig21smt with the r60s, i think its gonna be the meta
IL-2 will always be my favorite, no question about it. However, I do love me some Yaks once in a while. I love using the 7B at low tier with those post-pen rockets and AP belts on both guns. The 20mm cannons and 12.7mm guns can tear through tanks and planes alike around 2.3, and those rockets are surprisingly powerful.

the tallboy earthqauke bomb (which might be why it wasnt implemented or it was too big) was a medium capacity bomb used by the british during ww2 and was the largest non nuclear bomb used during the war

WW I aircraft can barely fly. Literally only the late war fighters could even do a loop, because the earlier and mid war ones would stall if you tried.

@@thomasmatagne1405 I have to defend Hispanos. The air belts are incredible killers. He's right about ground belts in the Skvak 20s. My struggle right now is the Mig belts. I can't find one that sparks less.
@@Berserker3062 Haven't played british air in a while so i can't really say how hispanos are now but they used to be even worse than the shvak. And for them just use the armored targets one and spray center of mass, if you get lucky you'll manage to snipe out the pilot

All very good ones, but my favorite one will still be the AR-2. Bombs on a line, or diving, and turns on a dime. And on arcade (where most of us started), i could usually outturn a spitfire, which was hilarious! XD IDK if it still can... but i still love it xD
I started playing a few weeks ago and that's one of my first planes. Not outturning spitfires for sure, but i'm still a noob and the plane is good.
@@dracofenix3860 Well the fab 500 bombs are realy Strong (can oneshot a base) and the defesive armorment is good but has a lot of blindspots.

Fun fact: Tu-4 was a copy of B-29, in 1945 B-29s made a emergency landing in USSR. Although Allied they just released the pilots and transported the planes to the Tupolev Beraeu so they can have it in mass numbers as the Soviets lacked heavy bombers. So yes, it is her old sister.

the very first pe-3 will always hold a dear place in my heart, with its distance-fuzed rockets each holding an explosive mass of 4.9 kilograms. It is always a very therapeutic experience for me to see a fighter trying to win a head-on, only to get blown to smithereens with Stalin's approval. 10/10 would rocket again.
I love many Soviet and Russian planes, but the IL-2 is my favourite.

The truth is: soviet aircraft are broken between br 4.0 and 6.0 due to japanese ridiculous climb rate and dive speed. Forgot to mention russian cannons inconsistency that sparks as hell.

Proceeds to forget about the Russian K4 (Yakovlev 9u) which is an aircraft that can even slap a P51h in acceleration below 3k and spank a Corsair in a stall fight
Let me sum up most of the russian planes from my experience (researching tier IV, stopped playing them really long time ago):
Mediocre cannons with really low ammo count.
What? they have good ammo
If you have that problem then aim
Similar to the JU-88 mission, I was playing an Artillery bombing mission with an SB 2M-103B, but instead of ignoring the foggy condition, after bombing Artillery, and instead destroying that Bomber like I did with the JU-88, it severely damaged the SB-2M-103B and had to respawn, and as I said, instead of ignoring the foggy conditions, I completely pierced the clouds and climbed to over 7000 feet, even though the SB-2M-103B is useful in low altitude since it is a light Bomber, that high of an altitude it actually got when I flew it on that mission, I have other plans instead, btw, see that roundel, the MIG-15BIS is used by the North Korean Air Force

I guess my favourite one is MiG-15bis, Im enjoying MiG-19PT as well. But I feel like that new MiG-21 with R-60's is the most enjoyable plane for me.

The I-29 is my favorite Premium I still fly it out to grind lions at Tier 1
Many aircraft are so expensive that you cannot and will not want to use them in realistic ground combat. The Yak 9 has such high repair costs that it is best not to use it at all. This is the same case with other aircraft. In order to earn something at all, I prefer to use planes that do not have such high repair costs. 16,000,18,000 or even over 20,000 SL are simply too many to use these aircraft. If you are not an absolute professional player, you will lose a lot of money if you use these planes and thus lose the desire to play.
Will you add the SEPCAT Jaguar for UK and France because that is what the T-2 was based of? Also, please dont make it premium if you do decide to add it.

@@Zero-vl8ji The Japaneese wanted to order Jaguars but it was too expensive so the Japaneese made their own aircraft using a simmilar airframe but things like the nose are different.

2.if it's going really slow,overfly it and bomb it in the air

Ground Targets, 400m Convergence, thats what i find that works ok at best. Give it a go! Spitfire 5c's benefit the most from that belt setup with the convergence

Also, ask Gaijin directly on the forms
aim them right, and you can instakill aircraft and some ground targets
If you look more into it the war thunder Hispanos are more superior to real ones which would overheat at 2times tbr speed (Hispano mkv)
Best Advice i can give with Hispano's is you need the Weight of shot, 2 cannons cant really provide that, Yes, you can get kills but its about weight of shot. Mk Vc Spitfires work wonders with the Ground Target belts. 400-500m convergence makes them really deadly.
When it comes to spitfires armed with 2 cannons, again, weight of shot is a factor, so you have to get in close with a close gun convergence to secure as much damage as possible
