How do you manage without a thermometer. I use one all the the time. Nice video very interesting thank you. I have the chicken ready for air fryer tomorrow
Hi Ron - I do now have a thermometer but somehow, before that, I just knew! Managed to not poison anyone in 35 years of cooking without one but is nice to have that reassurance. Hope yours turned out well x
That sounds great to hear you have not poisoned anyone in 35 years very pleased to hear. But that is you problem, a thermometer is so important when you are showing videos and young chefs learning their skills of cooking. Keep smiling and keep your interesting videos coming, looking forward to the one. I did something different in the kitchen yesterday I made a dozen and half salmon and cod fish cakes for the freezer. Than you again Ronald Cooke
Thank you so much for your delicious and perfect roast whole chicken and roast potatoes dinner by NINinja Max Airfryer. Look forward to see more of your delicious recipes by Ninja. Regards.
You do, yes, but it accumulates under the rack in the air fryer so the chicken doesn't sit in it. If you wanted it that way, you could cook it without the rack in.
Hi Mary - this was a jar of "chicken seasoning" so a generic rub or seasoning mix for chicken would work. I'm glad you enjoyed the video - I don't have time for nonsense lol x
It does take a bit of experimenting - for most things I drop the recommended fan setting by 20 degrees C (so if the cooking guidance says 200 Fan I'd set the Air Fryer at 180) then I drop 20% of the recommended cooking time - so if it says 20 mins, I'd cook for 16 mins. However, first time I try cooking something new I'd start checking it about 5 mins before, and then regularly to find just the right timing. There are also a lot of really helpful facebook groups and Instagram/Tik Tok accounts that give lots of helpful information x
Attempting the same meal in my new Ninja today. Your video so helpful and to the point, I just can't watch/ listen to some people which is wrong of me I know. I like the channel and have subbed. 🌻
Looks great Karen I was wondering how you got a chicken that size in it then realised you've got the newer version . I've had mine about 2 years I think and it's not as big as that. I use one of the other two for chicken I suppose j could get a small chicken in mine. Great machines aren't they, I use one of mine at least every day so much quicker too . And yes get a thermometer I couldn't live without mine.
Yes we have the 400 which is slightly bigger and the large chickens fit perfectly up to about 1.8K. I absolutely love it - not sure how we managed without it! Especially in this heat, not having to heat up the whole kitchen by turning on the oven is such a relief x
@@thefamilyseesaw2892 they are great Iove them all. Not much heat up in my bit of the world,I needed the heating on for an hour or two in the evenings. I heard its to be warm from tomorrow so we'll see, not a heat lover, but don't like heating on in July lol.
Hi Lorraine - I would suggest about 45 mins, but could take a little longer or less time depending on density. Really worth investing in a meat thermometer so you can be reassured it's cooked through.
Glad it turned out well - we wouldn't cook a chicken any other way now for a roast - still use the crockpot if I want a fall apart chicken to use for something else like tacos, enchiladas, chicken pie etc.
@@thefamilyseesaw2892 it would be helpful to stipulate this in your main title rather than have to find out in the comments. I bought a whole chicken to make one based on your lovely recipe here but turns out my Af300 7.6 drawers aren't big enough to keep it whole 😔
Just did a this but at 180 , 35mins , turned and given 30 more , juices ran clear. BUT , when u cut into it the breast wasn’t cooked through …. Take note !
getting an airfryer is almost like joining a religious cult, either you have one ( and you are blessed) or you dont have one, and you dont know what you missed. I am joking offcourse, but only a little bit 😄😄😄😄😄😄
Why do these videos always spoill chickens by coating the chicken in all sorts of stuff. Whats up with just old fashioned roast chicken. No bells or whistles..
Hi Liz - from our meals of the weeks videos you'll see we regularly make an "old fashioned roast chicken dinner" with just a bit of salt and pepper. However, as a family, we enjoy flavour and spice and as we are a mixed heritage family I try to keep us all happy :-) x
Hi Mike - yes, a lot depends on the weight of the chicken as they can vary a lot even when labelled as "large" or "medium" - this was an extra large one so about 1.8K from memory.
This air fryer is a game changer. no greasy mess, easy to clean, and cooks anything fast.
A complete game changer - not sure what we'd do without ours now :-) x
Looks delicious. Am thinking of purchasing one and this video encourages me even more. Thank you for sharing 😊
Lovely clear instructions for a senior to cope with.
Great video thank you! Cooked my chicken perfectly with your help 😊 x
You’re welcome 😊
Looking forward to seeing more of your cooking adventures with the Ninja 🤩
More to come!
That’s a wonderful piece of equipment Karen. Thankyou for showing us your delicious food. 🥰🇬🇧
🤗
Which Model of the duel is it please as there is 4 different ones? I only want one big enough that I can also fit a medium to large chicken in
The biggest one available is the 10 qt./9.5 Liter one, which is the one shown in the video.
Just got a ninja, and like the easy way you cooked the chicken and roast potatoes. Thank
lovely video. what size machine is yours? is this the AF300 7.5l or the AF400 9.5l?
It's the 9.5 because it has the round dial in the middle.

Thank you 😋
ty
That looks so good both the chicken and roast potatoes
My ninja is on the way looking forward to using instead of oven as it's quite costly to run

Do you get loafs of juice off the chicken as you would in a conventional oven?
You do, yes, but it accumulates under the rack in the air fryer so the chicken doesn't sit in it. If you wanted it that way, you could cook it without the rack in.
What spices please it look fantastic thank you for your no nonsense video very helpful

Which air fryer is that? Model?
Hi Jane, it's the Ninja Dual AF400 in the UK and I believe it's the DZ401 in the U.S.
How do you know what temperature to use and how long to cook please ?

Glad it was helpful!
Just made a crispy roast chicken in my new Ninja Airfryer. Took 1hr @190*c with a turn half way. Sooo happy. Thank you so much!! 🙌🏻🤍
oh I'm so glad it turned out well Shenia - it really is a game-changer for family dinners! x
Hello May I ask you? Which size of your air fryer
Hi - it's the Ninja Dual Zone - I think there might be 2 models and this is the larger of the 2.
Looks great Karen I was wondering how you got a chicken that size in it then realised you've got the newer version . I've had mine about 2 years I think and it's not as big as that. Can you give me the timing for small 1200kg chicken thanks
Hi Lorraine - I would suggest about 45 mins, but could take a little longer or less time depending on density. Really worth investing in a meat thermometer so you can be reassured it's cooked through.
Thank you just cooked it about 50 mins. I do have meat thermometer. Didn't think to use it. Chicken was great.
Glad it turned out well - we wouldn't cook a chicken any other way now for a roast - still use the crockpot if I want a fall apart chicken to use for something else like tacos, enchiladas, chicken pie etc.
What time is dinner....
Wow nice I have the same air fryer I’m about to try cooking a whole chicken in it 🤩🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
👩🍳🐈⬛🍽🥤🐈👩🦼🌴Yummy Yum!!! 👋👋👋from southeast Georgia!
Is this an af400?
Hi Anne - yes, it is x
Fab! Thank you. Which ninja do you have
We have the Dual Zone 400 which is the larger of the 2 double drawer ones x

How many minutes in US time?

LOL Michael I know exactly what you mean - we did hold off for a while, but we are glad we "saw the light" or "heard the ping"

Nothing wrong with a bit of flavour
Most other videos I've seen cook 30 mins and 30 mins at 350. I guess you just need to experiment and keep an eye on the chicken.

God your boring I fell asleep
