Love your discussions and the questions you bring up! I think you're asking a lot of the right ones, especially regarding the concept of free will versus predestination. Lucifer himself pointed out a couple of episodes ago, that no one *actually* knows what God wants, or intends, or to what extent he's actually pulling the strings, so to speak. Many of the characters make assumptions about it, but it's always good to question whether those assumptions are correct or not!

As for Uriel, God did not send him. It was established that Uriel came down on his own, because he was worried that the "mum" would make her way back to Heaven and harm their father, God. So he came down to take care of business by getting the mother and sending her back to hell.
welcome back! just to clear some things, uriel come back on his own, it was his idea to smite his mother, this was clear during the conversation between Lucifer and Uriel before the fight. god has nothing to do with that. Did you realize that this is the first time that Lucifer is empathic with someone? Lucifer is the least empathetic person there is, yet he allowed himself to be embraced by Chloe in the final scene. This is a breakthrough in his character development. Lucifer only has physical contact with humans through sex, in other settings he simply does not like to be touched. However with Chloe he made an execption.
Lucifer forgiving himeself ? Free will versus a path predetermined by god ? Is it possible for Amenadiel to get back his powers ? The Godess full of fresh energy ? A liitle bit of background info on Chloe or Lux ? Good points. It may take a while, but you will get your answers. :-) On Lucifer and Chloe: Their relationship is just like so wholesome right now that I cant see it getting messed up. YOU HAVE NO IDEA ! I think you should discuss this topic again after having watched some more seasons. :-) Enjoy the excellent story writing of this show, its really worth it. And do not look for Morgan Freeman any more, he is not in the show. Look for Mr. Johnson instead. But before that, have some Candy ready. ;-)

In this series god kind of reminded me of Lex luthor's pov of God in bvs:doj "if God is all-powerful then he cannot be all good, and if he is all good then he cannot be all-powerful," if God is omnipotent and knows all then that mean he let Lucifer's rebellion happen, don't get me wrong I'm all for free will but it doesn't allow him to be all-powerful. I view him more as a king looking over his kingdom (which is what he is), not everything is going to be good and sometimes there'll be doubts kind of like how Amenidiel is feeling. Even in old stories God did have some doubts like with Job but if he made a mistake he tried to make it right.
Yes that concept threw me for a loop in college. Either you have a non-omnipotent God and free will or an omnipotent God and no free will. Philosophically. In terms of theology there is more room to consider how both may be true at the same time since both exist in the Bible. This show is allowing both to somehow be true.
Angel’s are just like people with powers and wings and only god’s right hand talks to god. So Uriel did not get sent by god. Angel’s are just a civilization that knows god exists but doesn’t talk to god
You aren't Christians, are you? :) God is all-powerful, but considers Himself bound by His own rules. In this case, if He over-rode free will He would destroy it. ...I am reminded of a story from a history of WW2: during the German invasion of Holland, a woman complained the people must have been terribly sinful for God to have visited this upon them. An old man next to her exclaimed "Don't blame God for this! Men make war, not God!" Thus free will. People make bad choices and He must let them do so. Speaking as someone who has already binge watched season 6, it's interesting to watch your journey discovering the series. Sometimes your guesses are far off base, then other times you show great insight. As I said, it's fun to watch.
