We live near a chicken farm. Farmers grow corn for them and then use the chicken manure for fertilizer. Every year, the farmers win awards for the most yield per acre in the whole state.
Natural fertilizer is always better. My grandma had pigs chickens and goats, when its time to clean the floor cage the water and manure just wash off right behind fruit trees and the grass. The grass is always lush all year long for cows and goats to feed and fruits for us to to snack on. Everything was a never ending cycle.
Great Video George. Chicken manure is a great fertilizer that’s been used for years on grass. The problem though is the odor that comes after watering. I used a product on my lawn called Chickity Doo Doo. Man did it green up the lawn. I used it for a couple of seasons until the neighbors started to complain about the odor. It was bad. So I stopped using it to keep peace. My wife hated it too. Was the odor bad from this product after watering it in? Chicken Liter was used long before these synthetic fertilizers of today. My lawn is low in both P & K in the back so based. George, can this fertilizer be applied any time of the season, including tge middle of summer, or do you recommend a specific time? Does it also help condition soil due to the manure?

@@3rdyellow For your initial application of AMS, I recommend using a half rate of 0.2 lbs in 1-2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq.ft. every 1-2 weeks. This recommendation is to account for any overlapping and excessive water usage caused by lack of experience with the sprayer. Initially, dissolve the AMS in a gallon of hot water and ensure that the strainer screen is in place before adding the dissolved AMS into the sprayer. Any undissolved particles should be caught by the strainer to prevent clogging. After adding the dissolved AMS to the tank, top up with cold water, replace the lid, shake well, and check the nozzles for any blockages before use. With practice, you should be able to reduce the carrier (water) usage to approximately 1 gallon per 1,000 sq.ft if your sprayer is properly calibrated. Assess the lawn the next day to see how even the coverage was and make any adjustments if needed for the next application. Apply the foliar fertilizer in the morning, as plants absorb more at this time (or the evenings if you can't spray in the AM), and allow the AMS to sit on the lawn for 3-4 hours before watering the fertilizer in. Once comfortable, you can gradually increase the AMS application to 0.3 - 0.4 lbs per 1,000 sq.ft and reduce the carrier amount based on the sprayers calibration.

I have another urea/blue def experiment idea. Where does the 0.15 lb of N per 1k sq ft come from? What if you do an experiment where you have a bunch of strips of grass and on one strip you do a rate of 0.1 lb/1k sq ft, the next 0.2, the next 0.3 and so on until you start to do too much. So the full range of too little all the way to too much will be represented and you can judge for the most effective rate to get the best results using your application technique. You could even repeat the same test when applying in very hot weather vs cool weather to see if that has an effect.
I wish we’d seen the before/after from a comparable angle and same time of day. It makes it hard to see any results when the before-shot is taken from the street in full-sun, while the after is taken from the house at sunrise/set.
I have the echo. Pretty good, definitely could be better about getting the last 10% out of the hopper. But it isn’t garbage like every Scott’s spreader I’ve had

@@PrincessCutLawnCare Yes Turf Titan is good and results are excellent. Mix it up with whatever you're doing.
Yikes this would cost me over $100 per month to us this stuff. There are websites where you can buy higher quantities of this stuff for 3x cheaper, but still expensive.
We are currently working on a side by side test of liquid fertilizer
Forbidden Dippin Dots 😨
Bro I love your videos but please wear a different shirt next time..
thanks bro but im a minimalist bro, i wear same thing everyday 😂
got more important things to focus on
PLEASE change the YT music. Mother in law heard it and was dancing around the kitchen like a 277 lb Tasmanian devil
You should get an echo spreader. Scott’s are junk
I heard good things, you like it?
I have the echo. Pretty good, definitely could be better about getting the last 10% out of the hopper. But it isn’t garbage like every Scott’s spreader I’ve had
@@PrincessCutLawnCare it’s definitely better than Scott’s, only complaint is the stand at the bottom can dig into your lawn if you don’t hold it up properly
George are you still doing videos? Nothing for over 3weeks? Love your channel hope all is good!
Hi Vern! I’ve been on vacation the past 2 weeks enjoying time with the family 😃
We’ll be be dropping a new video tomorrow (hopefully lol)
Just put some down your video can’t wait to see the results
You know it isnt summer when all the yrds around yours looks just as green😂. Bro lawns always look greener during dusk😂
Not yet but it’s getting there haha
Why advertise a product that is difficult to get????
Is it difficult to get?
Mine came in 2 days
I love you George, but that spreader is hot garbage.
lol how old is the one you used? They changed the design 2 years ago, it’s much better now
@@PrincessCutLawnCare my neighbor has a new one and his lawn looked like a green maze mr beast video. I think when the lawn is dewy or it's light precipitation, the hollow wheels still catch material and leaves trails. User error? Probably, but these things are marketed toward people who are noobs.
@@buster7618 I have the Scott's handheld battery operated one and it is horrible. Any solid advice for a good, reliable spreader? I have a relatively small lawn so handheld is probably all I'd need since I apply sprays most of the time. Thanks for any recommendations!
@@buster7618 I used mine last week for the first time in morning dew conditions and was very surprised how much product got stuck in the inward-facing parts of the wheels. It was a lot!
What a suprise that you and Jessy review same thing few days apart. TBH it clearly sounds as a paid video for someone trying to push a Milorganite V.2
They did not pay either of us for our videos but to be fully transparent we both approached them together once we found out they were bringing their professional golf course products to the diy market because it intrigued us both. They did not pay us but if you so choose to use our links we can earn a commission, if not no worries, I hope that clears things up for you
@@PrincessCutLawnCare I am living in another world, maybe. NO proffessional golf course in 1000 miles radius uses any of this. The cost per pound of Nitrogen is prohibitive for any place that runs a business. Sorry man, superintendent here. Don't sell this, the way you do.
Not cost efficient at $44 a bag for 5,000 square feet.
Definitely pay up for organic materials, if you want more cost efficient than I recommend some straight urea
When it cots more to ship than the cost of the fertilizer... not worth it.
shipping heavy materials in expensive unfortunately
I’m having the same problem with “lawn creeps.” 😂 They love that thicc green grass. Just spray them with the water hose.
haha im gonna have to start doin the same 😂
Another sponsored push. See how these youtubers don't push milorganite anymore. 😂
not sponsored, would be nice though!
