THANK YOU SO MUCH! We have the exact same fridge. Our problem is water pooling under the fridge bottom tray. Any suggestions? Water is pooling under the defrost unit and not draining down to the drip pan. Thamks SO MUCH! Debra from Tx
My Samsung looks just like yours,,, Same problem,,,, freezer working fine,,,,,frig not cooling,, I’m gonna try your advice and see what happens,,,,, Your video was awesome. Such great instruction,, Thank you for sharing, A new subscriber!! 👏😁
Thank you! This is a common problem. The defrost coil doesn't go high enough in these, and it freezes the fan. Was going to do a permanent fix, but we moved to a boat faster than planned.
Chris,,, just wanted to give you some follow up,,,, Ran rd mode about 4 or 5 times and then reset to normal operation and temp of 38 F,,,, Yes,,,, it worked 😀 If recurrent problem, then I will take off the panel ,,,,,I feel very confident having your video as a resource,,, Thank you and your wife so much for the wonderful video content,,,,, Y’all take care and be safe,,, 👏😉
Thank you, we love that things we produce help others. We wish you and yours the best, hope that you don't have to do this that often. We probably did this around 3 times a year, but it is very humid in Florida.
Great video Great video. We have had this problem since buying the Samsung. Fixed under warranty twice. Now they refuse to fix it. 😢. I can’t get the power defrost on. Still trying to defrost it. Freezer works. Fan doesn’t work. Not cooling. Quoted repair is $750. Never buy Samsung
How bad did ur fridge get because mine is so bad that all the holes are filled with ice and where the metal thing is the shelves hook on to fills with ice I actually had to kill the power to it for 3 and a half days to thaw it out and here now it is right back to full of ice again and I live in Pennsylvania wasn't like that all summer as soon as I had to put the heat on it started freezing up
Ours never got this bad, but now that we live on a boat ice clogs our fridge in about a week. At our house i could use the AC to keep the humidity down to at 45% which really slowed down ice forming.
We just took the steps that you showed and when we removed the panel ong it was so iced up I have never seen one like this ever now we r just waiting it is like the drain is still frozen where the fins behind that panel are at so don't know how long that will take to thaw out never in my life have I ever had a fridge freeze up like this
I live in Pa and it is November and didn't have this problem till I believe it was September this year and I have had this fridge a few yrs now and the only thing that is different is the last 2 to 3 yrs we have had the water hooked up where for all the yrs before that it never was I was renting before and the landlord would not let me hook it up but now I am buying and I wanted it hooked up
I have a 3 year old Samsung refrigerator. It froze up for the first time. I'll never buy another one. I remember when refrigerators use to last 20+ years without service. Hahahaha, they're made to fail now.
followed your advice.......now works perfectly.....saved me buying a new fridge......samsung rep advised buying a new one!
That's great. We did have to do this a few times. The ice system is the issue.
Thanks you just saved me 150 dollars this is the best video on this type of refrigerator ❤❤
Thank you and glad it helped.

It could be the drains are clogged our the metal tray is not directing the water to the drains. You have to pull the panel off like we did to see this

Glad this helped.

Hope you get it sorted, and we would not buy another Samsung either. You can force defrost, is yours the same as ours?
Our washer, dishwasher, dryer, stove, and fridge are all samsung and they all have issues. Slowly replacing with may tag
Yes, don't think we will ever go with this brand again, but moving to a boat, so these won't be an option.

Had the same problem for years. Same fridge. Won't ever buy a Samsung again. Hated that fridge. Lowe's wound up giving us a full refund after 3 years
Guessing it's preparing us for dealing with a fridge on a sailboat.
My Samsung came with my house when I bought it in 2020. I will never buy another one - I’ve had to defrost multiple times and it’s a real pain to do.
Yes it is. Don't think we will either when we buy another house. Can say it doesn't frost up as much as a boat freeze which we have now.
Great Video, very informative!!! We have also had our share of problems with Samsung refrigerators.
Thank you! Don't think we would get this brand again. Our biggest grip is how loud it is, have to turn it off for recipe videos.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I am having trouble getting the cover removed. All the clips are out but the top section isn’t budging. Could it be iced/frozen in place?
We had to go through the defrost process, and then you may have to shut the fridge off for a bit. Ours was stuck with ice.

Yep, build quality has gone down over time.
