Great recipe and I have tried it. Best one yet. Two/three tips though. Cook the chicken a little longer breast side down to ensure that it is fully cooked. Secondly put the butter on first then season. That way seasoning sticks. Thirdly add additional chicken or chilly seasoning as well for a bit of a bite if you like.
Thank you for sharing. I've just bought the Cosori Dual Blaze and was thinking about cooking a whole chicken. So glad I stumbled upon your channel. Clear explanation of the method, ingredients and beautifully presented. I would never have thought of it, but removing the grilling base to cook the whole chicken makes a lot of sense.
I think it should be added that you should always check your food with an instant read digital thermometer. The chicken looked great but you don't want to under or over cook it. I do agree letting the chicken rest for a bit does increase the cooking temp 5 or 10 degrees.
Love this recipe but...how about recipes using the Dual Blaze's other functions beside air fryer & when to use the crisper or not. Best air fryer so far! Thanks.
Should you use some oil in the bottom of the basket before you add the chicken? Also, I'm curious as to why you removed the crisper plate? I've watched numerous videos on this and you are the only one that removed the crisper plate.
Thank you Karron! if you have any specific recipes in mind you are looking for let us know and we will do our best to create recipe videos for it! Best, Cosori Chef Margaret
@@CookingwithCosori thanks margaret, i'd like to roast some garlic, a lot of garlic!! also any low carb veggie casseroles - cabbage, b sprouts, cauliflower. i know how to just air fryer them but i'm wanting comfy food, especially with the holidays coming up. thanks!
I did it without adding any butter or oil. But left the tray ... It released quite an amount of fats below the tray. The skin was crispy. at 180ºC for 1 hour.
Hi Elay! I would suggest starting out with 25-30 minutes for half a chicken. Once the internal temperature reaches 160-165F it's done! Best, Cosori Chef Margaret
What do you think about cutting the backbone out of the bird? Sorta like a spatchcock, but not flattened out. Seems like you could get more oil and air in the cavity area and it would cook faster.
There's always a mush who knows a better way to do it.. Hi David! Yes you can definitely do that and it will cook faster. I might recommend getting a slightly smaller chicken so that it's not too crammed in the air fryer basket. Let me know how that turns out if you try it out! Best, Cosori Chef Margaret

Hi there, Poppy! We hope you'll enjoy this recipe. We're sending much love to South Georgia! It is so cool that Georgia is famous for peaches, boiled peanuts and Vidalia onions!
Just got the Cosori 5.8 quart. I want to make this but air fryer isn't the dual blaze, so are there any changes I would make? It looks awesome. Thank you. Claudia
Hi Lucille! Since the 5.8 quart is slightly smaller than the dual blaze a 5lb chicken will still fit but may be a bit snug, so you may want to consider using a 4.5lb chicken. You can follow the same instructions, but will keep the inner basket in the 5.8 quart when cooking. If using a smaller chicken you can cut the total cooking time by 5-10 minutes! Best, Cosori Chef Margaret
Hello! Yes you definitely can. Since the 5.8 qt basket is smaller than the dual blaze basket I recommend using a smaller chicken around 4 pounds. Hope you give the recipe a try and let us know what you think! Best, Cosori Chef Margaret
Hi Sylvia! Chef Margaret is flipping the chicken so the skin stays tight and crispy! There will be a lot of steam cooking a whole chicken in any air fryer, so we recommend flipping it for best results in color and texture. Hope this helps and happy cooking! - Chef Mia
All I buy is thighs tbh,but if I do buy a whole chicken I will portion up and the breast will become kievs and freeze the wings, the thighs are so versatile and yummy I use it for most chicken dishes, but I will give this a go,thanks👍

Can you make southern fried chicken, not chicken cutlets but chicken on the bone fried chicken I mean some good homestyle fried chicken let’s see some of that please
I prefer the bone in skin on breast and dark meat. I usually cook the chicken breast until 62 C, and let it keep resting until 70C inside. The chicken will carry over cooking while resting.
Hello, we usually use silicone tongs but all we had on set were metal tongs. Since we just used it to flip and life the chicken, the tongs didn't touch or scrape the basket.
PLEASE! Never put your fingers back into your prep bowls after your fingers have handled raw chicken. Use one hand to sprinkle the seasonings and your other hand to work them in. If you use the same hand for both, please discard whatever seasonings and salt remain in your prep bowls. Not doing so risks salmonella contamination, and that is not a risk worth taking.

Hi Peter! I am a fan of unsalted butter and then seasoning the food itself with salt so I can control how much I add, but you can definitely use salted butter and/or lower the salt amount to your preference! Best, Cosori Chef Margaret
Why are these appliances called 'air fryers'?... they are actually a compact fan oven. I use a Cosori unit that works really well, however it certainly isn't frying food..
NO go for the basic Cosori . Nothing like trying to guess size, from the bad link , 3.5 or smaller birds are almost impossible find Cornish hens same and $$ more with more waste kinda high carcass for stock.
4 teaspoons of salt , is she crazy that will suck all the juices and moisture out of any meat , a light sprinkle on top maybe but not 4 teaspoons (high blood pressure alert) and as for the butter its not needed , a chicken has enough fats and juices to keep it moist while cooking nice with the lemon and garlic but no dont add 4 teaspoons of salt
Hi Joanne! You can definitely adjust the salt and fat level to your preference:) Seasoning the chicken all over and inside the cavity with salt really allows the chicken to taste well seasoned and butter also gives it a delicious flavor and golden crust, which is why I opted for it! Best, Cosori Chef Margaret
@@CookingwithCosori You should actually salt the bird a few hours before cooking, or even overnight or longer. Any less than a few hours and the salt will do nothing more than season the outer skin of the bird. 24 to 48 hours is best.

If afraid this “Chef” is teaching us an awful lot of really bad habits. This is how I would have prepared the bird. Take big bowl and fill it with all the spices you want for seasoning, rub the chicken lightly with the butter and place in the bowl and completely cover it with the spices, then replace it on the cutting board, hog tie it if you’re into that sort of stuff I’m sure you could do a better job 😂. Now Thoroughly wash your hands with a hand cleanser (that kills 99% of household germs) and any surface you might have touched. Preheat the fryer for 5 minutes, and place the chicken in the fryer drawer with 2 old forks bent at 90 degrees, set the time as suggested and pour yourself a glass of wine or 2 whilst you wait. 🫠. Don’t touch any of the internal draw surfaces with anything Metal, Ever, coz this will take the surface coating off and you don’t want to be ingesting any of that dangerous stuff 😮

Similar as to how I cook my chicken but I put the lemon and garlic in the cavity... Makes the chicken super moist.
Putting lemon and garlic in the cavity is a great idea, as they enhance the flavor of the chicken 😋 yummm!!
why is the background moving?
The "Townsends" channel has an 18th century recipe for fried chicken that I bet would be wonderful in the air fryer.
You should have shown us users what buttons to press on the cosori airfryer. This is a cosori video after all and not just a random cooking show? :)
She did put on screen Airfry 360° for 35 mins then flip for an additional 25. So the button you want to select is 'Airfry'
Music detracts and irritates even. It's totally not necessary. Really good presentation BTW. Thank you
