Thanks for an excellent and informative video. You provided details that have allowed me to fix my Samsung that lousy servicemen couldn’t fix. I’ll never again buy anything from Samsung. They are terrible at customer care. But thanks to you I might be able to keep it running for a while longer.
If you don’t want to hear any more sounds or beeps, you can pull the control panel. There are videos on how to do that. You then remove the white plastic cover on the back of the display and pull the round cover off the beeper. It is attached to the circuitboard with two very thin wires. Just snip them, and remove the noisemaker and put everything back together. Now you can run defrost silently every week and eliminate the icing problem.
I have a RS265TDRS and I can only get to OF when I press the freezer and lighting buttons. However, that works for me. I cannot get to the forced defrost mode like your model.
@middlejester51 thank you. I thought the whole refrigerator and freezer was defrosting. And on my model, it's not the buttons that he mentioned. My model is the RF28HFEDBSR/AA On my model, I have to press freezer and lighting button simultaneously for 8 to 9 seconds. And then press the lighting button to make your choice. Then choose FD For Freezer Defrost or RD For Refrigerator Defrost. The fridge defrost went for about 45 minutes and the freezer defrost went for 90 minutes. I chose to do the refrigerator a second round.Because I could still see there was ice build up in the slots at the back. Remove your long crisp tray. There will be a pool of water there. There was for me.
@@mattysco in my experience the RD defrost takes 2-3 hours if you’re really frozen. I always offload the fridge contents to coolers just to be safe. Definitely do it when you need a grocery run, not right after😂
Thank you man, this truly was easy. All of the other videos were vague. Great stuff!!

I believe this is the same my I have, RFG237 . How do I replace that control panel. Nothing but water works (suddenly)
Does this defrost the freezer only, the ice maker or the entire fridge?
Fd is freezer (ice maker) defrost. Rd is refrigerator defrost. If the fridge fan is making horrible noises, you need Rd, not Fd.
