Interesting, Dad has also, besides his gazillion other ribbons, the german marksmanship lanyard in gold. Also, good job on raising your daughter the way you did!
This is such a great feeling! Received my first salute from my dad as well, retired Sgt (Vietnam Vet) and also had the honour of having him present my certificate - and salute - on my graduate of Captains course! Congratulations to the both of you!
Not many 2nd Lieutenants have the gall about them to throw an order at a 26 year Veteran SFC. Rank is one thing, but general respect is the name of the game in the military.
The smiles on both of their faces when she placed that Military Appreciation cord around his neck was bigger and brighter than many others that I've ever seen -- through my tears! What a special, proud, respectful and joyous day for them both! God Bless.

I remember the first time my dad. a retired Navy CE9, saw me in my uniform. He said, " Im so proud of you.....but you should of joined the navy." One of the best moments of my life. Congrats to the new crop of Army Excellence!
Great comment and story, thank you. The comment can be corrected to: "..should have joined the Navy". Not "should of". Small thing I know. But it's such an important statement.
what an absolutely BEAUTIFUL moment between Father and Daughter. I loved every minute of it and cried the entire time. You can just see the obvious love that they have for each other.
Congratulations to you both ! Thank you both for your service and the sacrifice you make for this country and to protect yours freedom and civil rights as well as mine. God bless you both🇺🇸
What a beautiful relationship they have. My dad was also an American solider for 26 years and considering I am only 23 years old, I know first hand what soldiers who are serving and those families members who are left to carry on their lives, having little or no contact between them. My dad was deployed when I was born and didn't get to hold me til I was 6 months old, he missed me graduating school, also missed me going off to prom, and then going to college. I have so much respect for my dad, he gave up so much but at the same time taught me so much. So just to finish off a would like to say a big THANK YOU to those who are and have served xx
I didn't cry but the special love of the Father of a daughter is lovely to see. Thank both of your for your service. That may sound strange coinciding I am a Canadian but I respect all who serve their own country.
This video gave me chills all over. And it made me cry as well. What a shining, proud moment for these two. And all of America! Many thanks to both for serving our country. God bless you and keep you safe 💗.
Wow this is awesome. The love between the both of you is just so genuine and so obvious. Congratulations to you both as well as to your family for their sacrifices. Thank you both for your bravery and for your service. Several military people in my family past and present let us always support them a small gesture means a lot. Thank you both & Happy Father's Day
Congratulations soldiers! That is one true dad who really loves his daughter. It was emotional for both of them. Well done dad u made her proud! May God bless both of them!
Proud to be in the same graduating class and school as this man! Y'all stay strong and safe. The good ole boys back home got your back! Land of the free and home of the brave!
That is so sweet and I recognize the "specialness" of this occasion. I was a former NCO in the Army and I trained at Ft. Benning, GA, in the 70's just a short walk from the OCS barracks. I really enjoyed the true, old traditions of the Army. Congrats to the new officers and their Silver Dollar Salute presenters.
God bless you and protect you. You're dad must have been a huge influence on you. God bless him for being your role model this is what America is about!
Truly one of the most beautiful moments in father and daughter moments, congratulations both of you, truly beautiful moment and respect to our allies across the pond.
Absolutely wonderful, very nice to see this, Congratulations and wish you to much Success for your new challenge, thank you for sharing this beautiful moment
After our passing out parade my dad gave me my first salute. He was in RAAF during WWII & thankfully stayed in country. I was so proud after graduating Officer Cadet Training.
Congratulations 2 both of you .... this made me cry . Now that my son is in the Airforce I understand all that our men and women in the military sacrifice to keep us safe and free.
And if there like that then I feel sorry for them... 😔 whatever made them that way must be horrible, evil isn’t born it’s made with bad experiences in life 🥺 i hope there ok
I am NOT an American, I came from Poland...But watching THIS, tears came out of me like a f.... river! There is NO OTHER COUNTY in this world, where moments like THIS are possible! God bless you all!
I'm an USAF Veteran and I say God Bless the both if you and your family. What a special moment. As a father of 2 amazing college daughter's, I feel for you. I was allowed to hand my daughters their diplomas. I will never forget.

Wow
I know your comment is three years old, but if your dad is still alive, please tell him, from me, “thank you for your service and welcome home.”
Does that mean he can no longer tell her to go to her room or clean her room as she out ranks him?
As the saying goes, "experience outranks everything"
Lol
She doesn't out rank him cause a retired officer can be re instated if necessary
