TOP TIP ! When you take the birds out, take the trivet out the bottom of the pans, and use them on chopping board, to rest your meat, and remember your air fryer rakes , can be used as cooling racks for anything, if you have the trays for another fryer , take them out and tip upside down, again you now have a airing - cooling racks, i just saved you money on buying cooling racks.

Ok. Couple of things I found. I brined the chicken for about 4 hrs yesterday in 4 pints water, half a cup of salt and half a cup of sugar, thyme, peppercorns and bay leaves. Before I put the chicken in the fryer on air fry I dried it thoroughly with kitchen paper. I put the bird into the air fryer from the fridge. Next time I think I will leave it for 30 minutes or so before cooking it so that the meat is not cold. 400 deg c was a little too hot. My bird was marginally larger than yours although it fitted nicely into the fryer pan. I started it on 400f (my fryer is from the other side of the pond) but noticed after 15 minutes or so that it was cooking a touch too quickly, so I reduced the temperature to 390f (which is the default setting) and turned the bird over. I left it for another 20 minutes to finish and it looked and smelled amazing. The internal temperature was up at 173c but it didn’t look overcooked or dry. I think the brining was my saviour here. The breast meat was juicy and succulent. I didn’t think I would be brave enough to try a whole chicken, but honestly I appreciate your tutorial because it gave me the courage to give it a go. I will be more active with my instant read thermometer next time (the phone went on me) but honestly I give this a thumbs up. Great machine. Deserves the high ratings it gets. I would have liked to see you carve the breast meat though for your results. Thanks again.

Bigest bonus of this ninja airfryer is zero pong in the kitchen even cooking fish the stink is near nill , which means your kitchen stays cleaner than an ordinary oven , good practice just when you take out whatever you have cooked is washing up fairy plus two inch s of hot water then after you have eaten everything, it takes two mins each drawer to clean up its so easy. Not sure why you demo cooks think its a good idea to use metal forks and tongs but dont , long term you will damage the drawer finish however careful you are it only needs one x scratch.

Thanks for the video. Only one suggestion - do NOT use the fork to lift out the chicken half way through cooking as this punctures the skin and lets all the juices out. Best to use the tongs you had. More fiddly, but keeps the bird as moist as possible.

We bought the small ninja and cooked a small whole chicken. It took 40 minutes turning half way and cost us about 80p in electricity against the usual £2 plus in a conventional oven. It's a no brainer and it's effectively replaced our George forman and grill and we hardly use the Microwave either. We even take it on holiday in our motor home because its less messy and cook's our breakfast in no time.
