I will never forget my being tapped out. My oldest daughter was born while I was at BMT during BEAST Week. My first time seeing her was when my wife was carrying her and tapped me out. I have never cried greater tears of joy than at that moment. Seven years later, I still can remember that moment clear as day.
I cried with them-it brought back memories of when my husband and I tapped our son out 2 years ago. It's a great feeling! Congratulations and thank you for serving!
@Micho Rizo do you mind if I ask what the navy is like? I'm 13 and want to become a navy SEAL, I know that's a really hard position to land but i just wanted to ask what being in the navy is like? :) also thank you for your service
The build a bear with his voice got me crying knowing the little boy slept with it and kept listening to the voice, then i calmed down then when they were all hugging i cried again ;-;
So amazing.... makes you heavily think...my heart to all who serve and my heart to those who don't have anyone to come tap them out Thank you for risking your lives for us ❤❤
This brought tears to my eyes . I didn't have any family members at my Air Force Graduation way back in December ' 71. The company my dad worked for was on strike the day I left for basic training on 18 August ' 71 . The tap out part wasn't done when I graduated from Air Force basic training .
That really sucks. My son is in BMT right now, and we're looking forward to the Coin Ceremony and graduation. We have decided that if any members of his flight don't have any family with them, that we will pay them a visit and tap them out, just so they aren't left out.
Awesome inspiration! I loved buliding Build A Bears with my son and grandaughter when they were little! I'm so happy your younger son was able to hear his big brothers voice while he was away! :)
I recently just graduated from the 326th as well and dang it's really crazy to think that i've graduated at the same place where probably a million or more airmen have done the same.
They didn't have this when I got out of Army Basic training but didn't matter anyhow nobody would have been able to come anyhow. No way to afford round trip ticket(s) from Kansas to California. I imagine I wouldn't have been only one. Wonder what happens if somebody has no one there to tap them out.
GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN MILITARY YOU HAVE A NUMBER OF TIMES PULLED CIVILIZATION FROM THE BRINK AND GOD BLESS AL THE INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS WHO ACTUALLY STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND THEIR SUPPORTERS AND LOVING FAMILY
Can someone please answer me this. I've never been to one but is it tradition to yes have the ceremony but them having to stand at attention until their family comes to get them?
I didnt get a tapout from my family when I went through basic training in 1997. as a matter of fact my family didnt show up for family day or graduation. It was really heartbreaking. I did have one of my battle buddies parents tap me out and say, im adopting you. My drill instructors along with my buddy's mom both tapped me out on both events.
This honestly made me cry. Being an ex gf of an army soldier I know how important this is. I want able to do this due to school at the time and we later broke up but this hits home every time. The families and girlfriend or wives are so strong I know from experience
On a side note, not being from the US, I had to look up what the "Tap out" was about. Now I know, and what it means, I now feel sorry for, and wonder what happens with any service person who doesn't have anyone there to tap them out. Do they just stand there, as their hearts die inside, until a superior clears them to fall out? I hate the idea that someone could be standing there, alone, after everyone else leaves.
8 1/2 weeks? Try an 11Bravo 22 week cycle... let alone on standby.... I’m currently on my 32nd week at fort benning with 30 minute phone call in 6 months and it’s on eastern time while my family is in western.... #ARMYSTRONG
I don't remember anyone getting 'tapped out.' Maybe its because I graduated bmt in the AF in 2003. Maybe they do things dif now. I do remember my mom coming to see me shorty after the graduation ceremony and I had to pee soooooooo bad. Held it in for 6 hours prior. Maybe that's why I don't remember. And I think we had our coin ceremony after Warrior Week. P.S. 323 trs flt 003 back in 2003 was the baddest flight ever graduated. We had the hotshit Guidon and the hardest seinor instructors on the base. I'd still pit that short red haired man against the devil himself and bet all my money on that man. Respect to all those who join any of the armed forces. I loved my time in the USAF.
I'm gonna graduate Navy Basic Training with no one there cuz of Covid (as far as I know) so we will see what happens. I'd be cool with being there alone honestly
It takes good parenting to make a young man like this.

@@Militarykind what happens if no one there to tap them out?
His their MTI's will tap them out or they'll wait until they're able to leave. or a friend's family can do it.
❤️👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️
@@his3766 i think theyre buddys tap them out
I feel sad for the ones that didn’t get tapped out if that happened
some people in my flight didn't have family coming out, we made sure they had a great weekend and people stepped up and included them in their family.

I’m so proud of these young men!
That was very sweet and thoughtful, but they kept him waiting. The airman was suffering.
I swore in to the Airforce last week. Stuff like this keeps me motivated.
God, how wonderful it must be to be part of a wholesome loving family.
That's what you call... Family Love.❤
Thank you Dylan for your service..

At ease soldier. 💪🏿
I had dorm guard for our graduation way back in the day, and then got bussed right over to SP tech school. Such fun.
That made me cry 😢

How did tapping out originate I have not heard of this before

Caroline Morgan Yes
Thats not attention sir
My, how things have changed since I joined the USAF in 1977.
That's what the Air Force does. The Navy just calls liberty and the new sailors are dismissed to join their families if they are there.
@@cynthiatruitt992 So what does an orphan without family do?
My grandfather was in the Air Force before it was called the Air Force.

What does tap out mean?
Total water works at 1:18! ❤️🎉👏
Who taps them out if they have no family coming?
He gets tapped out by a buddy who already got tapped out.
Dominic Jongejan That's not even close to being true..
I had to keep reminding myself that this was 2 months and not 2 years.
No i am not crying, just having a bad flu which will go off after I watch this video
Someone please explain this tapping out thing???
I couldn't help but notice the guys in back that weren't getting tapped. Rough.

When they touched him at the same time i literally jumped back bursting into tears ughhh... I'm such a cry baby

So how does this work does the entire platoon? Stand and wait for there loved ones to come and tap them out? Can anyone tap them?
If theres no one to tap them out theyre friends who already got tapped out can tap them out
This tap out to soldier tradition is interesting. I don't think we have here in Indonesia
Only in the air force
