You got it from your Father,
It was all he had to give.
So it's yours to use and cherish,
For as long as you live.
If you lose the watch he gave you,
      It can always be replaced.
But a black mark on your name, Son,
      Can never be erased.
It was clean the day you took it,
      And worthy name to bear.
When he got it from his Father,
      There was no dishonor there.
So make sure you guard it wisely,
After all is said and done.

When you give it to your son.

@@edfurmsm9188 To answer your question, that young marine is standing at attention. Not all soldiers stand at attention like that…. Marines definitely do. They learn that very specific posture beginning day one of boot camp and it becomes ingrained muscle memory for the whole of their lives thereafter. In this case, the young man’s musculature and physique amplifies the intensity of the posture making it very prominent. That intensity and physical prowess is a hallmark of most marines.
Standing at attention for any soldier is their way of giving their full undivided attention where it needs to be, preventing distraction, and is their way of showing formal respect to the person to whom they are giving their attention. Such attention and respect is typically given to those who are of higher rank or to those who have earned it, in this case his father.

This man remembers the times of his son being a baby, and now being able to be the first to salute him. He was the first for many things in this man's life and now he gets to be the first to salute. So incredibly powerful. This is why it is so important to have a mother and father always be a part of their children's lives, from beginning to end. This made me cry.
