    Are you a lefty? I wouldn't want mine to swing out right in front of my non-aiming eye and kill peripheral vision when i'm not using the magnifier.

    Very nice! I have the same Red Dot. Will probably go with the same magnifier but not sure about that mount. I'd like mine to tilt, off to the right instead I'm thinking. Great camera work my friend, crispy clean. Thanks.

    Hi Silhouette Steve
    And thanks for this video. Looking to add a magnifier to my AP Pro.

  • @beausandland
    @beausandland 2 года назад

    Good video man.
    I’ve always been hesitant to add a magnifier behind my Aimpoint PRO cause the thing is soooo big just by itself, then adding a magnifier behind it, would just make the whole combo too bulky/long/heavy of a package on top of my AR imo. I may just go the Sig Juliet micro 3x magnifier, much smaller and Sig makes solid stuff.

    Great video. Just got my Aimpoint Pro (love it) but decided I do need the magnifier, I have DDM4V7 Pro and it has an 18" barrel on it so just the red dot didn't seem enough. So I just ordered this magnifier, now I impatiently wait for it. But watching your video makes me want it faster, I did get the tilt off to side mount instead though, it was part of the package deal, so I may have to get another if I don't like it. I digress great video, I'm stoked! Thanks!

    • @ryanmccarthy2693

      Magnifier itself is half the price of the red dot. The Aimpoint flip mount is obnoxiously priced when bundled with the 3x.

    Nice setup! But I would have looked into the Larue side flipping magnifier mount if I were you. Maybe it's just personal preference but I've never liked the swing mounts. With the larue you can still look through the magnifier even though it's not in front of the red dot like it's a spotting scope of sorts.

    You moved the Aimpoint Pro to place the magnifier, do you have to zero the Aimpoint again or there is no need to zero it?

    • @lostarkoutdoors6287
      @lostarkoutdoors6287  3 года назад +1

      Hi Mike, sorry I didn’t see this sooner. Conventional wisdom would likely support checking the zero on an optic like this any time you change its position on the rail. Though, in all practicality, it’s likely not changed by much. This isn’t a long-range optic and as a result the difference between POI and POA are relatively small due to the shorter ranges.
      At the end of the day, if it was my rifle I’d check it. I want to have all the confidence in the world that my rounds are going exactly where I want them to.

    • @lostarkoutdoors6287
      @lostarkoutdoors6287  4 года назад +2

      In reality, I should have mine swinging the other way, so this would be the ideal way for a leftie. And yes, you can swap it.

    • @nc_classics_9610
      @nc_classics_9610 5 лет назад +1

      Either would allow you to do it...what range is your dot Zeroed for? With a 100 yard zero you need to hold 120 inches over target for 600y...thats not easy to do. A ACSS optic would be a big help

      @@lostarkoutdoors6287 Most of ADM's mounts are designed to have the quick release on the left side so if you're a righty, the magnifier should flip to the right side so it's out of your way as JeffShootsStuff pointed out.

      I put the mount on backwards for the video. I should have had it swing out and away from my view (as a righty) so that I could use both eyes when not using the magnifier.
      The mount allows you to have it rotate to either side.

      Totally agree, originally purchased a Primary Arms flip to side magnifier mount. Bad idea, not well made and metal shaving would fall off not to mention the mount wiggles. I've always followed the buy once cry once philosophy, learned my lesson so a Larue mount will be arriving tomorrow.
